I like the stats and I know it's the average.. But...
The Devs confirmed that Spirit is in fact Popular.
But Freddy is the Strongest. And a tiny bit Stronger than Spirit.
So here's my question:
So if Freddy on Average is in fact "Over preforming" (aka the Strongest)
Then why is Spirit getting tweaked instead of Freddy?
Like yes she needed addon changes and a slight speed debuff but other than that she should be basically untouched passed that.
Like yes she's popular. But average popularity shouldn't mean they should get tweaked. That should be an indication on what to do in the future. I might just be reading these stats wrong but.. It seems like the Devs are keen on tweaking popular killers instead of tweaking strong ones... (Based on the average stats).
But who knows. -shrugs- I'm just trying to under stand these stats better tbh and trying to understand why things are happening in the way they are happening.

dont worry mate, freddy and billy are next on the nerf list :)

Interesting isn't it?
Perception I guess. Spirit feels sort of unfair in a way that Freddy doesn't?

Freddy Definitely needs some tweaking, Like you get put to sleep extremely easily and his hit boxes are through the roof! Billy needs a charging up consequence so he doesn't just spam the charge at 99% all the time (same as Leatherface)...
Like I would understand her addon changes and adding a slight speed debuff. But the no collision doesn't make any sense. If she was able to collide with another survivor then that's that survivor's fault for not being aware. Heck you don't need collision to be a good Spirit. I just feel like she didn't need a change to her collision in phase.
Plus they nerfed Myers with the undetectable effect cause now anyone with spine chill can hide 100% quicker now than his previous patch.
(Also the only way to counter Spine chill with myers is to have an addon that charges up your stalk fast as heck and have the boyfriends memo so you can lunge)
So in my opinion, They are literally nerfing every killer who doesn't really need a nerf. Especially if they don't need a nerf to their base kit.

dont forget wraith tho, he can go invisible and hide his terror radius at the same time! how do you even play against this??? pls nerf this devs.

Well like I said Spine chill counters all... And Wraith is actually pretty visible if you are an aware survivor. (And yes maybe 1-3 times I've been caught off guard by a wraith but most of the time I see his little invisible air thing.)

@Micheal_Myers "If she was able to collide with another survivor then that's that survivor's fault for not being aware." How is that the survivors fault?? Tell me, how can you be aware of where she is? You still can't tell when she's phasing and you don't have a clue where she is so the core issue is still not fixed with these nerfs

Basically, it's because there's a lot more that factors into the decisions made to nerf or buff specific killers than just their average killrate.
People assume that the use of the word "overperforming" means that the Spirit had a disproportionately high kill rate, but the devs mentioned on the same stream, mere seconds after making that comment about the Spirit, that Freddy was actually the most lethal killer. So it's probable that there was a different problem with the Spirit that they felt needed addressing.

I suspect its because with Freddy he has counters that require skill. Whereas with Spirit its predominantly just a guessing game. Luck.

It's pretty simple.. If she's chasing you shes still gonna be following you. Use Spine Chill to tell if she's staring at you while phasing and just keep running her out until she gives up.
Plus since her prayer beads are now global instead of silent most likely people will know to be careful and when she's getting out of phase.

True, but collision wasn't the problem. And it never was a problem for me. Never once did I have a Prayer Beads Spirit collide with me in phase and hit me lol. But like I also said her other tweaks were justified.

A perk never has and never will be counterplay. And a good spirit can even use spine chill to her advantage, which to be fair is really difficult.
Anyway you didn't answer my question. Just because she's following me doesn't allow me to know her pathing.

But Spirit is still predictable. Predictability is the dominant way to counter a killer. You just have to notice the patterns. (Just like Freddy and his Fake Pallets.)
It just takes time for some survivors.

No with Freddy and his fake pallets its a memory game. Trying to recall which pallets were used and which ones were non existent when you were awake.
With Spirit you cannot predict what way she will phase, if she is phasing or vaulting, and with prayer beads you have nothing. Its all a guessing game.

False. If you use spine chill. If she looks away from you while she's in phase is meaning she's trying to mindgame you (She's going around the structure that you are going straight through)
So if that's the case turn around and run the opposite way, she then has to be out of phase and chase you in normal form. (Plus it is hard to sense if anyone has spine chill...)

Well in my experience I've out ran many spirits based on predictability. -shrugs- like I said though it comes to some people and not to others. It just depends on the player.
