How are the DG cosmetics any different from the bloodletting shirt?
So, from what I understand is that, Deathgarden is now F2P..meaning, if you add it to your account, you also obtain the Meg and Trapper masks in Dead by Daylight.
BUT, wasn't the whole reason of not including the bloodletting shirt in the "free exclusives for everyone" because you HAD to PURCHASE a product from BHVR in order to obtain it? The Deathgarden cosmetics are NO different, because, you HAD to PURCHASE a product from BHVR in order to obtain them, giving them both monetary value.
You MAY have an argument vs the PAX skins, but this, between the Deathgarden skins and the bloodletting shirt are exactly NO different, but you're giving two out for free, and not the other. Make up your minds.

^ i 100% agree, not only did i back deathgarden for the mask and found out that anyone could get it.. for $30 cheaper than what i did. But now it's free i feel like i waisted $40 for nothing.

They're different divisions of BHVR as far as I know. It would be the people behind Deathgarden who decided to make it free as it rots in the grave it's been sitting in for months.
Since the mechanism for determining whether you own Deathgarden seems to just check each launch (as they were lost after the free weekend if you didn't buy it) it's pretty obvious they haven't done anything to change that, or somehow "lock" whoever had it before it fully died and prevent them losing them while preventing others getting them.
Overall, however, it was never stipulated "these masks only go to people who paid for Deathgarden," the only requirement was owning it, which people who download it now still do.
There is no reason to add more exclusive items locked away from people, especially not now that we're taking healthy steps to remove the ones that exist.

well. those on console don't own death garden.. do they? so they can't get the mask then. simple.

I don't see why they shouldn't now. The cosmetics no longer have value as an PC players can get them for free. On top of that, there's no longer a chance that Deathgarden will be successful and make it to console, so they're not denying themselves money in future by handing them out.
I really hate people that scramble for reasons to deny other people nice things for absolutely no reason other than to feel superior lording it over them that they don't have it. It's a very childish attitude.

im not being superior or anything. Im just stating that they where for PC players who owned Death Garden and DBD. If they just change the reasoning now they could get into legal trouble.

Haha yeah, good one.

okay then, live in denile.

No, no, seriously; you think there will be LEGAL ACTION over BHVR releasing freebies for their own games, from a promotion with their own games, for something that has never been promised to be unobtainable in any other way, AND IS NOW ABLE TO BE OBTAINED COMPLETELY LEGITIMATELY FOR FREE?

I love your name, I really hope that if Bethesda doesn't create a disgusting cash cow for TES 6 we get the option to become a lich, it's my all time favorite fantasy creature.
Anyway, I paid for DG, never played it as I don't like shooters all that much despite playing F4 and Bioshock lol I paid them to support them as their game designs seemed far superior and balanced compared to this game. Seeing as that game is F2P though, everyone who bought the game oh well it doesn't matter because people can still download the game for free and get the cosmetics, so as of now you don't need to spend money to get those masks so they don't actually qualify as something you need to pay for anymore.
The Bloodletting thing though, I don't know much about, that was a store thing they don't have anymore I think? Sucks we can't get those and that they can't sell them again, why not sell them in the new store? Or create variations of those and sell them, something like that if it's such a big deal. Though I don't like Survivors wearing Killer avatars and insignia on their clothes, just seems weird they would have Trapper's face on their shirt and then get killed by Trapper.; that's some sweet masochism right there ;)

It's actually a World of Warcraft reference, but thanks.
Yes, when BHVR first released the store, for a limited time, if you purchased an item from the store, you got the bloodletting shirt as a bonus, for free. Same goes for Deathgarden, if you purchased the game, you got the cosmetics as a bonus, for free.

Whether it was stipulated or not, the ONLY way of obtaining them was always purchasing the game (I purchased it only for the skins). Guess what was the only way of obtaining the shirt? Purchasing an item off the shop.
Different divisions, sure, but it's still one company. There's always someone over it all, including both divisions.
No matter how you try to spin it, it's no different.
