Buffs for The Pig

I'm doing this topic just for curious! Some people say that she deserves more versatility in her dash attack, some others says that rules set number 2 (ultra rare add-on) should be her base kit or that her traps need to be more dangerous. So, what's your opinion?

    Fix our crouching so it's not a hindrance. Do not change her roar. There should also be more incentive for pigs to stay away from people with an active trap on their head.

    Making the skill checks harder would be nice.

    Overall, the Pig's in a good place from a basekit perspective. The perk list overall needs to be gone over so that everything's consistent, and her addons need a specific tuneup - Pig's biggest problem is that not everything affects her capability in consistent ways, and her addons are not only directionless but are half outright counterproductive.

    I would love to see some buffs for my piggy. She does need something to give her more map presence, her crouch is too slow and ambush is really only useful for playing around pallets instead of getting hits from actual sneak attacks.

    im maining pig so let me comment that

    about 1st ppl will do gens and instead of slowing down game it will promote smashings gens (from surv side to see boxes) and tunneling trap (from killers side)

    about 2nd i like to spam roar while crouched thats so funny you can kinda talk with survivors via roar and 1, 2. Her roar spam was already nerfed because of dedicated servers

    3 i would like to see that, but making POV outside of killer isnt that good

    4 NO!!!!!!!! dont feed those noed pig gamers xd for long long time pig had terrible opinion because of those guys (even now ppl tunnel only trapped survivors) imagine EGC with fresh active trap, are you sane? traps are meant to slow down game not to give noed pig free kills

    5 rly skillchecks? you want to punish baby survivors?

    what i would change:

    1 1 trap more (5 instead of 4)

    2 change add ons so there is more add ons that supports crouch (GF has add ons to crouch faster)

    pig is in rly good shape atm and ppl that dont want to acknowledge that never tried to have fun with her crouch, dash. Not every killer have to be equally strong and unfun to play against as spirit (because most of those changes that makes survivors die much more often to traps, and thats not the point of traps)

    I don't think it promotes tunneling at all but it does actually put more urgency on the survivor to get the trap off. This sounds good to me.

    I mean that is funny, but the roar is like the #1 change she needs if nothing else. It IS what ruins her ambushes viability.

    That isn't what I'm implying, simply higher view point so you aren't looking through the grass but above it.

    If they do that they aren't using them all game and giving up a lot of pressure. I don't want an entire killer balanced around NOED, that doesn't sound like good design. Even so, they can just know to cleanse totems against Pigs.

    I didn't say impossible skill checks, just slightly harder. Skill checks right now are a joke with how easy they are. They literally serve no purpose on the boxes right now other than extra blood points for landing them.

    Both your changes would be nice but they address none of the issues that are holding Pig back right now. Pig is definitely not in good shape, she is quite weak.

    well if you use her dash when you sneak up on someone then yes early roar is telling surv youre charging but A you should be close enough, B you can stand up and hit survivor instead, and thats what i call "play more certain killer and git gut at it"

    1 survs already have strong urge to take hat off they dont need more of that

    2 dont ruin fun things xd (devs destroyed enough ingame memes)

    3 i know what you mean but devs loves word consistency so they wont do that

    4 "they give up pressure in early" and you forgot to add: to get free kills in lategame xd you still can play lategame pig on last gen if you know how to manage generators as pig, there is reason why devs made that change and i fully agree with that, "late game" pig (if that change wouldnt happen) would be as "fun" as 5 totem old prayer beads spirit. And dont make here talk just cleanse 5 totems as soloQ player on inside map vs just wait 60sec for DS 4Head.

    5 i know they wont be impossible but smaller skill checks will hit hard on newbies and be pretty much ignored by survs with 300h+ and traps are already hard to manage for newbies, dont make it even harder for them

    She isnt weak, she is solid high midtier killer and if you think different you should watch Scorpionz or Tofu or someone else that know how to play pig (without ruin) but Scorpionz is pretty much best at it.

    I disagree on most these points. I play her regularly at rank 1 with the same hours played as the guys you're mentioning. I just think you over estimate her strength.

    Small changes I wouldn't mind:

    1. Crouching shrinks TR faster.

    2. For a dash attack to inflict deep wounds like Legion.

    3. Buff crouch speed by 2%

    These changes would allow for a sneaky pig player to get more use out of her power and apply a little more pressure.

    Her addons need major changes. That's not a matter of debate. Most encourage tunnelling trapped Survivors or have unnoticeable or RNG based effects on her Jigsaw Boxes and aren't worth using. She needs more addons for her Ambush and more addons with reliable effects.

