Linking players DBD accounts to forums

BHVR should honestly link players DBD account to the forums. I would like to know how many hours that person put into this game before making an opinion on balancing, gameplay, etc.

Its not much to ask, Iw'd just be more interested on a person who put in over 1.5k hours than someone with around 100 hours.

So you want this information to use as a gatekeeping aid?

Also, my Steam profile is set to private for work-related reasons, so you'd just have to trust that I have 1400 game hours anyway.

I don't think having a certain amount of hours validates or invalidates anyone's opinion or feedback on this game, personally. People can choose to share that information or not, I don't think it should be forced or mandatory. At the same time people can also choose to not consider someone else's opinion for whatever reason they wish, such as low playtime etc.

Also, consider the fact that people can or do "pad" their hours. Be it intentional or not by just leaving the game running, but not actually playing. etc. ( I had one of my friends do this, saw him non-stop running DBD for like a week. No idea what was going on there.) So, I don't really think this would be a good "tell" for what you are wanting, to be honest.

My thoughts on it, would be to just take the time and discuss things with the individual that way you can really get to know their view better, and can form an opinion that way. (I.E. What makes you think this? How did you come to form this opinion? etc.)

Anyone can have an opinion someones game time is not that big of a deal someone having an opinion leads to discussions and thats how ideas are formed as well as it gives the devs feedback.

but for the sake of not being afraid to show my hours i can gladly post my steam no worry needed

Than the Date they purchased the game?

Im only saying this because lots (I say lots because old players leave the game and new ones come in) Killers/Survivors complaining about balancing when they have no idea what it was like at the begining of the game or few patches ago before they voice.

I have the game on the PS4 and PC so my PC hours and trophies are nowhere near my hours on the PS4. I did intentionally make my name the same as my player name though, when I was on PS4, on the PC I'm HattDude instead of Creature. My nickname is actually Hat Dude IRL but that name was taken on the Playstation so I came up with Creature.

That is a fair point. However you couldn't link us console scrubs accounts. Even if you could my number would be hugely padded. I bought the game in October (or close to it) of 2017. I couldn't get into the game and didn't really start playing until June of 2018.

I completely get where you are coming from. But like @coppersly mentioned. Their arguments and what they use to support it will be the best way to tell. Because the forums are here for multiple reasons and one being feedback, and even people that just bought the game that may be frustrated and venting (which would show in lacking information and/or experience etc.), but they are still allowed to share their thoughts. I think there's more people that can be reasoned with, than people may think. Especially when represented with facts and/or logic. Like I wouldn't get mad or annoyed, I'd suggest try to teach them. Debate can be a powerful thing.

People getting banned from this forum all the time. Do you REALLY want that linked to an account that has 100s -1000s of hours and 100s of dollars? Think a little deeper.

What if I’ve purchased the game on two different occasions? What about if I bought the disc for it originally but later bought the digital copy? This wouldn’t work.

What if I have DBD on multiple platforms (I do)?

Not only that but we don't need people saying "well I have more hours so your opinion is wrong"

Also people can sit in the main menu to rack up hours and fake having a ton of em btw this wouldn't work because of this as well.

What if someone has several accounts like me?

I never understood people censoring people based on the hours they played. Judge the argument not the person. I have seen quite a few people on the forums that have thousands of hours sound like fools.

Linking a Steam account might give access to more information than is safe...

However, I'd be VERY interested in having our personal stats from the game itself available here.

The same information that's available on the Leaderboard, but maybe setup in a way that's easily sortable so we could see a player's stats in regards to various killers or survivors.

I've always wondered where I stood compared to other Hag players :)
