If they made a DBD 2
I’ve been around dbd since launch. Stopped playing months ago because of boredom. I have over 1000 hours played on the game. Just wanted to give some details so I can say I have some credibility to speak on the game lol...
Anyways, I still occasionally check in on this game. I love horror. I was thinking recently, what if they made a “dead by daylight 2” game? I would want the survivors to have different ways to defend themselves. Have 1 killer with powers like usual, but remove this whole looping and pallets thing. It’s honestly kinda lame and tiresome once you get a decent amount of playtime in the game.
To me, survivor still doesn’t take much skill. I know that’s subjective but it’s just my opinion. I want to see more skill based gameplay on the survivor side. It also needs to be a team effort to survive. You could argue it’s already like that but how hard is it to hold RB on a gen and hit “skill checks” that take hardly any real skill? The flashlight save mechanic is great. I’m not sure what other mechanics to defend yourself from the killer could be implemented but that’s the devs job. What do you guys think? In my opinion, having skill based defense options with harder challenges makes the game more fun. Surviving actually seems rewarding... not easy or slightly tough.
I think dbd is great and despite some of its flaws, it can be fun. I just would enjoy seeing a change up to the core game. Maybe that will never happen. Anyways, thanks for reading lol. I know maybe this came off as rambling nonsense to some of you but I just felt like posting after not posting for months 😂

I don't like the idea of making a sequel to a game that has no story mode attached to it so if we were for some reason to get a DBD 2 and it was still just a assym multiplayer game then I wouldn't buy.

If they changed how the core game was played, I may buy. A story mode isn’t necessary to me in a game like this. It’s multiplayer.

They tried a dbd 2 it was called Deathgarden it died

Overwatch 2 is a thing and it's literally the same game. I won't be too surprised if DBD does the same thing.

That makes no sense. Death garden is a shooter with different game mechanics.

Overwatch 2 did incorporate PvE and has a story type mode. The multiplayer is still the game basically. They incorporated a new game mode but it’s honestly pretty much the same payload mode but with a tug of war robot lol

If they did a complete overhaul for the PS5 (XBox Scarlett?) then I could see them making a DBD2, but I agree with your point otherwise.

It was exactly the same as dbd but the killer had a gun and the survivors were quicker

There was no looping. The “killer” had more of a chance of winning than in dbd. Not saying much more than dbd but more... the core gameplay is not the same as dbd. That is the point

They need some big overhauls for me to consider buying a game that is still just multiplayer. Because otherwise it can easily just seem like they are trying to sell the same game twice.

I mean if you're making a sequel you do want more and the mechanics to be slightly different

Yeah that’s what I want: big overhauls. The game would still have survivors vs a killer but with different objectives and defense abilities.

I wouldn't mind testing out such a gigantic overhaul in there.

If we get dbd 2 I would love to see our now survivors as killers like they almost all hope and now they serve the entity, I think that would be awesome

If they would release DBD2 they should advertise it as the first ever game with RNG hit registration because I'm sure it would be as such...

DBD 2 won't work, first off since most people will want their old mains in the new game, and also because you would have to buy the licensed killers again(if they do come back)

Overwatch 2 has Blizzard Activision tag attached, it will sell by sheer marketing brute force, Behaviour isnt big enough to sell their products just by brand name.

honestly they should have a game mode where the survivors can I don't know instead of completing a generator can build a parts for a gun or something and then shoot the killer end in the game like that like as a new game-mode it'll be interesting for the survivors to try to kill the Killer maybe it's the killer can have like a health bar or something.of course the killer would probably do the same thing hit twice put on hook sacrifice maybe they would change it. I don't know
