The Spirit changes did almost nothing to affect what makes her annoying to play against.

YOU. ARE. NOT. SUPPOSED. TO. KNOW. WHEN. SHE. IS. PHASE. WALKING.

Seriously stop asking. You would completely gut her if that was a thing.

The amount of ignorancy on this thread is astounding. She does need a telltale to her power, I like how a typical killer mains idea of balance is making sure the survivor has absolutely no defence against them. I'll say it again folks, when a Spirit stands completely still at a pallet it becomes a GUESSING game, yes I know it is quite a hard pill to swallow.

Countless youtubers have already explained this situation with actual evidence to back up their claims before, whether you want to believe it or not. In a game like Dead by Daylight you have no time to 'adapt' to the Spirit's gameplay, you don't have multiple rounds against her, you have a couple of chances to take a correct guess against her and that's that. You'll move onto the next match or next Spirit and they could play differently to the other Spirit and then you're back to square one. And even then the argument that taking a correct guess is counterplay towards the Spirit is laughable, for a start the guessing game is so swung in her favour, with perks like Stridor you completely negate Iron Will. I'll be fair though the likelihood of you winning a chase against a Spirit is higher when you're healthy, when you're injured however you're as good as dead especially if she has Stridor.

When you take a correct guess against a Spirit, you didn't outplay her, you guessed correctly, but guess what in a couple of seconds you'll have to do it again and the likelihood of you guessing correctly again dwindles quickly. I know you're probably screaming 'GEN RUSH HER GEN RUSH HER!' and yeah you're right most, of the times that I've 'won' against a Spirit were due to gens getting completed very quickly, its funny because nobody wins in these types of matches as nobody is going to pip for it.

alot of people said this. they changed the iceing not the cake. so her core annoyance is present shes just “less” annoying to a degree. but ultimatly id need to test more vs her

Would it really gut her though? She was bugged before and you could tell when she was phasing, it didn't really make that much of a difference then tbh.

    beatddb Member Posts: 565

You do get feedback of when she's phasing, things like footsteps (that are pretty loud) or her whooshing sound. And if you're in her TR just play safe and play like she is phasing.

Also, remember that spirit is a 110 killer and that her first hit is crucial to down you, if you can delay the first hit, chances are you're gonna delay the whole chase.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: there used to be a bug where the spirit whooshing sound played even in her TR and that made playing against Spirit a walk in the park. Knowing when she is fake standing at a pallet or using her power is too much of a giveaway and would drop her down a lot of tiers.

If you have problems with her, just run spine chill, its literally the best perk in the game against her and all other killers.

I'm so sick of these under 3000 hour scrubs trying to make everything in this game completely boring. You know what, go play sword and shield mufucker! Go play death stranding. Go play ######### hey you Pikachu, cuz you do not need to be playing games with other human beings since you can't possibly understand that both sides like to have fun...

But you like to accuse killers of robbing you of fun when they say there are scenarios where DS is unfair and a guessing game, or that playing the looping game is frustrating and not that engaging but nerf the only killers who change that formula up in any way... But you can have perks that reset pallets 🙄

Oh and don't think we don't see you scrubs trying to ask for Oni nerfs on week 1. 3 : 1, people who "prefer" survivor will ask for nerfs and people who prefer to play killers will adapt, or eventually leave because you guys keep trying your damndest to make killer completely unfun and a frustrating experience. #########, I left almost a year ago, I came back to play because I heard nurse would be nerfed and it was my last opportunity to have a fun experience with her..

Did you ever stop to think it should be hard to tell what the killer is going to do? Each killer is supposed to keep survivors on their toes with different styles and you are upset cause spirit is actually capable of it.

You can pin point her location the same way she does. Grass and crows are your enemies but also your friends. You can tell her location by looking around at the environment. Spine chill and premonition are good to. I haven't heard many spirit complaints besides prayer beads but ever since she finally got addressed its like everyone and their dog has an issue. She has counters and as a survivor you need to use them. She can still be looped and has tells for where she is.

Edit: a tell for when she goes into phasing would be helpful but survivors not knowing when she is phasing is one of the only ways she avoids being looped. Maybe a tell for when she's phasing unless she's in a chase

shocking how many ppl still complain about spirit. do you guys always just disconnect against her and thast why you dont know how to play against her? or are you salty that you can run her for 5 gens with your meta build like against every dull m1 killer? there is a ton of perks for survivors that helps you against spirit. maybe try to use them instead of your meta builds. also she is not much played anymore (at least in high ranks) since the nerf. so stop asking for even more nerfs and get a grip, she is fine now.

Tbh Spirit is only fun killer that I can play as now. The rest of them are boring af.

Yeah she's in a really awkward spot. Like they clearly knew to nerf her, but they played it safe by keeping her power almost 100% the same at base, and only addressing a couple of her minor annoyances to vs.

I have no idea how they'd change her to still be fun to play, but feel more consistent and fun to play against.

What do you mean it's overrated? Yeah, it doesn't help as much if you keep running and leaving a trail, or make obvious loops. But then, like Nurse, you can't do that. Think outside the box. Back track, head behind a tree instead of that nearby pallet. Hide behind a gen instead of vaulting that window. If you tie in non obvious routes while taking away audio tracking, you'll beat her far more than if you just try simple loops.

To those saying she needs more audio ques when phasing, she emits white noise. The closer she is, the louder it gets. Use that.

Lmao, she lose her * old vault animation wich wasn't a vault animation btw but you understand me!

You can try those but if I know what i’m doing then you’ll need pallets and windows. This is how I counter her as survivor and it works better than anything I ever did with Iron Will.

I hate when people say “just bring spine chill” or “just bring iron will” when there’s literally no way of knowing which killer we get

Insane how some don't like diversity in games. There is a reason we have more than one killer in this game and no matter if you play killer, survivor or both that is what makes this game good.

Let's remove all perks in the game also yes? Because some are better or more fun than others and we can't have that.

I think its fine. what was overperforming was her addon not her basekit even if the collision was super strong and not intended. Now she requires a bit of brain to play and experience to play against.

  • Rasinbran
    Rasinbran Member Posts: 240

Yup they need to keep the low skill high reward killer viable so the wannabe killer mains can play something other than Billy.

  • Alaina
    Alaina Member Posts: 36

Ah didn't know that smh. It should, that would solve all the problems. She'd still surprise people but if you pay attention you'll be able to have some counterplay. I always assumed she did because grass and corn moves on the killer screen

My claudette doesn't have much unlocked but I've been slowly moving towards the meta. Exhaustion perk + 1 other (maybe decisive when I do unlock it). Botany Knowledge has been fun paired with a medkit to heal myself even quicker after being unhooked and to be a quick healer when unhooking others.

Spoken like a survivor main who wants easy 6 min wins.

  • Rasinbran
    Rasinbran Member Posts: 240

No more like the killer main that devoted countless hours on nurse and huntress.

Just have standards higher than most I suppose, rather than being a Chad Billy main or a sweat spirit that farms for purple add ons on survivor to play her.

I disagree, I haven't fought many spirits, but the ones I have are so much nicer too fight. It's no longer luck based for me at least. When I juke a spirit it feels like I did it with skill, not with luck.