    IMO her basekit crouch speed should be increased and her Ambush lunge should let her fast vault pallets and windows during the attack. It'd help make her less of the M1 Killer than she currently is without being inappropriate to her character or style.

    Finally her RBTs need a rework. Survivors can get free instantly or die because of factors outside of the control of anyone playing, and I don't think that's fun or healthy design for either side.

    Give her an add on that makes her roar global. Then she can play like tru3’s wraith or Ghostface. Then also give piggy the ability to t-bag like Ghostface

    It would be cool if she had an Add On similar to Freddy that would completely alter her power and give her a different device to use against survivors. They could get really creative with the Saw lore aesthetic

    I would just love a boost to her crouch movement speed and some tweeks to her add ons.

    I really don't think they will touch rbt as they are not ment to kill but only to waste time but as all is pig players know they really don't waste time. Its kinda like rtb is hex ruin either they work through it or it's gone with in two seconds lol

    What I would like to see for Pig:

    Skill Checks for Boxes should have a higher penalty (not being more difficult, this would only punish low Rank Survivors, high Ranks dont have a problem with that - thats why Overcharge is a bad Perk) AND work with Lullaby (I see the most potential on missed Skill Checks here - Survivors are more panicking because they want to get rid of the Trap and Lullaby will help with that).

    Her RBTs are fine as they are, they are not meant to be used in EGC, Devs even said that the reason for them to exist is to slow down the game. They should also not be more threatening, because the thing is, they cannot be too good, because otherwise it would be like two Killers chasing multipe Survivors when the RBTs are frequently resulting in Death.

    MAYBE: Dont let the first Box work.

    Then buffing her Dash-Ability. Not the Roar, but something different. Just make it more worth using, because when I use it, I only use it when I am near a Survivor and would also be able to hit him with an M1, just to get more BPs. Other than that, Pig is really poor on BPs in that category, because you only have the RBTs.

    Add Ons should be looked into. I would like to move Amandas Letter from Pink to Purple. Its nice, but not really that useful, especially because you will most likely have to use a Map Offering as well. I would not buff Amandas Letter tho, since it is an Aura Read and she still has 115% MS(of course not when the Aura Read is active, but still).

    Then, an idea for another Pink Add-On instead of Amandas Letter: The Key is always in the last Box. To give a Downside and make it not too frustrating with Extra Boxes or Tampered Timer, maybe increase the timer or lower the number of RBTs available. (Maybe change the text of the Add On which removes the ability to see Box Auras to this and push it up to pink)

    Then i would also like to see one Add On which removes her Roar, maybe yellow. And maybe also a stronger version of Combat Straps, also yellow and/or even green.

    As a Pig main I'd love to see some changes to her. I think she's in a good spot right now, her traps are just too RNG based, but they can really slow down the game, and her dash can be used at most pallet loops. However, there are some things I'd like to see changed.

    1. Her addons need an overhaul, most of them are too RNG based and doesn't affect her power at all (more skillchecks and bigger penalty for missing them), others just encourage her to tunnel hooked survivors (exhaustion and mangled). Also why use an addon to spawn one extra box, when they can get the trap off on the first box anyway? I'd like to see more addons related to her dash or some impactful box addon (like the slower search or 1 extra trap ones).
    2. Her crouch speed should be a bit faster, right now crouch walking to gens is just too slow and costs too much time. A 95-97% would be nice. Unlike GF, Pig can't just exit being crouched/attack without a slowdown, so she doesn't deserve the huge speed reduction that he does.
    3. Make her camera slightly taller when crouched, it's just too low and makes it hard to see.
    4. Would be nice if first box searched was always guaranteed to not have a key, it sucks when you give someone a helmet and they get it off first try. I don't believe that traps should kill, but they should be used as a way to slow down the game, right now it's just too RNG based. I actually feel really bad when people die to the helmet.
    5. I'd remove Pigs ability to see jigsaw boxes, as this ability only encourages Pig players to check the boxes and tunnel the trapped survivors. I know a lot of people are gonna disagree with me, but a lot of Pig players tend to tunnel the trapped survivor cause it's a guaranteed kill if you don't give them time to do boxes. Rather it'd encourages them to check generators and find other survivors they can trap.
    6. Here's another controversial one, I'd slow down EGC when a survivor has a trap on their head. It'd encourage their teammates (altruistic ones, at least) to stay in the trial, to help them get the helmet off.
    7. Crazy idea: Trap activates normally when a gen pops, but also activates after a survivor searches their first box. When they search a box before the helmet is activated they are guaranteed to not find a key, but they activate their trap prematurely. That way they automatically put a bit of pressure on themselves, but also remove some by only having 3 boxes remaining. This is a win for Pig by having survivors have to search through at least 2 boxes and a win for survivors cause they have less of a risk to dying to the traps.

