Go play something else stop infecting dbd with your disgusting behaviour. The community has one of the worst reps in gaming history because of it.

Yep, my privacy settings keep 12yr olds from telling me they slept with my mom, sister, dog, aunt, uncle, cat, dad and parrot.

They also would record an audio message and say these things in the squeaker voice and follow up with hope you die and i reported you. Playstation is a wonderful place to meet people.

Oh, the rep is there. Hell, I witnessed somebody complaining about Toxicity in Rainbox 6 Siege and somebody that wasn't me commented "You don't know Toxic till you've played Dead By Daylight".

If we were bigger, we'd probably be compared to League of Legends or other MOBAs more.

I'm not sure what saddens me more, the people who lack any sort of basic empathy or their enablers who say "That's how it is, deal with it".

I just rode out my first 24 hour ban in this game - probably for disconnects - wasn't even mad about it. I was just glad to see the devs are trying to do something about it - even if it's like trying to clean up Toxic Waste with a baby wipe.

Was it a 24hr ban or you just couldn't login. It is hard to tell sometimes with this game.

Oh, it was an actual Ban. Steam gave me a nice big yellow alert I had never seen before. No message in game though. Game would function - sort of. As Killer, My lobbies would just stop for no reason, and as Survivor I'd be in matchmaking forever.

Makes me wonder if all these people not finding matches were banned but didn't get a message.

That´s cute. I´ve heard something like this on R6.
I always wonder how the parents of those childs are. Those games are for adults and kids play them. Do the parents know it? Do they care? Do they even control what else they do on the internet? So many questions.

They just posted that it was an overload from players trying to play the game and they couldn't support it in the current configuration. The segregated the data between pc/console. Pc is now stable according to them and console still has an issue. I only saw a couple lobby issues last night on console.

My son actually got me back in to playing video games. He saw things like Hello Neighbor, DBD, F13th etc ... I specifically got him PS4 (up to that point it was Wii and Wii U) so he could play f13th. 1 month in i started looking at his messages he was getting the most vile things said to him up to and including several dick pics. I spent the afternoon blocking and reporting 27 separate people. I had to change his privacy settings. He is squeaker, he is a kid but he isn't spamming messages to people telling them to kill themselves, or that he ######### a member of the family or the dog. It was mostly from F13th because they could hear him on the microphone. Luckily DBD doesn't have that built in to the game or things would be much worse.

Interesting. But do you think its good for your son to play DbD and F13th? I mean there are some really gruesome deaths. I don´t know the age of your son and i don´t want to ask here. But unless he´s 16, i wouldn´t personally let him play those games.

That depends on the child. Some have a much firmer grasp of what's real or acceptable than others.

I never personally gave it much thought until my playthrough of Halflife 2 many moons ago. My wife tapped my shoulder and had me look to my left. There was my oldest, maybe about 3 or 4? He had some duplo blocks made up into a handgun and was pointing at the screen. He had a look that said "I got your back dad". After I got over the initial humor, I wondered to myself (As I was still new to this whole dad thing) if I had made the right choice letting him watch me.

Fast forward into Ravenholm, and I'm getting chased by Toxic Facecrabs - and both my son and I are laughing at our own fright. I decide then "he understands this isn't real"

At 8, he asked to play Resident Evil 4. I allowed it on the condition he told me if it gave him nightmares.

Growing up, he played every violent game I played. Hell, he put almost as many hours into L4D2 that I did

He's now a young man of 18. Very easy-going, low-key - and teaching himself to code.

Of course, each kid is different. My son may of turned out fine and is probably one of the best teammates you'd ever have, but I still kept him offline till about 15 (and all his younger siblings are kept from offline gaming when I'm not around to monitor them),

I didn't like squeakers in F13, but I never judged the parents because I don't know their situation. But it still drove me from the game because I found listening to that crap off-putting. No all-chat for my asymmetrical horror games, thank you very much.

That´s an awesome story. Thanks for sharing!

As i said, i always wondered about this.
Since i´ve seen the hellspawns of other people at my work. And i was sure, that their parents either don´t care or don´t know how their children behave.

Or i simply met some horrible parents which forgot their child in a bar or left their 5 year old girl at a hotel pool, while they went shopping for the whole day.

My son is younger than 16. No nightmares and never been afraid of the dark. He is able to separate the difference between what he see's within video games and real life. He actually wanted to cosplay Dwight or Chad from f13th for Halloween last year but decided against it assuming people wouldn't know who he was. He actually enjoys the horror games more than the Call of Duty/Rainbow Six Siege that most of his friends play but ultimately he is big in to Fortnite more so for the goofiness than the competitive aspect of it.

I find it baffling that parents just let their kids play games designed for mature gamers and let them roam wild telling people to kill themselves and bully them for fun then act like they did nothing as soon as they finished playing. They are such self entitled brats who don't care about what they say because there are no consequences for it. If BHVR won't moderate it I would have hoped at least parents would be aware of what their children are doing on their computers. For this game in particular it has gotten completely out of hand, I don't even play DBD anymore because of it, honestly it was becoming so disgustingly excessive I was becoming one of them and had to take a step back and just not play the game for a while. A few weeks away from it has helped me to "see the light" and just how truly toxic the community is from the outside looking in. While you're in it though "some" are too absorbed into it that they will even defend it by down playing the whole thing and making out like anybody who speaks out against it has some hidden agenda which then turns into the person speaking out being harassed and thus the cycle begins again. I honestly do love DBD but so long as their are no consequences it will continue to happen just like in real life kids will push boundaries until they learn there are rules that will be enforced if they are broken. If some day players start getting warned/banned for harassing other people I'll gladly come back because then the kiddies will realize they won't get away with it anymore and that harassment comes at a price instead of being for free as it is now.
