My thoughts - oh nooo it's revisiting a chapter which already exists so it's gonna be really basic and nothing too exciting.
Hoping for the Oni as I initially wanted that when we got spirit.

Way less than exciting. Although we don't know what it is yet no one wants to revist old maps tied with old killers for a new chapter. They could have done much better presenting this.

The thing it has going for it is uniqueness. A sequel to a chapter hasn't happened yet.

It's probably an ancestor. Have you guys read the map lore? If not you should that's why I think it may be an ancestor to Spirit.

They might nerf Spirit to Legion tier AND add a new Killer that's already Legion tier to the roster, both in the same update.

Must be something the devs are passionate about and want to make if they're returning to expand on an older chapter for the first time.

Out of all the possible original ideas, many offered by folks on this board... and we get Rin's crazy samurai dad in an Oni mask.
Unfortunate. Meh.
Would much prefer it just be a preview of her being the second Tome's focus and save the new killer/chapter for something original, but... I mean, it says "Chapter Preview," so...

After watching the teaser the first video suggestion which immediately pops up is one called "Why do people hate the spirit"
I feel like it's an Oni with a charged attack which insta downs and an M1.
I'm wondering if the 'crazy' in the leaked coding is a legion sprint.
I like the Oni but it just feels like this chapter is just like an easier one to make compared to the others. No new map, possibly no Survivor, just the Killer so far and I can't imagine them being to different from what we already have.
I'm just hoping the new Killer has a unique mechanic which proves me wrong.

I came to the conclusion that this killer is over performing. The devs are prepping a “look into killer changes” patch to help make em more fun for survivors.
on a serious note, I have low expectations going forward. The killer will be nerfed in some aspect. If it’s viable, expect changes to happen. Don’t want to be disappointed n act surprised when it does happen.

I think it's cool that there will be 2 killers that are actually connected, specially with spirit (being the coolest artistic design in my opinion)

She is definitely weaker than before, and certifiably less fun.
But I don't blame survivors or killers, sides are pointless. I blame the devs for refusing a lot of feedback and pushing the changes out anyway to fit some behind the scene plan they had.
It wasn't for balancing because she was too strong or weak, it's because something in her kit they didn't like fundamentally, so they took out the fun portion of it.

I’m excited. Perhaps a reworked version of this map or additional map with new tiles added for it. I am excited to see a part two. More lore than can explain spirits heritable/background as well as dive into perhaps a more interesting character within the same theme.

How many people do you actually see playing Nurse still? Her numbers have dropped way off because she isn't fun or rewarding anymore. It's a chore to do LITERALLY anything with her now. Just stupid.
Also I agree, it's probably another C tier killer who can get bullied in green ranks. Wow that sure is fun for the 16th time.

I almost never see a nurse even before the rework, but I haven't played much red-rank survivor.
She's not trash like the other person said. If the new killer was like nurse, they would definitely not be C-tier. I've played her a lot during the PTB and she didn't feel that much different.
If her numbers dropped off, that's good. There are like 17 or so killers in the game, and from what I heard nurse was like 30-50% of the red-rank killers, which shouldn't happen. People who stopped playing her were literally just playing her because she was top-tier and now they don't because they can't use an omega-blink slug build anymore.

The new killer won't be Rin's father. It'll be someone who got resurrected using that altar (the right scroll in the original "First Cut" trailer says "revival of the dead"). Since the father's voice says "your blood is Yamaoka's", the new killer will be connected to Rin's family only in the sense that her blood was used to resurrect him/her.

well ######### all of us who were hoping for Alchemist I guess. Really wanted him to be killer, I liked his story and style too. Or at least what little we have of it. Nope, flush my dreams down the toilet
However: I've said it before and I'll say it again, as long as it isn't a stealth or teleporting killer I won't be too unhappy with it. If it is, I'm going to be so pissed because literally half the killers in the game already do those things we don't need more of the same crap

There are problems with your argument.
Firstly, if she is the most played then that is indeed a problem, but not for the reason you listed. If she is the only killer doing well in red ranks to such a degree that should tell you the rest of the trash cast needs to be brought up to her level instead of her sinking to theirs. It's only a matter of time if this continues until all killers actually capable of even 2king at red ranks are so bad or frustrating to use no one is going to play killer seriously and eventually the ranking system will fully collapse as people derank left and right to even get games that are over in 3 minutes.
Secondly, she feels VERY different. If you did not play her a lot before the changes I expect you not to see the nuances that are destroyed by the changes. Running across the map in a straight line without even attempting to break LOS as the MAIN COUNTER for her now is all you really need to hear to see that the changes are serve. She can't do mind games anymore because the cooldown punishes you for it, you blink at least half as much or LESS than before the changes (>50% is not a SLIGHT change), she still has addons that are garbage and will never see use outside of memes, I mean there are just so many things wrong with the way a cooldown interacts with her power.
Thirdly, she was strong. But she required a LOT of work and skill to actually be effective. She was an incredible model of skill:reward. If you had a lot of skill you got a lot of reward. Now even if you have a lot of skill all it does is make the match less annoying and frustrating. It still isn't fun or cool.
Sure, Omega blink should have been nerfed (and it's current version isn't too bad, but the base kit change on top of it ruins anything you can do with it) NOT HER BASE KIT. It took skill, had counters, and was F-U-N.
Now the best way to play against her is to do what used to get you killed against her: RUN IN A STRAIGHT LINE.

I'm not excited at all. Not interested in another Japanese killer or another estate for this garbage map called Yamaoka. Hopefully it's going to be completely different than I think, otherwise it's a hard pass.

Oh come on SpaceCoconut. You never really played the survivor role, let alone reaching higher ranks as solo survivor. How can you tell it's easy mode when you never experienced it by yourself?
I'm not saying survivor role is insanely difficult, especially when you team up with 3 friends on voice coms. But as solo you won't have it piss ez all the time. And before you make this statement again, at least play a little bit more survivor, EXPERIENCE versing strong killers by yourself AS SOLO and then come back make this statement again. Oh, don't forget to upload some gameplays on your channel.

I won't play more survivor than I have to in order to complete the challenges. I don't enjoy the role so no, I won't try to get better at it.
Kind of like being forced to play a healer role when you'd rather play DPS.
Besides, it's a pretty well known fact that the survivor role is easier than the killer role.
This is evidenced by how many streamers play survivor in order to interact with their chat easily.
Both sides have easy and hard matches, but as a whole I believe that the majority of the playerbase would agree that survivors have more easy matches than killers do.
