How would you rework the Nurse?
I feel like the devs have put her in a corner. A lot of survivors have taken to saying 'such and such killer is unfun to play against.' I'm going to say that 'such and such killer is unfun to play as.' Nurse is in that category. There are just so many drawbacks to her power. Fatigue, movement speed, timers to both for consecutive blinks/missed attacks, and now her cooldown. Just drawback after drawback on her, not to mention her already high skillcap required (outside old Omega Blink), which was set even higher with that cooldown. Where do you go from there? I doubt she'll be getting anything in the form of a buff, or a change, to her power. When the devs said 'small tweaks,' I didn't imagine that would mean 'lets slap a cooldown on her cooldown.'
So, just for fun, how would you rework or modify her, to MAKE her fun to play as/against? Buffs, changes, even MORE nerfs, maybe?

I'm afraid to let the Devs touch her any more.
The addon changes were needed. Are they ok now? I don't really care tbh.
Basekit I feel was unwarranted. But if a cool down is needed it should apply after a swing, hit or miss. Fatigue has a spot for moving around the map and cool down adds time for a survivor to gain distance after getting hit or successfully dodging a hit.

That would probably make nurse more tactical and fun. Good idea!

An idea I heard that I've shaped into my own:
You have a power meter that is continuous instead of discrete like it is now. Meaning you can draw from it to charge blinks (1st blink is regular amount, 2nd blink is x2.) No idea what the total amount should be, but enough that you can infinitely blink around with 1 blink (map pressure) but doing double blinks back to back would be limited to like twice or 3 times. The meter slowly recharges throughout the match not interrupted by anything.
What this does is reward using your blinks effectively since a fully charged blink will draw much more than shorter blinks for re-adjusting, mind games, etc... and it also limits the double blinks like the devs want. It is better than our current version because you aren't limited after every single blink and forced to play certain ways, and it actually rewards using blinks in a smart and effective manner unlike the live version which doesn't reward smart or bad play it just limits what you can do with her.

Just remove some suction passing large objects (to the point she can actually navigate the Demogorgon map), fix the M2 bug that can happen and fix deadzones on the new map then she’s set imo.

That's the inherent problem with her though, without some way to force mouse users to have the wildly inept turn ratio of a controller there is no way you could do that.
I mean you could shadownerf her sensitivity to like 0.6 but that would just be dumb.

I would delete her and then let out an evil laugh as I twirl my villain moustache.

Revert blink CD. At this point that wont happen, but id be okay with her not going on blink CD until she blink attacks so she still has map pressure and isn't force to single blink around the map to find survivors.

This or let it recharge while doing stuff so you can't 99% yourself over and over. I'd take either at this point.

Up her base move speed or stop her from looking at the ground in fatigue. I can do 2-4K with the base setup with every killer in the game, except for her. I couldn't even down a survivor without NOED.

TBH I've no idea. I haven't played Oni and I haven't seen any before/afters so no clue.

I would revert the basekit changes.

From the devs comments on it all that means is he can't turn past 90 degrees of the starting position. Not exactly something that would work well on Nurse since you have to 180 some hits.

Revert her completely and nerf her fatigue and chain blink window. For addons, get rid of the +2 blink addon and replace it with something else. (Keep the +1 blink addons though)

Bring back old basekit. Job done.
1 -
Remove the cooldown on her blinks and lower the lunge she has coming out of a blink.
This removes the non fun element they added while adding much more counter play to her blinks because now she has to be much more accurate with her blinks and they are easier to dodge if the nurse isn't as good. She will have to be much more precise with her aiming.

This’d kill nurse against the best survivors tbh. It gets pretty clutch at a certain level.

It is a nerf yeah, but I'd take this change over her current cooldown change. The cooldown change hurts her at least just as much against the best survivors imo.

This might be worse than the current changes.

