Why didn't they give out the hound mask for huntress?
I was extremely excited for the new free cosmetics to come out (mostly the huntress mask though, as she's my main), but when I logged on today, I didn't get it, what happened?

Only four out of the eighteen cosmetics were not given out.
Uncoincidentally, they are also the only four that people actually had to work for.
People not wanting them to be given out to free was totally justified.

People EARNED that mask when the game was absolute dogshit as killer. I don't think I deserve that mask and neither do you.

I got the mask and kates shirt back then. I must admit first time hearing about the free handouts I really felt kinda "robbed". Though I feel bad for reducing the free giveaways, Im happy they found a way to handle the loss of others and dont give this stuff out for free.

I must not have understood this when I glanced at them this morning.
I'm sorry for those of you who don't get them for free, but I'm very happy that they found a way to keep these small symbols of dedication intact.
I no longer have any qualms about Legacy staying as rare as it currently is since it also is a testament to player dedication.
I'm very critical of the devs, but I appreciate this very much even though it's a small thing.

I wonder if I should send in another ticket asking for mine to be restored since DBD deleted mine(as well for many many others).

That's how I feel about the recent Spirit nerfs. Basically people complained enough about her instead of learning how to counterplay, so they just gave in and gave her every nerf people were asking for.

Tbh it wasn't too difficult to get that mask during that time since even I have it and I never play Killer. If you were at low ranks you just starting smacking a hook until the survivors understood what you wanted and you all worked together so they could get their generators finished and they'd let you get all the hooks you needed.
At least that's how I did it and remember many others doing it. Probably why they don't do the events that way anymore, it would just become a giant clustertruck of people not actually doing objectives but farming together to complete their event stuff.

I have the cosmetics and I still believe they should be given out. The majority of games I remember from that event were people farming them anyway because the events were ruining games with how they were set up.
I'm doubtful the majority of the people who own these cosmetics equip them aside from the Huntress mask. Would be nice to see more of them out there to see a higher chance of seeing them in game. What ever though.

I was all for them giving them out considering I just wanted my Pro-Pain hammer that I missed since I wasn't playing the game as much and it was a Killer side grind that I hated. Seems they backed out because people complained too much.

Some elite players who can't handle to give other enjoyment I guess. I personally earned them back then and list them due to a bug. All I want is have them back, idc if randoms who did not earn them get them aswell. Hell, if these cosmetics motivate others to play more just give it to them, it's gonna be more healthy for the game and the playerbase. I don't have to be a "elite player" Just because I have cosmetics not everyone has access to.

It's unfortunate that new players have no way to get those cosmetics. Ever since I started playing during last year's Hallowed Blight, all of the event cosmetics released have stayed obtainable through their store. The only ones that can't be gotten through the store are of course the ones that were given out before I started playing. It sucks.

I agree with them not being given out, but console players still should've received them due to not having the ability to participate in the events in the first place.

what do you mean? console was able to participate in every event that gave cosmetics (or at least for the donkey jacket, hound mask, propain billy and songbird kate)

Give it a shot. Now that they have this system of marking accounts with earned items maybe you'll get on a list or something :)

How so?
Howling grounds was on console and the skins were available to earn. The event was out 8 months after the console release so many have them.

The game had terrible crashes and bugs (still does sometimes) so it was unplayable
Btw crashes still randomly crash on console but nothing is done yet either
Edit: other console players I've talked to on the forums have confirmed they're not for console so playing then would have been for nothing cause there wasn't a way to unlock them anyways

The game wasn't in the best state for any platform and queue times could be horrendous. This is the argument many use as to why they shouldnt be released. Personally I don't care either way but I think they should be put in the store at least.
They were available for console though as many do have them as I said.

I worked for them too, but you don't see me complaining and keeping the devs from releasing them to everyone else. I don't really use huntress or david so i don't mind them giving them away.

I guess what I'm mostly peeved about is how the cosmetics are unavailable to get, which I don't completely understand why, they released the Feng and Ace cosmetics in stores, along with all of the halloween cosmetics, why cant these cosmetics be added? With legacy I completely understand why they wouldn't add it, as it's sort of an "early supporter" reward, but with these, they're essentially a yearly rewards from a yearly event.

ooof, I did write support a message but they gave me an automated response basically saying 'We can now tell who got the items during the events so anyone who lost them will be receiving them soon', that was all. :(

I own them all... i think people should have the option to atleast buy them atleast when the next event happens they’re in the store to buy and can do that every year.

The devs have said that they have plans to restore the cosmetics to all those who earned them during the event in the near future, so submitting a support ticket is probably unnecessary.

You say, as you complain about not getting ALL the free cosmetics. Did you work for them? No? Then stop trying to "complain until the devs give it away".
