Is he Vigo? Didn't the devs mention that Vigo was thrown into Void at some point, but he managed to escape, as shown during The Hunger's cutscene? Is he Benedict Baker? Maybe the character from the first Hallowed Blight?

It was revealed to be Vigo as he is the alchemist in both the first hollowed Blight and withering blight.

Vigo was experimenting the effect of the putrid serum on killers. He seem that increase their strength, he also have discover that every year the entity is infested with blight (halloween blight).

The hunger cutscene reveal that his calculation revealed by Benedict Baker during the first blight event prove to be true. After extracting the last blight flower during that time Vigo find himself in the void.

The void is a realm that all killers/survivors that have no more use to the entity and are send there. Vigo used his serum and made it out of the void but as monster maybe.

Alchemist is hallowed blight protagonist. He isn't Vigo, cause hallowed blight protagonist found Vigo's journal.

At the end of hallowed blight it was said, that Entity found him. So, this is how he ended up in Void.

As I pointed out some time ago, I don't think that hallowed blight protagonist (aka alchemist) is Benedict Baker. Firstly, Benedict was refered as researcher. He is analytical guy, who study things first, then act later. At the same time, Alchemist wasn't smart enough to realise, that he was able to beat killer only cuz of serum. He became stronger and decided to inject killers with same serum... Why exactly? Cuz he was obsessed with serum and couldn't add two plus two. I mean, Benedict would probably thought twice, before doing this. Archetypes don't match.
