Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Strategies against Yamaoka's wrath slugging?

Besides the basic looping, I've thought of two:

  1. Hiding until Yamaoka's wrath expires.
  2. Getting inside a locker to get grabbed instead of getting hit to end his ability faster.

Any other ideas?

Why do you need more ideas? he announces to the entire map that he will be a speedy boi for 40 seconds

hide and turn him into an m1 killer again.

Hiding, trying to stay away from your teammates, Unbreakable.

Yeah, just use lockers until his power ends or work on gens and risk getting slugged.

    Same as EW3 Michael.

That's about it. When he downs someone with Yamaoka's Wrath, he loses a good chunk of his meter. He won't be able to reliably down more than two people without addons, unless everyone is bunched up for some reason.

I've been able to 360 the lunge, but it's a last resort if you get caught in the open. It's going to take the entire team to beat the Oni, which is what makes him so good. As others have said, lockers work. Don't get greedy at pallets. I've hit survivors with the dash at loops. You can also hug windows, but window hits are forgiving for the killer right now, so that's risky. Think of juking his dash like you would juke a Nurse. It's the same principle. A Nurse can't curve a blink and the Oni is very limited on his short range curving. You can run around some tires or rocks if you're out of options and he's in dash. The dash cooldown can buy you time to get to a pallet.

I find that it is really easy to just avoid the Oni. Hard to miss seeing him coming, whether or not he’s walking or dashing. If you’re a big chicken like me and run Spinechill and Premonition, and are not indoors, it’s almost impossible for him to find you as long as you hide the second Premonition lights up.

I also recommend using the thicken fog offerings, though that’s a double edge sword because you may get Ghostface or Daddy Meyers.

Have an upvote just for being one of very few people who understand the importance of poetic rhythm.
