Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Balanced Landing is still useful guys.

Blah blah blah, infinites are gone, BL is garbage... for chases at least. Balanced is good in a chase for one use, but it is basically a stealth perk more than anything now. Working on any gen in a 2 story area makes a silent getaway very possible with the 100% reduced grunting while you're falling and landing. I've effortlessly juked killers on the swamp and Lampkin Lane thanks to BL covering my noise.

What disappoints me though is that I thought the reduced survivor noise was the new passive, but it is ALSO tied to the one time use of BL like the stagger reduction. Still, not as bad of a perk as many perceive its new version to be. It just needs to be used differently.

Not as bad as when they changed how exhaustion perks worked. That literally killed Sprint Burst. Everyone switched to Balanced Landing, now that got nerfed (Not as bad). Head on is next?

People will overreact to any nerf in this game, no matter how small. You can rely on that.

Yeah this perk's still amazing, pretty much every exhaustion perk is.

Are you referring to when running pauses exhaustion? That was a fair change. Wouldn't know one player who would use killer and think it's okay to have someone prolong a chase because SB would activate again and again over time.

BL is just a win more perk now, and not worth taking. For stealth sure, but even then I’d rather quick and quiet, which works everywhere, and I can run and reuse it.

Honestly exhaustion perks are massively overrated. BL was only good thanks to the stagger reduction and bad map design. It’s useless on multiple maps, and you have to handicap yourself on others. They made it a garbage perk again, it’s more or less a meme perk now.

If that's the case they need to remove the exhaustion effect and the sprint burst from it and make it remove sound all the time and call it light footed or something. A chase perk that is also tied to stealth creates an identity crisis. You can't use the stealth in a chase and you can't use the chase aspect for stealth. It's problematic.

With the way the game works people prefer perks that have a use all the time. That's why BL was chosen over SB or DH.

Could not agree more. You can still get the speed boost when you jump off a cliff or a high place, but stealth is still huge in this game, so the 100% reduced grunt is like Iron Will on acid. But if you still want the speed boost you gotta take care of your exhaustion perk like you do with DH, SB, Lithe, etc.

Of course it is still useful.

Is it as useful as an effective 3rd health state? Absolutely not. Toss it in the trash along with head on, because dead hard is the new king.

I've always run Lithe over Balanced Landing anyway. Everyone who needed the BL crutch just needs to update their gameplay and get wrecked like the rest of us

I've been using the perk since the new update and I seriously don't see the problem with it. Sure some maps can weaken the perk but honestly it's still a pretty good perk.

If you consider "useful" as "Gets its effect". Sure. But then many other Perks are "useful", and still not worth taking.

BL is now one of them - sure you can get away in high Structures. Sure you might be able to lose a Killer when you drop and dont run. But is it worth taking? Nope. Even before, several Maps where you would not be able to use it effectively. This did not change at all.

The Stagger Reduction was the reason why you can consider if you want to use DH or BL. Since this is gone now, there is only one choice for an Exhaustion Perk.

It... Still has stagger reduction though. Its reduces the stagger from the first fall. It's just as good as before, you just can't use its passive effect multiple times in the same chase.
