DBD is pay to win

Freddy is the deadliest killer according to that stats. But he is locked behind a pay wall.

Thus if you bought Freddy DLC, you just bought power.

OK im being hyperbolic, but why would the most lethal killer be locked behind a pay wall?

God I remember when the counter to this used to be Nurse was free.

    What have we done.

Not pay to win, but pay to grind. Oh, you want more bloodpoints? Give us 5 dollars and you can have the best farming perk in the game...

She is indeed. She's just more difficult to use now. The whole concept of her power means she will always be top-tier. The devs would have to do a Legion-style nerfing to make her not top-tier.

Who wants to play a killer that is littered with negative feedback.

Also Freddy is statistically stronger than Nurse so, pay2win is technically correct now.

You can still win without playing the very-best killer in the game...

I really hate "pay-to-win" comments about DBD. Video game players are without doubt the most entitled group of humans on the planet. If you play on PS4 you could have got the game for essentially free through Playstation Plus. You could then unlock the majority of content through playtime. There are only a handful of killers and survivors locked behind a paywall and you can get all their perks for free through the shrine.

Now the majority of players aren't going to grind their way through all the characters. Because that truly is a brutal grind. But the game and all it's add on content regularly go on sales. I did the math once and you could buy the game with all it's licensed content for under 60 dollars when they have a sale going on. Considering that the game has constant on-going support and development it is quite reasonable.

This is the kind of game that could easily have taken a subscription path. They didn't do that. But it costs a lot of money to staff a development team. So in order for the game to continue being supported they have to make money. The path they have chosen to do that is quite generous considering what they could have done. And yet there are people that still like to toss around "pay-to-win" on the forums.

I guess Battlefront 2 wasnt pay to win then since you COULD get the lootboxes through playtime lol.

Also how long do you think its gonna take someone to get all the licensed perks they want via the shrine? a year? 2 years?

also to be clear i dont actually believe that DBD is ANYWHERE near as bad as EA Games. That would be insane.

But my point in the post is that by purchasing the DLC, assuming that both survivors and killer play amazingly, Freddy would get a slight win/kill lead over the non-paid characters.

I get that this is a minor change and i dont hate BHVR over Freddy being strong its just that i wanted to point out that you could technically purchase a slightly better chance at winning.

Its not huge or game breaking so it really isnt a huge deal.
