Rift Means No More Survivor For Me
I can't take the dumb teammates anymore. It's so clear that song generators are just not priority for so many players. If this were a different game with bigger teams the idea might work, but when even one player trying to get some stupid secondary objective is on your team, it makes it hard to have fun.
I don't need to win to have fun, but I have to feel like there was a chance. I'll be maining killers now, but even that is a bit less fun for the same reason.
I know I'm not the first person to feel this way, but it's just really disappointing the game has come to this.

I actually like the archives, it's something different and it's definitely beats having nothing! ??

There's been so much talk about adding a secondary objective, it'd be better to be prepared for survivors doing less gens more regularly in the future anyway.

It seems like there has been talk of a second objective/new modes for years. I'd be shocked if the devs ever do something to get people off of gens.

Lol you gonna be mad as hell maining killer if losing upsets you

What ever they decide with secondary objective id put money on it still has to do with escaping. It'll be more like an alternative objective than a secondary one, and it will likely be just a different survivor overall objective. So maybe one game you get generators, other games it's grabbing gas cans like in left for dead.

Wrong thread c:

Losing doesn't upset me if I feel like it's because I played poorly. Not because I was legit handicapped by mates effectively playing a different game.

There was also talk of reworking the end game for a very long time before it happened.

Besides the crow challenge, most of these are things that youd be doing each game so far. I'm not gonna get mad at my teammates for doing other things like healing or unhooking. I guess you MIGHT get mad if people are trying to open abunch of chests, but... Those chests are very likely to have good stuff in them if the person is using plunderers to do it. The few seconds it takes to open a chest is made up for when they grab a commodious tool box out of it, even more so if theyre using ace in the hole.

I noticed that as well. Random teammates on a yolo save mission or spending the match looking for chests really impact the solo survivor experience. I definitely prefer playing with a full SWF team to avoid these matches.

Tbh, more people are cycling the people who have to get a challenge done. Like some where you have to heal another person and they sit there and heal themselves, it takes more time AND the other person doesn’t get pet of their objective done. So they have to go into separate matches to get one done

I get what your saying OP. I was doing the open 5 chests one last night and I knew I was letting down the team as I was doing it. Was basically wondering around with plunders instinct when I could have done a gen or two. It can be the difference between winning and losing...

I mostly like the secondary objectives except when they are the ones that must be done in one trial. Open 5 chests is fine because you will get that over a few games, but opening 3 in one game means you are just scrambling to get to those chests before anyone else and probably screwing over your team that match.

Running off meta perks isnt the same as screwing around. Since Ive been running iron will alot lately, I actually went for way more great skillchecks than I normally do on that game. Ended up with 4 escapes. If the challenges were just abunch of things like "Point at the killer 37 times", id get it... But when the challenge is just telling you to use a perk or a character your not use to... Thats not the same as throwing the game.

I know right, I didn't even remember what that perk did. I had to search my survivors to see if I had it on anyone. It was definitely one perk that I would pass on if I had a choice so it was only on about 3 of my survivors (all at 50)

For me its the opposite, rift means I am playing survivor more because I can earn more XP quicker as I can find games quicker, as my killer lobbies are taking close to 20 minutes.

None of these challenges are telling people to run no-mither though. This is not happening is not a handicap. Heck, the perk I swapped it out for that was on my usual build was fixated, lol. If anything, using this is not happening made gens go even faster than usual. I do kinda wish you asked me how often I run brutal strength though. Been using that on Clown lately, then I saw the challenge and laughed.

The problem isn't the challenges overall but the ones which are done in one match.
Those ones make alot of players try to complete them before playing the game as normal. I do see that as an issue for the others matched with them.
It has calmed down a bit thankfully but I also feel these should be more passive challenges split over multiple games as someone shouldn't be disadvantaged by loading into a game with another player which the game has given a personal challenge which in turn detracts them from the game itself.
A PvP game shouldn't distract players this way.
These also arent true second objectives as those would be something which is beneficial for everyone when one person did it much like a generator is.

Wait for those challenges that will require to sandbag entire team in order to get them done

The challenges were very easy for the first level. Every Killer and Survivor one I completed on my first attempt. The only one that took two games was "Sacrifice 5 to the Entity," for obvious reasons.

Aha, so 8 Totems in one game? :P
But yeah, I agree, I have not felt any different, my matches were not worse than before, just because of the Challenges.
But if I read here that people DCed when they were not able to open 3 Chests...

Oh yeah. Two then :D

The problem with the chest challenge is that people's competitive nature get in the way of completing the main objectives.
I have to open all these chest before someone else does rather than let me just open some chests between objectives

They need to reclasify (as i pointed out earlier in my poll) what "griefing is". I'll agree that the opposing sides taunting eachother should not be considered "toxic" and "griefing". It's a no brainer to me that if someone is chasing you trying to kill you you are going to run as fast as possible, outsmart them and make fun of them..or vice versa. Part of the game. HOwver, I think they need to draw a fine line between that and ppl destroying the matches of the other survivors by purposefully dcing, chasing crows, purposefully missing skill checks, standing there pointing at the hook instead of unhooking them, fighting over the hatch, chasing other survivors around trying to get their items , stalking survivors, letting them die so they can get their items or the hatch.. etc etc.
I think this might have something to do with this "altruism" experiment they are doing. They obviously have noticed a lack of team work among the survivors and I think they are trying to pin point what is going on statistically so they can try and figure out how they can adapt the game to work around this, or properly punish ppl for acting like that. Ya, sorry "punish " ..ya. It is what it is. A goalie who walks out of his net and purposefully lets the guy running right at him score..ya..he gets fired and probably sued. who cares if you disagree with me, the majority of the world looks down on this behavior and your opinion is not in the norm. No one appreciates the "i can do whatever I want" attitude that seems to be present among millenials (not that they are all like that), some of us tolerate it ..some less than others..lol. There should be consequences for this behavior. It's just a matter of what these consequences should be or whether or not the game should also be adjusted to make doing things like this feel less rewarding for the abusers. Like, for example, people used to hang around after matches and just act..uh..dumb. They invented the end game collapse. People used to just jump through windows and pallets far too much (they changed it so that after three times the windows are blocked). Ppl won't stop dcing, so they started banning people. That became unmanageable so they now are hoping the private servers will help them manage things.
Just be patient with them. They see what is going on, they are probably thinking of a clever way to handle it 😀

You should be getting an advantage both ways, for a couple of the killer challenges I had just prestige 2 my trapper So I sent survivor messages in lobby like I'm just gonna need To trap 2 of you just do the gens because I didn't wanna go try hard with 1 perk.
Also, if you're such a competitive gen rusher that it's gonna bother you this much you shouldn't be playing with randoms you should be playing with swf sweaty tryhards. It's refreshing on both sides to have different stuff to Do. It's just a game brah.

I have done this so many times before the archives and i never felt bad. Sometimes i embrace having another objective then doing gens.

Hope he enjoys having gens done against him in 4 minutes lol
