Is Oni getting adjusted soon ?
Playing solo survivor against an Oni has been a frustrating experience so far, no way someone isnt getting hit and boosting his powers to ultimate and from there he just keeps stomping and slugging, not fun at all.

Same thing as Myers. If he can capitalize on your teammates mistakes, he can activate his power. You can still do well enough to pip despite this.

They haven't announced any Oni nerfs yet no.

Have you tried learing how to play agaisnt him rather than calling for nerfs?

The Oni's not even been out for a full month yet? You can't ask for nerfs on a Killer who is new and can actually be countered by using safe spots and loops effectively.
Also, I would advise running DS + Unbreakable so that slugging is not an option. It is a hard counter and will force the Killer to start picking people up, as well as punishing those that tunnel too.

Oni sucks and just came out. Already with nerfs?

How do you play against Oni ?

As posted by another person on the forums earlier today, Tru3 has a video on it already.
2 -
Never let him out postion you if he catches you off guard you're dead, 360 his lunge as its pretty easy to dodge and never run in a straight line. Its also depends on the players skill level a good oni will usualy try and cut you off
5 -
I have played against him 10 times already. He's not that difficult to beat, he literally a weaker Billy.
Most safe zones basically wastes time on his power, and you can run unbreakable to counter his slugging.

Can we please not circulate this video as a tutorial on how to counter Oni. He literally never gets chased with the Oni's power up a single time the entire match.

Imagine thinking the Oni, a killer just as easy to loop and juke as any other killer, needs to be nerfed.
I hate to be that guy, but git gud.
8 -
Oni will likely get buffed actually, to deter slugging. His power can be denied for a LONG time if he chases good loopers. Sure, he can stomp noobs who give free hits and panic at pallets, but ANY killer can do this.

Hes ok. Theres a guide on youtube by Tru3Ta1ent on how to outplay him. Highly recommended and I think if every survivor watches this they can adjust with him.
1 -
He literally shows you to stay near safe loops, and to be careful when he's using his power. The point to avoid the power!
Just treat him as you would Billy, his power is only up for around 50 seconds without add-ons. It's not that hard honestly.

Posted it above haha.

He really doesn't need changes. He hasn't been out long. You just need to learn how to play against him. Killer players wanted him buffed, he's just a harder character to play and so will take more time. He is genuinely a very balanced character. He just takes more learning than others to play and outplay. Don't beat yourself up for losing a lot to him, he's new. Don't say he's broken either. He's new. Just give yourself some time. Some killers you'll personally find harder to fight against more than others too, take that into account. I personally struggle against billy, on Xbox. My friends can really shine but I can struggle. I know that's my own issue and not his, and that he isn't broken.

Well billy is one of the best killers in the game and Oni shares a lot of similarities with him, maybe too many so that could be why he is so strong and need adjusting in terms of how easy it is to get his power charged up because someone is getting hit, that truetalent vid is definetily an exception not the rule cos i never had a game where someone didnt get hit and then Oni get out of control real fast so something needs to be done, hope the devs know this.

That's literally the counter to every killer in the game.

- Get a bad killer
- Make a click-bait title
- ???
- Profit!

Man you kids love showing tru3 on this forum, you realize this was map specific right? If this were a map like most of the rotten fields good luck.

You might not like him but he has incredible knowledge and ability to play the game. I'm not his biggest fan, but damn if he doesn't get results. No, I don't agree with him on the Wraith before you say anything about that in advance.
Also stop making Oni out to be a god. He is far from the best killer in the game. People need to adapt to him because he is new. The same thing has happened with each Killer that has come out.

If they legion oni i'm gonna be really sad. He's in such a good spot at the moment and got good counterplay, any nerfs could make him a plaything for any survivor.

survivors just want killer to be m1 and they should be able to loop him till daylight sounds interesting

I find it incredibly hard to play as the Oni.
First, Im playing on console, so whenever I charge my strike it's impossible to keep track of the survivor. I need to strike them when I'm right on their neck!! Also, he controls like a damn truck.. I find it really difficult to maneuver him around corners.
Also, if Im not wrong.... he seems to have a larger "frame". I seem to get stuck at stuff on loops far more often than the other killers, what makes me run the loops far less optimal.
It could be just a steep learning curve.. but so far he seems to be easy to loop and hard to control. I'm enjoying him and learning as I play, though.

Quick question by being in "a good place" mean that you get a 4k and all the survivors depip or safety at best?
New idea! Best one yet! Replace all survivors with bots and the only thing people can play is killer! No one else but the killer is allowed to have a good time or earn any progress in the game, right? Otherwise that means he's in a "bad spot" because even the "worst" killer having a 60% chance to have a 4k at red ranks means the killer is absolute garbage!
Killers are so disenfranchised! Why it's simply a miracle any killers play at all - but hm.. I wonder why that killer queue time keeps going up exponentially every week..
Get a friggin' grip, he snowballs out of control and all he has to do is bloodlust gamer you and THAT doesn't take long enough to do 2 gens. I'd rather have a friggin' camper than a killer that literally wins after two attacks. Whats next? Killer that hits you once and the entity kills everyone?

