Why do people keep blocking the killer as soon as he picks up a survivor?
I don't get it. You play survivor and you still can't realize how long the wiggle timer is and maybe it's not smart o give the killer free pressure?
Why this is still a thing in Red ranks is beyond me, What's the mentality behind it.

Probably to get WGLF stacks. Otherwise it's a dumb thing to do unless the killer has to travel far to hook .
4 -
Might also be that new Breakout perk, helping theirs friend wiggle faster.
7 -
I've been able to pull it off a few times
1 -
Sometimes, if the killer is a potato he whiffs his M1 trying to reach the blocking survivor and the carried survivor can escape the killer grasp
4 -
Because they’ve seen streamers or toxic players do it and don’t understand you need a plan, or at least an idea of how far the hooks are
3 -
There is also a new Achievement, Bodyguard, which requires you to take a hit while the killer is carrying a survivor, 30 times!
3 -
I do it for the new achievement...
5 -
Achievement, protection hits for MoM, trying to prevent the survivor being hooked, Breakout Perk, WGLF stacks...many reasons, none of them toxic and all of them part of the game.
13 -
Only valid reason is the first one.
The rest is just absurd since I always check which guy has MoM or WGLF. None of them has it post game. This is a recurring theme even before the breakout perk.

Or maybe they're just trying to stop their team mate getting hooked?? That's literally it. You may as well be asking why people sabotage hooks when the killer is carrying a player to said hook...
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but you may as well try. That's all there is to it. I very rarely body block the killer in this way but the last time I did it, was to save a tunneled Dwight on his last hook and it worked.
2 -
You're just giving needless pressure to the killer and make it hard for the whole team. You're not stopping anyone from getting hooked.
There's a clear difference between trying to body block a killer that's been a carrying a survivor a decent or long time than literally body blocking the killer AS SOON as he picks up a survivor.
The latter is just plain stupid.

most of the time not, only if you’re a 4 man and sabo some of the hooks in the area, otherwise it’s useless Bc all the hooks are so close together. You ever tried to sabo without atleast one other person helping? Absolutely pointless. Only viable in swf. You need a perk build for wiggling plus someone to take hits 99% of the time to get off the shoulder.

I don't get why it's a problem.
If they manage to help their teammate escape, then they were right to do it. If they don't you get some free hits.
It's absolutely ok and not rank related imo.
3 -
Only problem here is you don't know how to read.

I LITERALLY just told you I stopped someone from getting hooked by doing this. I saved him and we all escaped because he helped body block me at the end of that match when I'm the only one injured near the gate. I body blocked him as soon as he was picked up because I knew it was his last hook. The killer tried to swing at me 3 times and only hit me once AND we were very close to a hook. It does work.
Don't ask for people's opinions if you're just gonna deny everything they say. People can play how they want. What do the killers always say about camping? It's not toxic, it's a playstyle, play how you want. That's all there is to say. There doesn't need to be a huge explanation for this - they can play how they want to play.
As you said, this gives the killer free pressure if it doesn't work. So I have no idea why you're so up in arms about this 🤔

Ok so :
Someone plays a way you don't like -> stupid
Someone disagrees with you -> can't read
I just hope you don't reflect the mindset of dbd community.
1 -
Have you never 99% saboed a hook? It's a very viable strategy. I've done it before but it wastes alot of time so I rarely do it.
0 -
But it's true though.
I literally said as soon as you picked up a survivor meaning the wiggle timer is at goddamn zero so you're not saving anyone but giving the killer needless pressure.
Again learn to read.
0 -
Again I can read and just don't disagree.
Sometimes it works, sometimes not, you're litterraly no one to decide if it's a good way to act or not.
0 -
And I'm talking about situations where survivors should know how effortless it is to try and stop a wiggle timer at zero because they should have long that damn timer is meaning I'm talking about awful situations where a lone survivor should never try to body block alone at the start and situations where it's a coordinated effort by the whole team and in extreme situations like at the exit gates is worth trying again that's basic common sense like the rest you don't know how to read.

Anyone with a brain cell should know when it's good to body block or not. Yes, Cost the whole team the game will ya. Pretty sure you're the 200 IQs who keeps mending on sloppy butcher legion only to get hit again 10 seconds later and not doing generators.
Hey I'm not the one to decide how stupid those decision is despite logic dictating that it is but whatever. No wonder the kill rate is high.

Dealing with diversity of teammates and playstyles is part of solo survivor.
If you want everyone to play your way, play SWF. But for that you need friends, which you may lack regarding how straight ahead aggressive you are.

As other people have started to notice, you don't like it when they disagree with you because apparently everything you say is fact. Again I will say, don't open a discussion if you're going to deny everything people are telling you. This thread quite frankly needs to be closed by a mod before it gets worse. I can feel the toxicity rising. Especially when you to tell everyone they can't read because they have a different opinion to you.
I will also say again that THEY CAN PLAY HOW THEY WANT. You can't tell them how to play. Maybe it's dumb of them to body block in those situations but it doesn't matter, it's a freaking game.

Agreed.
Personnaly I'm done with this thread as no discussion is allowed.
1 -
Actually due to the perk flip flop the wiggle timer can start as high as 50%

@Peanits This thread is starting to get out of hand with the OP pretty much calling anyone who he disagrees with an idiot and can't read. Discussion is also just going nowhere. Personally I think it needs closed before it gets worse but do with it what you will. 👍

If the killer is clearly carrying a survivor a long distance, taking a hit has a high chance of the survivor wiggling off.
0 -
How else do you sabo a hook without being a moron about it, of course I 99 The hooks. Even then there’s so many that if you’re doing it solo it’s almost pointless if the killer is any good, you’re not getting enough of them 99 in time alone for it to be useful. You need atleast 2 ppl doing it.
0 -
Wow okay. No need to be rude. You said it was useless to do without SWF but I've done it plenty of times so I assumed you were talking about a situation of trying to sabo a hook from beginning when someone gets picked up.
If I ever did sabo a hook, I'd usually do it by the gate for end game or next to a hook by a gen. I don't just randomly do hooks for the sake of it. It's not completely useless to do, you can get lucky.
Edit: looking back it wasn't that rude but came off as passive aggressive 😅 I'm just so done with this thread

It’s too luck based to do it alone. I’ve tried it several times, it’s not worth the amount of time you throw away as a SOLO. I would do what you did, these survivors would see me sabo the hooks and still run somewhere else to go down. You can be incredibly strategic about it ,which hooks, but even you nor I can fix stupid. There’s not enough tool box or time to compensate for it. Do it with one other person and you’ll see what I mean by for it to be effective. Bc the difference between solo sabo and duo or more is mind blowing
0 -
Yes, very true. I sometimes play SWF as a duo (no mic) and we've achieved the sabo hook a few times through pure situational luck. I usually just don't bother with sabotaging now, the most I will diverge from gens/unhooking is to get totems.

I'm going to lock this, as it's clear the OP is not interested in having an actual discussion about this topic.
