Are D.C.'s allowed?
Last night twitch rivals, a player that was deemed worthy of representing both the game and community D/C'd to give hatch to another player in a competitive setting, setting the example for thousands of fans watching.
Since dedicated servers are now a thing, and there is still no ban/timeout system for D.C.ing, then surely this is acceptable behavior, yes?
I don't really feel like wasting my time in a game where nobody plays a bloody party streamer, so if this is okay to do, id like to keep D/Cing until BPS gets played, and just study for exams until somebody does in one of my games.
Serious question. No, i'm not trolling.

DC'ing is against Terms of Service so no it is not allowed.

Then why was it allowed and showcased for thousands of people watching last night on the first official twitch rivals DbD "competition"
It gives all these fans, players, and viewers the idea that this is perfectly acceptable behavior.

They are not, no. Disconnects are normally tracked automatically, and anyone who disconnects excessively is automatically banned. We have a new system on the way to better deal with excessive disconnecting.
That, however, was a custom game between friends. We do not enforce rules in custom games.

Well it was a competition with a cash prize, "custom game" is putting it rather loosely lol. The host on the show even said if anybody D/C's that they will remake the lobby if any survivor D/C's in regards to somebody picking an overpowered killer such as "Nurse". That never happened though. Hopefully the new system is a bit more strict, this showcase will likely lead to increased D/C's due to their acceptance in a competitive setting with a cash prize on the line.

what's your point, flex?
You've got your answer: no, you can't DC, you can be punished if you do.
Twitch allowed it in their custom game? You can file a complaint here.
P.S. If you really watched the stream you know it was everything but a competitive event ;)

@Peanits If it was only a custom game, and just for "fun". And no holds barred, and no rules or bannable offenses apply etc. I don't get why Hexy couldn't participate?
One of the hosts even said that they would re-make the lobby and do over if there was a disconnect.. Yet they didn't do that either.
Just confusing.

Lets try to stay consistent here, shall we Penits. I mean, being an official rep of the game and all......
If you're going to publicly confirm what anyone in their right mind would absolutely consider an exploit anyways...
2 -
ok so you don't enforce rules in custom games, even the dc threshold, exploits are not OK but we don't consider purposely DC'n to enable a game mechanic to activate, thus bypassing said mechanic an exploit...
So can I find a cheat program and enable cheats in custom games? Can I hack the gamefiles and use my own skins in said games? What about giving myself all items and skins for cutom games, is that OK? See where this is going? You created a rule. You worded it the way you did. It's obviously an action that allows something you have forbidden (dc) to give an outcome that otherwise would not have likely been the result. (obviously I know the answers to the above but they are just examples)
It's insanity to create a rule that says purposly exploiting game mechanics for an unfair advantage will result in disciplinary action, and not consider a DC so the hatch pops open, a direct example of said rule.
It's like that game of kickball where the kid who owns the ball can make up the rules as he goes along or he'll take his ball home. Well, the other kids might go along with that if he is the only kid with a kickball in town...but...eventually....there WILL be someone else with a kickball and he'll get told to pound sand and end up sitting on the bench.

I encourage everyone to d/c when either bugs happen or hits that were clearly a miss. Maybe then someone at bvhr would understand they they need to be more than a DLC factory. You can flame me all the way you want. Most people in this game can't even hit space in the right time and I don't expect them to understand that in many games you don't call it skill when you get free hits. If you miss by an inch you're a noob and go away with nothing.

I posted something similar a while back (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/80189/dcing-in-order-for-the-last-survivor-to-get-the-hatch-is-perfectly-fine#latest)
DCing for someone else to get hatch won't get you banned. Even if they do it in your face and laught about it in the chat afterwards.
As long as don't DC too much. You're fine. This is not considered an exploit from the devs perspective.
There was another streamer in the tournament using a macro to click the flashlights extremely fast, and knowing this might get you banned, another streamer told him to be careful about it while live.
At the end of the day devs will ban or not ban you for whatever reason they feel its appropriate in their eyes, wether we agree or not.
I have seen people getting temp banned for the most ridiculous things, yet, these public displays of bullshit just get the blind eye.
Smile and wave boys!

Awesome, can DC aslong as its not excessive.
No more haddonfield as killer or fighting killers i dislike as survivor ^^.

It's been known since they implemented banning that the threshold for DC punishment is comically high. A certain Fog Whisperer DC'd so often that their rank rarely went up. They regularly had BHVR staff in their chat, and were never removed as a Fog Whisperer. BHVR tacitly supports this behavior.

My concerns have nothing to do with the tournament. My posts on the DC problem and many other concerns are all in my post history going back many many months. Feel free to take a read @martin27 you may learn a thing or 2.
They simply spot-lighted a problem that already was rampant. The streamers made a joke out of them and their silly "rules" which I absolutely thought was epic in front of likely 10-15k people scattered across many streamers. Totally the pie in the face BHVR deserved on the issue. That my friend, is Karma.

Thanks for clearing the fog on this topic.
I'm really tired of all those Spirits and Campers out there.
Glad to know that i can simply avoid them without fearing any punishment.
