for the love of god, rework the emblem system already!
yes, this is a rant post.
if you dont want to read another rant about the emblem system, dont read any further.
so i just played a billy game.
the game was over within 5 minutes with a crushing victory for me, 2 ragequits, 1 sacrifice and one guy not only 4%ing off the hook, but also having the hatch spawn literally next to him.
so a 3k.
here are the emblems i made that game:

so i am getting harshly punished for THEM pulling the plug / crashing?

why is there no compensation for DCs yet??? not only Emblem wise, but i also didnt make many BPs at all!
why on earth am i even able to depip with a 3k in the first place???
i literally did more than i have to (your own words: "the perfect balance is 2 escapes and 2 deaths" - so this should equal a safepip, shouldnt it?) and i still depipped?
here is how i think things should definitely work:
killer:
1) a 3k means you did more than you should. since there are also tons of secondary escape rounds for the last guy, a 4k isnt very common, so this is the most common outcome if you played well. this should always equal at a safepip at least. you really cant call this a loss.
2) a 4k means you did everything you had to. you not only killed the first 3, but you also denied the 4th guy his escape opetions, so this should always equal a pip at least. you killed all 4, its an absolute victory for you, obviously you are too good for the rank you are currently on.
survivor:
simple. escape = safepip at least. you won, you shouldnt depip for getting this (i know thats rather rare but if i do such a thing for killers i also need to do it for survivors).
there we go, two simple fixes to prevent such annoyances of a game i just had.
sorry again for the rant, but this just annoys me and since nothing has changed in the past years, i feel like pointing this very obvious design flaw out once more with the hope of them fixing this in the future.

PS: i am not ranting about the DCs, as the devs have shown there will be an upcomming DC punishment. this doesnt mean this topic is off the table (we still have hook suicides), but its a lot better than now.

Every killer agrees with you. No one understands why they made it so killers HAVE to play with survivors to pip up. It's so retardedly unbalanced and in the survivors favour. Then again, what isn't in this game? I kinda stopped playing for a while til they even attempt to fix this because I depiped 4 times in a row with 4king with 5 gens still up as a freaking wraith. Good luck waiting for something to be done.

You're right that things like this do need to be fixed but I don't understand why it bothers you so much. It's not like there are rank rewards. I'm assuming/hoping that if there are ever rank rewards they will address this first. But until then, rank is meaningless and people often complain playing red ranks as killer isn't fun anyway

i dont really care about my rank, but there is no bigger drag down than having a good game where you did really good and the first thing you read is "entity displeased" or "brutal killer", even though you literally swiped the floor with them non stop.
the biggest thing is, that DCers get exactly the outcome they want with DCing:
you, the killer, lost not only tons of potential BP, but also get no emblems after all the ######### you had to go through to even catch them.
thats not the case in this game, ofc, but thats something that does happen more often than one would think.
i dont really care about the rank i ended up on, but i would be lying when i say i wouldnt care about the outcome of the game and my emblems. i always try to get a win, of course, and i know many others do so aswell.
its just a design flaw that really annoys me and i would like to see gone tbh.
also, i do like red ranks more than these purple ranks, since the players there are usually a lot more chill. tey dont tryhard as much as purple ranks do, so games there last a little longer than the 5 mins they last in purple ranks without ruin.

What kills me is if a survivor dies they still can pip but if I kill/sac for 2 or 3K I still run the risk of de-pip because they did their job too efficiently and I slow the game to balance. I'm not as stuck up on rank but if you put a system in place and say that 2K is the desired outcome for killers at base, at least adjust it so we're not ultimately penalized for doing our jobs.

if a 2k is supposed to be the desired outcome for most matches, i shouldnt be guaranteed to depip with that outcome!

they should make it so your emblems increase for every survivor that Dcs one DC's all your emblems are immediately bronze if two people DC two silver three gold and four red

I dont see the problem here, you depipped at purple ranks so you're now 1 match further from red ranks.....wish I was that lucky.

same for survivor what if the killer is ######### and chases one dude the whole game your benevolent emblem is usually terrible

I still don't see the reason they changed it from to second ranking cube.
1 kill = no pip
2 kills = safety pip
3 kills = pip
4 kills = double pip
This is literally perfect for killers. It would fix Adepts being bullshit, and the needless stalling if you want to pip. You are a killer, your job is to kill, not needlessly extend the game for no apparent reason.

i think a combination of both would be best.
the victory cube wasnt great, but so is the emblem system.
however, while one focussed only on the outcome of the game, the other one purley focusses on how you played the game, which is equally wrong.
while the outcome should definitely matter, the way the game went should also play a role.

Adepts for survivor are a piece of piss. You just have to play like you normally would and escape. For certain killers, you have to completely change the way you play/use their powers. The worst example of this would be killers with 1 shot capabilities, like Myers, Billy, or Ghostface, because for some reason, downing a survivor in 1 hit doesn't count as the usual 2. This forces you to use Billy's saw only for map pressure, use Night Shroud for sneaky hits, and forces you to completely ignore EW tier 3. Another honorable mention is Plague. Sickness damage doesn't count for emblems, nor does Corrupt Purge, and everyone is constantly being downed in 1 hit, ######### your emblems to kingdom come. I only got Adept Plague when I didn't even use her power once during a match. Emblems are so ######### it isn't even funny.
