The Rift System In A Nutshell
The amount of grinding in this game is really just getting tiring. You gotta constantly xp grind characters in order to get new perks. And if you ever get bored and switch to a new character it becomes an even greater luck dependent time sink the more perks you unlock, and even after that you gotta keep grinding in order to keep your supply of addons so you won't be disadvantaged in future matches
And now you got the new Rift system with it's time constraints and insanely difficult challenges which pretty much rely on matchmaking giving you a bunch of noobs and you putting on a dedicated perk/addon build just to have a chance at getting it
I'm honestly just getting a bit tired of it.The whole grind system has been the game's sole endgame but at least the mechanics were fun and all. But now with this new system I just have no interest in playing anymore because it's forcing me to play in a certain way for potentially days

I always thought it was fun that the rift encouraged you to play differently, and run different perks, it makes the game way less stale when going for challenges.

Thats the point of a BP.
But its failing at doing its job because you have to play 6 hours just for tiering up.
Its insane.

I like it for the different challenges it gives you to do. It is very grinding, but what isn't in this game? I don't really care about the premium version of the rift, all it gives you is cosmetics and auric cells. I will just continue to play as much as I normally do and then see how far I progress on the rift and decide then if I want to buy it or not. I know I won't be far enough to get 1000 a.c. back, but if I get 70% or so back then maybe. Sadly, the nurse skin is probably the best thing you can get and I don't play her.

Meh it's only a problem if you feel like it's something you have to do but that's on you because you don't.

I don't think some of these people know what optional means....

Survivors asked for more things to do then objectives. So they gave you small challenges. And what good would the challenges be without a reward, so there you go some cosmetics.
And Killers will want their share of goodies, so , bam!, small challenges for them as well.
The system didn't add in more grind UNLESS YOU WANT IT.
So the community wanted some more things to do, and they got it, you can ignore it if you don't find it fun to do.
Basically take it or leave it, but there is no room for complaining about it.

this system just got extra dailies in that disrupt the game play. how is that something else to do? they should make new game mode not just stupid dailies where i can already see surivors are disrupting the gameplay to go for that goal... it's a worse daily because surivvors are selfish and just go for their personal goal now every. single. game.

I haven't played since the Rift was implemented and I'm not sure I will. The last thing this game needs is more BS grinds.

read my comment above it ads another bs. ppl become even more selfish if that was even possible

I just don't like the ones that have to be done in one trial, those do screw over your team pretty bad. The others can be done through normal gameplay. Bad teammates might try and focus on getting them done fast, but bad teammates is kind of normal.

I wouldn't exactly say the game is more grindy as you are grinding everything simultaneously.
In fact there is a new way to earn BP (the tome challenges) so this should surely aid with levelling characters?

Archive grinding isn't too bad, except for what Tome 4 is looking like. The only real problem is the Rift grinding. Why do we get hardcapped at 500 XP? Playing 6-7 games for 1 tier, is crazy when factor in queue times, lobby times, load times, and the chance that someone DCs, making the 15 minutes you waited to get into a game completely worthless.

I played for the first time in a minute yesterday and I had to refrain from getting my last safe unhook because it wasn't really that safe. Still though people have been playing less than optimal for BPs and PIPs for a while now so I'm not sure it's all that different.

This. 100%. In order to do the "This is Happening" challenge, I had to run No Mither and This is Not Happening, two perks I have NEVER run before. I like being pulled out of my comfort zone and trying something new!
