“If you want to succeed, play Nurse, Billy, or Spirit”
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single killer in possession of a large success rate against optimal and higher ranked swfs, must be in want of a Nurse, Billy, or Spirit.
Too bad I can’t blink, phase, or use a chainsaw to save my life.
*holds locket of Old Freddy, Myers, Doctor, and Plague* “and Iiiii will alwaaays looove youuu” (I really like new Freddy too, he’s definitely not a disaster like the Symmetra rework in overwatch, but I really miss seeing everyone and slowing the game down just a modicum amount - Old Freddy was my little gremlin.)
Also I got to fit an Austen reference into something! Woohoo!

Awww by why can’t I try to 4K with my legion? :(

I can't save my life even if I blink (Yes i'm talking about nurse TT)

:( You could try - I wish every killer was on a level where Nurse, Billy, and Spirit weren’t the only ones people point to to ensure a “fun” game against swf.

Did they Nerf Freddy?
I mean the new reworked one

"he’s definitely not a disaster like the Symmetra rework in overwatch"
I agree with this 1000%. I loved Symmetra 2.0 but Symmetra 3.0 is just... Blizzard why you hate her so much?
Anyway, on topic, I like playing Spirit but I'm also really bad at phasing. It does not go well.

If the killer plays by the survivors rules, they lose (ie the pallet looping game). This is why the "viable" killers are the ones with powers that counter looping and don't have to deal with it. To win with killers that play their game, there has to be a massive skill difference between the survivors and killers. I mean these survivors are messing up a lot. Which is where the common "it's more about whether the survivors screw up than how good I am" phrase comes from. I'm speaking of rank 1 games to be more precise, with the best players against each other in which you aren't going to see that large of a skill gap to make the difference. This scenario does not apply to low ranks where survivors just play badly enough that you can make anything work.
The extreme factor of:
Do they counter pallet looping?
Yes? Viable
No? Dumpster.
Shows how too much survival reliance is currently on loops.
I'd prefer changes that weakened looping but gave survivors other reliable ways to survive.

Love how the highest kill-rate killer among red ranks is STILL seen as not good enough, lol.

New Freddy is good as he works well on every map and has fairly low base skill ceiling while having all the tools every m1 killer wants, yet can still do some advanced stuff with proper trapping.
For example sleeping survivor wont get more than 1 vault against good Freddy in killer shack before they are forced to drop the god pallet or take a hit.

I miss Old Freddy too :(
I wish he stayed pretty much the same after his rework mainly because of how great it feels to be oppressive as "one of the worst killers in the game" back then. I will still remember the days of old Remember Me and old Freddy where a Jake tries desperately to escape only to fall to my claws.
The rework made him much better and easier to use, definitely. But I will still miss playing as old Freddy.

Those stats are heavily flawed and not remotely accurate as the devs even said themselves.

GF called and said hold my beer while you think of your favorite scary killer. Also love Re-work Freddy too. Those are my top 2, but I'm on ps4. Nurse is broken even worse now since patch, Billy loses frame rate everytime he chainsaws, and I'm just not a spirit player. Confuses the ######### outta me!

top tier killers dont depend on surv mistakes while the other low tier ones force surv to commit mistake to capitalize on it which is really hard against good survivors

This is the crux of the issue.
People want more killers that can make things happen if they're skilled, not just hoping the survivors are bad.

That obnoxious beam was the bane of my existance.
And the main point of this is not exactly correct. I've played Spirit for quite a bit, and have a decent build. Nothing too bad. I mean, Monitor and Abuse is pretty decent. I think.
1 -
I'd say Freddy is good enough.
0 -
Is monitor and abuse good on Spirit? I've heard Distressing is better.
And I was only saying I like Spirit but I am really bad with phasing even though its suppose to make her really strong. @.@

The did it because it took no skill to just kill everyone with her beam. That's where no brain = symmetra main came from. I really enjoed the old symm and even bought golden gun. But new symmetra is viable both in def and attack. Her beam charges much faater and deal more dmg if you manage to stack it up. But it also requires a litttle aim.

Clown had some REALLY good chase potential but the problem is his pressure is nonexistent.
They aren't inaccurate they're just broad

"Clown had some REALLY good chase potential but the problem is his pressure is nonexistent."
I actually wouldn't even say Clown counters pallets though. He just forces survivors to use them early. Unfortunately there are still too many pallets and the gens go too fast for this to matter enough. I agree he has no map pressure.
"They aren't inaccurate they're just broad"
Broad meaning they are incompassing a lot of extra factors that skew the data, ie not accurate.

People say that about EVERY hero that isnt aim oriented. Typically these heroes have more going on that just shooting, such as Winston jumping in to pressure backline DPS and support, while also peeling off flankers. If Sym could just mindlessly kill everyone so easily...she wouldve been picked a whole lot more than she was. This is going off topic of the DBD related thread here though...

Clown can cut off areas during a chase that makes it a risk to go to. And no, that's not how data works. What the graph says is what it says. The REASONING behind what the graph says is broad but at the end of the day it says what it says

You typically only see that from people who don't play both sides at high rank to understand. Unfortunately that is the majority of the population so they have a very skewed perception of the games balance.
When you play both sides at high rank you realize how overpowered survivors currently are. I get away with way too much on survivor and can mess up many times but still win. The majority of the killers rely on those mistakes to win which is bad in the first place but is exacerbated even more with all the "second chance" perks survivors are given to make up for the few mistakes they do make. The second chance perks are really unhealthy for the game. For the record I hate NOED too as I think that's an unhealthy second chance perk as well.
The problem is that the lower ranks you go, the survivors get really bad. This makes it difficult to balance from the top down as they should. That's why I really think they need a sliding scale difficulty depending on rank. IE make getting gens done take longer at high ranks and shorter at lower ranks. Now I don't specifically mean give gens more time, this could be in the manner of extra objectives even, I just mean the time to complete the objective in get out in general.

No, the reasoning is not the only broad factor. There are multiple factors taken into that "kill rate" that are not correlated with game balance but are included in the data. A lot of things would need to be taken out of that data to make it more accurate.
Yes the data says what it says, but the use of that data by the devs is what makes the data going into it not accurate for their means.

clown is hot garbage against survivors u dont loop him just slam a pallet on his face and keep repeating there are more than enough pallets on the map but he is actually threat on new maps with short loops like badham and hawkins
2 -
I never got to play against old Freddy. Why was he considered bad? I’ve seen some gameplay videos where I noticed you could only see him while asleep and when you’re awake, you could see the survivors body being carried off by an invisible man. I thought that was a nice detail and wish it stayed.
0 -
I'm ass with all 3 of those killers so eh don't succeed anyway
0 -
He was considered bad because he can't hit survivors without putting them to sleep first. Effectively neutaring his first hit.
But he is powerful as an information/slug killer. Old Freddy could see EVERYONE's aura outside his Terror Radius if they were asleep. Meaning Knockout, The Third Seal and Monitor Abuse were amazing for him.
