Does anyone actually use his portals? if so how and when do you use them?

I do, but im no good at using them. Im happy when they get destroyed tho because that means they wasted like 10 seconds disarming it

I usually put them close to generators behind walls.
You can surprise people that way if they don't pay attention.

What makes me a good Demogorgon!? Well, if I was a bad Demogorgon...I'd be playing a different Killer.

His portal's are super important. As long as your not putting them in the middle of the open you can get a lot of use out of them.

I like leaving portals in the open where Survivors will run past or destroy. I like to get the information through Killer instinct and Survivors are free to destroy my portals if they want to spend time doing so.
Activate as many as quickly as possible and make use of the information. Portals in grass are hard to see also.

Not for the first 2 gens but for the last 2 gens I use the portals quite often. Somehow I got into a 3-gen-strategy-gameplay with my demo with Surveillance, Thrilling tremors, Pop goes the weasel and Surge. And for me it's really efficient.

Two possibilities:
Use addons that make it harder to remove the portals and place em directly on gens.
Use addons to boost your shred and hide the portals to get the first hit easily.
"Corrupt Intervention" is needed.

I always place my portals around gens personally but hidden enough to not be instantly taken out.

I place the portals during my initial patrols and use them after hooks as needed. But I typically don't use them until I have a bunch laid down.
