Hatch Grab needs to come back!!

Alright!

I am all for the key. I like that it can be used. I enjoy the feeling(as killer) when a survivor is able to escape a tough match by using a key to get away. There is a strange sort of rush from getting away through that hatch, especially when it is closed.

However....

There was nothing more exhilarating than playing killer and snagging a survivor just before they dropped into the random ass, survivor friendly, darkness that is a hatch. Without the hatch grab, that ending moment is no longer as powerful as it used to be.

I understand that the hatch can now be closed by a killer, and thus, some kind of endgame advantage has been falsely applied to the killer. But that last dude(ette) could still have a key and therefore, still able to open the hatch.

The hatch grab must come back. The opportunity to snach that last survivor was just so great and good that it must return.

If you don't know, you don't know.

Only 2 keys open the hatch and the hatch needs to be found for said reason. I personally like how it works now its a who finds it first wins id rather not barely beat the killer there and when im about to jump in they grab me, they didnt find it first so its my win. Thats how the hatch works right now. (Not saying the concept of the hatch isnt flawed though i know a good bit of people who want it removed and Tru3 suggested a alternative from that one other game idrk how i feel about the hatchs existance itself.

Yeah but if the survivor has more than a couple brain cells they would wait till the killer leaves the hatch. They have to check the doors sometime.

But there is such an awesome moment when you are running for the hatch and the killer is right up your A$$, you find the hatch And jump in, he has a moment to get you....whether he misses you or snags you, you personally are pumped for the moment and having a great time!

Yes, sometimes they will get you and sometimes you will get away, but it used to be such a split second moment that it really got you pumped!

I just hate not having the chance anymore.

It was also to end hatch stand offs as well though along with shutting the hatch. In the previous system the survivor would stand on the hatch and the killer would wait until they do the jump in animation. you wait there for about 10 minutes until someone finally made a move it took way to long.

Actually, if the killer finds it first but the survivor has a key, the survivor can still win in that scenario, especially if they're uninjured and the killer doesn't have an instadown.

(I'm not saying hatch grabs should or shouldn't be brought back.)

I remember those moments and totally agree that they were awful, but that was a good while ago. I think the return of the hatch grab would be different. The way survivors play now, most would hear the heartbeat and get out of there and hit a door, especially if they new the killer was camping. Stealth killers could still do it, but the grab moment wouldn't last as long as the survivor would most likely just go straight for the hatch if they didn't hear a heartbeat.

When it works, it really works, no matter of the grab is successful or not. It's either a "Got You" moment or a "Good One" moment from the killer side. As it is now, survivors can stand there and Tbag forever with a killer unable to do a thing.

I prefer it without the grab... hatch standoffs aren't something I miss in the slightest.

hatch grabs should only be brought back for a person who used a key

I like that idea. Or if a random key is found. It would add some real late grab moments that would be awesome.
