How could you possibly think this was a good decision?
Playing rank 5 survivor because I keep deranking. Get into a match and im wondering why it seems like my team is so bad. Lead killer on massive chases and no gens get done. People refusing to let me heal them if we aren't out in some massive deadzone exposed corner.
Then I think oh yeah....the showing players ranks thing was a "bug" and they removed it. Then I realize my team was so bad because it had a perkless rank 20 on it and another guy who is rank 17.
If you are trying to stop new players from playing and veteran solo survivors like myself from playing you are sure onto something.Its not even like playing a real match...its just a joke that I have ZERO chance of doing anything other than failing at.
They don't want to play with me and I don't want to play with them. Put the damn rank signs back on....

Lol nice humble brag on the "If you are trying to stop new players from playing and veteran solo survivors like myself from playing you are sure onto something." part, that should not be happening unless one of the players was near your rank and is in a swf.

I am in rank 4 and in many games I get people from range 17-20, that makes no sense and is annoying because they don't know what to do, and I end up losing points, and all because they removed the signs of ranks in the lobbies

I actually thought they put those rank signs in because this seems to be happening so much more recently. It was a good idea that wasn't even an idea. Hell yeah I would rather wait longer than play with people who don't know what they're doing and not even be aware of this myself until we are in the game.
Tyde mentioned this exact thing in a video recently. I couldnt believe it when someone told me the rank thing was a bug and they intend to remove it. Seriously? As long as the killer can't see the rank and dodge for easy matches there is ZERO issue. Playing solo survivor is already frustrating enough if you actually intend on being a team player instead of a hatch sniper.

100% agreed, what I don't agree with is the removal of the sight of rank, makes rank even more useless, now swf is about almost your only option for consistent good Survivors.

The third guy on the team was probably in a SWF with those players. And matchmaking in a ranked based game like this with no casual option is never going to go well. Either they're really strict on it (which would effectively ruin a lot of SWFs and cause que times to skyrocket) or they're a bit more lax (which would lead to too many SWFs bullying low ranked killers). I think what they have now is the best medium thus far. Survivor matchmaking times are extremely long on console though, if they get any more complex those times won't get any better.

All they had to do was leave that rank list in so we could play as we see fit. What is the point of making a ranking system and having it not work? THEN removing something that actually allowed us to balance it ourselves.

they called "error" something that really was one of the good things about the game, now it's a random game where you can play with experienced players of your range, or players who bought the game an hour ago, it depends on how lucky you are , and it shouldn't be like that, or what are the ranges for?

I think yesterday I was matched with 5 Rank 20s over the course of 5 games.
The killer wasn't even anywhere near that rank, it was clear it was an SWF squad with someone new playing the game.
I don't normally dodge lobbies, but if I see a Rank 20 I will try to be cautious and change how I play to make sure I have the highest chance of surviving.

Bruh you wouldnt believe how often it happens, I'm rank 1 currently and I often get matched with rank 17+ I cant tell anymore until end game but I dodged every one of them

I get this until I'm a rank 7 and matched with a 13, 18, 18 (I don't know any of them) against a Rank 5 killer.
That shouldn't happen, right?

Same here. I am CONSISTENTLY being paired with rank 15-20s. I remember 6 months ago I just about NEVER saw rank 15+. I can even remember seeing one and thinking wow its been a long time since I actually say an actual grey rank in the lobby. Now its daily....damn nearly every match. What gives? Seeing the rank was the PERFECT fix.

It's because of the recent swf changes. For example, if a rank 20 and rank 1 survivor plays together, they get matched with rank 1 players.
It's so dumb that they are forcing people to play with total new players at the top rank and not giving us an option to dodge them.

In reality maybe they could just fix the game making more people comeback to the game que times less and make the game more popular but apparently let's just keep the game crappy even though we already have a bunch of content.

The main issue is swf match making is based on highest rank which discourages veteran players from getting their friends to play... I literally bought an alt account so my friends who just buy the game don't get their butts kicked and refund the game.. Idk why the devs think it's fair sticking red ranks with newbies

It was a very questionable decision to remove the ranks from the lobby. I get you'd have some people that would dodge but better that than have them rage in end game chat and complain after the fact.
