Hard Statistics about Rift Progression
So I wanted to see how long it would take to go up one entire rift level with hard statistics. So I recorded (not a video) the amount of matches I played, starting experience of rift level, my rank, que time for each match, and each match length and here's what I got.
It took me 14 matches timed at a total of 4 hours and 56 seconds to complete one whole rift level at Rank 3 with my starting experience being 467.
My que times are as follows:
2 minutes, 3 minutes 35 seconds, 3 minutes 20 seconds, 2 minutes 29 seconds, 7 minutes 28 seconds (dodged cause there was a rank 17 and rank 18 both in the lobby), 3 minutes 41 seconds, 3 minutes 39 seconds, 3 minutes 38 seconds, 4 minutes 2 seconds, 3 minutes 56 seconds, 3 minutes 28 seconds, 3 minutes 44 seconds, 3 minutes 34 seconds, 14 minutes 45 seconds (first lobby was a bugged 3 man lobby so I dodged, 2nd lobby someone failed to load into the match).
The length of each match are as follows:
13 minutes 11 seconds, 10 minutes 55 seconds, 21 minutes 57 seconds, 17 minutes 16 seconds, 12 minutes 28 seconds, 11 minutes 27 seconds, 9 minutes 53 seconds, 8 minutes 5 seconds, 13 minutes 19 seconds, 8 minutes 37 seconds, 13 minutes 4 seconds, 14 minutes 33 seconds, 8 minutes 32 seconds, 14 minutes 5 seconds.
Now as we all know the tomes only provide us with half of the rift shards needed to complete the rift pass, so if takes around 350 rift shards that you have to earn through just playing the game it would take you on average 140 hours to complete the rift pass or roughly 490 matches. This whole "1 hour a day" thing saying is bogus since you'd have to be playing at least 28 hours a week to complete the rift pass. I would love to see other members of the community share their results using this or similar format.

Where did you get crap from? The next tomes could literally include anything considering they can change them at any point.

tru. pretty sure they'll change some of the challenges too.

I got similar results averaging in about 3,5h for one tier at rank 10 (survivor). Needless to say it's absurdly long.
Something needs to change and I don't think that it will bcs the devs are aware of this and possibly made it like this to force us into buying the tiers(100 auric cells per tier).

As now, i can only think of one way, which is banned 100%, for one normal person to complete the rift.

It still baffles me that you get SIGNIFICANTLY more XP for just existing than you do for actually playing well. I really hope they boost the emblem XP in the future.

I didn't do my calculations with anywhere near as much accuracy, but I did keep track of my progress while I was completing challenges. It took me a total of about 18 hours to finish the first Tome, and in that time I ascended 12 tiers in the Rift. That time is just raw playtime, so it includes queue times, time spent in menus, etc. over several ordinary play sessions.

While I’m not discounting ANYTHING of what you’ve said, and I appreciate the work you put into gathering this info to help out casuals like me, I do want to point out one extra factor to consider in your calculations.
All of your numbers came from a period during which we had a bloodhunt event. This has a notorious effect on queue time and match length.
If you could run a few more numbers over the course of the week and see how they compare to the original calculations, that would give the devs some insanely helpful information to work with! Others of us will be helping out for sure!

^ what he said

Bloodhunt event + weekend days + it's the new "thing" makes queuetimes lower and stuff so we can't even be sure if the numbers are not even worse.
