Does steam download region affect the dedicated servers you get connected to?

I know that steam has way more regions than available DBD dedicated servers zones, but does changing the steam download region affect in any way the dedicated server the game connects you to?

I gotta wait 20+ min for a game as a survivor and it is driving me b@lls