I think something like @Mr_K 's rework idea would make her more fun to play again:
"What about if the cool down applied to blink attacks and the time were based on how many blinks you used during the chain?
This would apply to hits as well as missed swings in order to incentivize precise blinking and not blind swinging. As well it allows the Nurse to travel the map and continue chases. When the cool down is active the Nurse would be unable to blink again until it expires.
This would remove the counter on her power and the cool down would apply to her whole power instead. One blink plus a swing would be 3 seconds, two blinks 6 seconds and three blinks 9 seconds."

Give her back her base kit..she was one of the best designs this team ever made and they took it for granted

The devs aren't foolish enough to revert the basekit changes. Basekit nurse was the strongest killer in the game, over all killers using addons. Reverting nurse basekit changes would be almost as big of a mistake as creating the first iteration of Legion.

Make her a skill-expressive killer. Reward her for a blink strike. Give her base kit instant blink cooldown or refund 1 blink charge whenever she connects with a blink strike

This is what I've been saying! She was THE model for killers to follow. Strong and versatile power that you can use whenever and however you want. If they had done more like her this game could've been the tits.
This is where I disagree, I don't think they should make her weaker but instead bring other killers up to her level. She was the model killer for skill:reward and there was counterplay on survivors part that most choose to ignore/not use, and the counterplay actually took skill as well.
Now any survivor can loop Nurse, and there is a hard cap on your skill to reward ratio since you are limited after every single blink no matter what. You can only do so much with a finite amount of possibilities.

I still feel they should have done her nerf as a two parter. Addons first, let them settle and gather data, then maybe add the cooldown if they felt it was necessary. I believe they would have found it not to be the case, as most people would have been happy with just the addon changes. But as somebody else said, the cooldown was slapped on because they ran out of ideas for her addons.

Nurse takes skill and practice. Once you have that she is S tier no doubt about it

Nothing screams creativity and reward like disabling your unique power for literally walking!! Exciting stuff.

Nurse is still the best killer in the game. Don't kid around

Billy requires skill and practice, but he can still be picked up by a beginner and at least get a kill or two on a team of noobs. I'm sorry, but when a rank 11 killer with 80 hours in the game can't get a single down against a team of 15's, you've screwed up the character. I've literally had more fun being facecamped.

Just admit she was a mistake and delete her, that's what I would do.

The only direction a rework is going to go is to give the Nurse a decreased kill rate.
0 -
Sadly true
0 -
Not saying that with predjudice. I mean it. She breaks the game in every means of the word. You can't balance her because of how she ignores any defenses survivors have against her.
0 -
Hate to break it to you but it takes more than 80hrs to even learn how to play killer in general correctly. Cool down or not, Nurse is not for beginners. She's a hard killer to pick up and those first handful of matches you play as her are going to be the worst ones you will ever play in this game.
Bottom line, not every killer needs to be accessible.

I'd revert the nerfse to her release self (115% movement speed and 3 blinks).

Right now, one of the most frustrating things about the Nurse is blinking only to see that your second blink is 99% charged. I would change Nurse's blink to work like the Spirit's haunting.
No charges, only a power bar. You can only blink when your power is fully charged or while chaining blinks. Each blink uses 1/2 of your power bar (1/3 with the Bookmark). I would also change the Bookmark to increase power recharge time instead of stopping you from going through objects.
Aside from these changes I think she is fine.

I disagree. I've done well against players well above me in rank with Trapper, Meyers, Ghostface, Hag, Spirit, and Plague. This game isn't that complicated once you learn the maps, move speeds, and lunge ranges. I understand not picking up a killer and being an instant god, but you should at least be able to make it competitive, otherwise it's absolutely no fun for killer or survivor.
On top of that, if 80 hours isn't enough to play killer well, a "handful of matches" certainly isn't going to be enough to be competitive with nurse.

Eventually another killer will be released that ignores pallets and windows similar to Nurse. The counterplay will be similar, you will have to do something other than run circles around them. You will have to actually plot your path along a chase based on hiding and LOS instead of window or pallet loop over and over.

A handful of matches where you feel like 💩.
Didn't say you would be good after those.

I've played a handful of matches with her, she's still garbage.

🤣
Ok

yeah and perhaps you'll have to do more then press your face on keyboard to get 4k's
