Harassment
Now listen, is it just me? but does anyone agree. That harassing the killer/survivor should be a lot more punishable. Cause I mean I think it should. Why? I mean why harass the killer/survivor if the match didn’t end up in you’re favor. Why, spend time harassing them. Now, to me I get hate mail and harassed a lot. From SWF. Or solo survivors. Now I play both killer/survivor. But the thing is. If the killer is doing what a killer should do. Eliminate you as quick and fast as possible. But yet, some survivors think it’s ok to harass the killer, cause they didn’t get there way. I’ve gotten plenty of hatemail. Some messages will say “trash killer” or my favorite “why camp” or “stop tunneling” I’m sorry to tell you. But if I see you in my game it’s my rules. But I don’t camp. Do you guys think should there be a lot more punishment for harassment? Let me know what you guys think.

Well, are you camping Or tunneling like they say? I don't condone harassment ofcourse but this sounds like the cause.

I never said it's a reason to harass someone..? but it IS going to attract bad messages in reality. And the things you've listed cannot be compared to camping and tunneling, it's the objective.

A killer can play however they want.. if a survivor doesn't want tunneled use ds.. if they dont want slugged.. use unbreakable... if they dont want camped play swf with bt... anyone can play how they want.

You should just ignore them... sometimes they are just frustrated.. its dumb but meh.. they can get over it... a killer can play however they want.

I completely agree. I don't mind how people play or if I get harassment. If I get camped or tunnelled I just use DS and Borrowed Time. Especially after rank reset where it's common. I'm not saying harassment is justified, I'm just saying it's inevitable by the way you play. I get harassed for using DS and honestly don't care.

When I play as killer, I'm usually rooting for the good players. I don't get mad when they gen rush or loop me and get away. I think, "good job, but you will NOT be getting away next time you mother$#@%"

For me, receiving hate messages, is the best thing this game can offer.
I play other games, but this one is literally a salt mine

Will honestly I don’t camp. I stop camping when the clown was first introduced. I stopped but I do tunnel. But I try my best not to tunnel. But i love to play mind games.

Harassment is never good, but if you're tunneling and camping, yikes. I'm a killer main, and I will try my hardest to not do either of these things.

If I get camped/tunneled 3 matches in a row. I get frustrated. Usually I play leather face and camp my little babies. Sometimes, someone sends de a friend request and sometimes, I add them (temporarily) as friend. They are always mad and they try to harass me. Personally, I'd love that and gives me a boost to camp more survivors ;)

I'm brazilian and I'm already in doubt if I'm still a human because argentinians call me an ape all the freaking match I'm playing killer. It doesn't matter if I 4ked them or I got humiliated for 3 minutes (the time necessary to repair 5 gens).

If you play on PC, turn off public comments on your profile. Turn off chat. If it is the same players insulting you consistently consider making a report in-game and to the support for targeted harassment - this only applies if the same players are doing this though. I am also unsure whether verbal abuse falls under targeted harassment or only in-game actions such as always using a mori on a certain player or always disconnecting against a certain player but it seems reasonable to me that chat harassment would be included too.

"trash killer" is a harassment? jeez I saw it coming. In 2020 probably half of the dictionary will be marked as not-pc, ptsd triggering bannable offense

As a killer that camps I get alot of messages post game but I dont care. Honestly get over it some people are so sensitive.

1. The devs are NOT the internet police.. posting on your steam/psn/xboxlive profile is a valve/Sony/microsofts issue not a BH problem
2. It's 2019 on the internet, if you can't handle a little harassment, then power off your PC/console and go outside.
So many sensitive people out there these days.. if you really can't take the harassment, private your profile or instant leave following the match... Don't cry and ruin the smack talking fun for the rest of the world

If the internet meanies hurt your feelings, perhaps take up painting instead of online gaming. Stop asking others to solve your own hang ups and ignore the crybabies or block incoming messages.

Can only speak for myself but I think there should be a harsher punishment for serious hateful speech, not talking about camper, noob, ggez and the like. There are some really awfull people out there playing this game who sadly up to this day face no real consequences for their actions (same goes for dcers). Just a week ago or so a salty killer in the endgame chat told me he would "sexually assault me" (the r-word was dropped; I wasn't being mean on my side) which unnerved me greately. Reported them of course but I don't think it will do anything. And all that was after a long time having chat permanently closed. Guess I'l be back to that =/

Pretty sure if you receiving hate mails consistently it says much about your style of gameplay, you most probably are the the type of killers to proxy camp and tunnel from what i've read about thus, nothing much can be done honestly, just ignore them and move on to tunneling/proxy camp the next game ಠ_ಠ

Why dont you try playing with class. Killer is not that hard 9/10 games, unless it's SWF. Crocodile tears, maybe you could just have a good time. Instead of making up for the fact that you can't win in real life..

As I say toxic = toxic. If they believe you were being toxic then they're going to be toxic back. It's just how things play out. So, if you play in a way that many survivors view as toxic then you can pretty much expect those kind of messages. Just block people not on your friend list while you play this game. lol No more messages.

Serious harrassment and abuse, if it occurs in post-game chat, is reportable, and people can and do get banned for it. So there are already some pretty harsh punishments in place, if you alert the support team to the problem using the in-game report system.
If it's happening outside the game, they can still be punished for it, but not by BHVR. In that case, you should report them using whatever system your platform has for flagging harrassment and abuse.

Who decides what's "the spirit of the game"?
You are talking about some made-up "rules" where the killer has to play generously, is not allowed to play efficiently, has to be the fun-provider for the survivors and where at the same time survivors are very well allowed to focus on getting their objective done.

Us. The players, who else? I'm not saying anything about rules at all. It may not be illegal or against the 'rules' but there's a reason why people complain about it. Same as survivors who hide in lockers and just crouch around a rock. This is ' surviving ' but still bullshit. There's a reason why there's a score penalty for staying near hook

Everyone can play how they want. No matter what either side wants to say. Be as toxic as you want at your own risk. I throw around derogatory terms in post game chat and have never been banned. That doesn't mean I don't realize I MAY be banned.

Well if they're solely doing gens and not other things like rescuing survivors, healing, cleansing totems and just interacting with the game in general... Yeah. It probably is a problem.

Why is it ok for survivors to run keys and other good items and send nasty messages but I cant play the way I wanna play?