Go in a locker when he gets his power.

The only somewhat counter I’ve seen to Oni (powered) is on this video at 3:30-3:50...
No clue how effective it is though as I’ve only been playing killer... can the Oni player slow down soon enough and block? Alsorts of questions on it.

He was already adjusted. The ptb version was much more powerful.
He felt a bit overwhelming to me at first but I'm fine with him now. You learn how to play against him after a while, have some patience.

He is S-Tier and unfun to play against.
He will get his well deserved adjustment soon.
2 -
So what do I against an Oni with his ability on?
All I learned is that its easy to loop a Killer without an ability(What a surprise!). Hope for a teammates to do most of the important stuff.
Gotcha.

Since you all insist this is the number 1 counter-play of the century

Someone with a Head On icon should understand the power of lockers!
Really though, stealth is his worst enemy. It's why he has an Ultra Rare to soft counter it. Unlike Billy, his power has a timer.
If he starts slugging you hide in lockers until you hear his *OOOOUUUGGH*
Even if he mega minds and finds you, at the very least you lessen a continued snowball with his power by getting grabbed.

Yikes. People actually complaining about Oni? When he doesn't have his power he is an M1 killer. When he activates his power you can do two things, both of which work very well: loop, or hide. I've been playing both Oni and survivor against Oni, and so often I've seen survivors running in the open as if unaware that Oni's power punishes that harshly. Loop well or stealth well. You can punish him for activating his power by doing those two things.
Like billy, if anyone on your team is not good, you are probably going to get stomped. Billy can stomp teams with one weak player, and Oni can do the same. That's a rank/matchmaking problem, not killer problem.

People are crying about Billy with a timer? I really don't understand, is it that his blood power gives him limited tracking as well? Seriously, ######### is this about snowball? Billy and Oni do well on exactly the same maps, the only diff is Oni has his.insta without dash, but it still needs charging...
Seriously, can someone explain it? Or is it just going to be "oh how do you block LOS? how do you loop a killer with such a HUGE frame that takes longer to circle loops? How do you HIDE FROM THE KILLER?"
Jesus H.

People bringing in Tru3's 2 videos, lmao. One video he gets downed quickly after failed miscalculations of Tru3 (haddonfield), the other one he loops him a bit without his power on on a pallet rich big map. Yawn.
Anyways.
On the other hand, you have Scott Jund's playing Oni and doing 50 4k's in a row in red ranks. What about that?
Oni is just simply not fun to play against. His power is simply not fun to play against, and it has barely any counters. Unlike billy, an Oni has way too much control on his dash and instadown and can turn extremely fast 180 degrees and instadown you. His power lasts a long time and can basically be kept from a hook to hook, and it also promotes slugging and cheap gameplay. His power basically has very little to no drawbacks - from missing his power hits, and to zooming around with super control.
Also, it's much easier to know where Billy is coming from than Oni. It's a huge thing as well.
In the past several days, it seems that most people finished leveling up Oni, and red ranks are Oni infested. Feels like 80% of killers in red ranks is Oni Oni Oni, and he usually wrecks my team as a solo survivor.
It's just a bad design of a killer IMO. I wish they would introduce new interesting mechanics into the game, and not just release a boring concept of a killer that is (arguably) OP because he's just more powerful with existing mechanics. Yawn.

Onion with Iron Maiden is extremely fun to play against. I honestly wish that every killer had set-ups like this to be somewhat threatening even if you counter their power.

Played around 20 games since early this morning; I encountered not one Oni. Seems the honeymoon is wearing off.
0 -
Oni does not suck at all. He's a very very strong killer with a smart player.
0 -
Unfun is definitely one way to describe this gaming experience with the new killer.
Frustrating as well.
1 -
Oh sure, very very strong. Maybe against potatoes
0 -
Yeah, you know, actually playing the game and survive.
Stealth during his only 50 seconds of actually being able to do something so you can treat him like every M1 Killer.
Actually doing Gens helps you to win.
0 -
But I never said anything about Oni, I was only implying that he's a map specific killer in terms of strength.
0 -
Em...so they nerfed the flick exploit and the unlimited aura read addon now. I'm okay with both, i don't used both anyway. What are your following nerf suggestions?
0 -
Unless the Oni is stupid and got dominated that badly by the survivor matches aren't going to go like that. You got so immersed that you forget this is a team game with randoms.
0 -
It doesn't matter anymore anyways. He's worse than Billy now.
His flick's not around anymore and the hitbox on his M1 insta-down is smaller than Billy's too.