    People say they want Rules Set 4 to be basekit, I wanted that too at some point too once. Though I realised, survivors being able to see the boxes makes them stop doing generators to get the helmet off as fast as possible, if you removed their ability to see Jigsaw boxes, it'd only encourage them to stay on gens until a gen pops.

    I never did endgame Piggy myself, and hated going against it as survivor, so I really didn't mind those nerfs to her.

    Rule Set No. 2 is more of a take it or leave it scenario for me. I'll be happy if it's added, but don't care either way.

    I'd like to see the roar happen AS the dash is being launched, or quietened slightly. Any long standing Reaper main from Overwatch will understand.

    Maybe make Dash charge faster. It's not an instant down like Hillbilly or Leatherface, so maybe charge it in half the time.

    SOME of her add-ons need changes. Haemorrhage on the RBT is actually bad. Mangled and Exhausted, though. Not to mention that both Dash add-ons together are fantastic, and my personal preference.

    PoV change would be nice, considering that my camera is generally below tall grass or a goddamn window.

    Maybe have an add-on or something to make skill-checks go the other way, like we know a certain someone will be probably getting soon.

    As for your concerns about NoED Piggy, @Galklife, NoED already gives free kills to just about every killer, the hatch doesn't activate the RBT, and the devs can always change it so that an active RBT slows the timer. If you've been caught out with helmets left, then you've either been saving them, or you've been gen-rushed.

    If we're talking Pig changes I'd love to help her get some more Saw imagery and music. Honestly right now if it weren't for the Jigsaw Boxes I'd think she's some kind of rabid furry.

    In terms of aesthetic changes please get this girl her own chase music, probably Hello Zepp. I know folks want her to have that music play for the active traps but that seems like an unlikely event.

    Additionally I'd advise that her "roar" be changed to play only when the bar is full and if possible have different audio. You could double down on the Pig aspect and have a load squeal or maybe just have Amanda shout anything other than a random out of place lion. If you insist on the existence of an early warning then have her inhale at the start of the channel. That way skilled players will hear the inhale and run. The ones that don't listen will get the late warning, the roar.

    As much as it would make sense lore wise for the RBTs to be cruel and only show auras once activated such a change would encourage gen rushing/faster games which is what she was placed in the game to prevent. Personally, I'd suggest that disarmed traps become items that the Pig can retrieve at the base of a box that someone escaped from. She can then regain traps that were disarmed to use again. Furthermore, survivors with saboteur can choose to sabotage the dropped trap to prevent re-use if they please. If a survivor actually dies to a trap then that trap will be lost.

    I imagine that her add-ons might need tweaking as well but I barely see Pigs enough to know what they do or how to change them.

    You want to take arguably the single worst add-on in the game, one of the only ones in the entire game that nerfs a Killer (barring the ones that deliberately nerfs a Killer in exchange for extra blood points), take away all the upsides it has...and then make it base kit?

    I know it sounds crazy, but as a Pig main myself I rarely ever check Jigsaw boxes, cause I focus on putting pressure on the survivors without a helmet. I stand by what I said, I believe that Pig being able to see the Jigsaw boxes confuses new players and makes them check those instead of gens, indirectly encouraging tunnelling. They waste time going from box to box to see if a survivor is trying to get their trap off, especially now that boxes spawn so far from each other.

    Without being able to see the boxes, how exactly are you to make sure the Survivor does not get their trap off too soon and render its stalling useless? You are leaving its stall potential almost 100% in the hands of RNG.

    I'm sorry, but ######### is with your 5th point? GOOD Pig players actively avoid people going to the boxes. Unless you're one of 2 people left. The only time that I go after people in boxes, is if I've just randomly stumbled across them. If you're going to recommend such a huge and unnecessary nerf, then you need to balance it by adding some sort of absurd buff.

    And boxes not killing? Have you seen a SAW movie? I'm surprised that Survivors don't have to do something like sacrifice an arm to get the helmet off. It's actually hard enough to get an RBT kill, and the only times I have are against Survivors who don't know how the Pig's power works.


    Not trying to be a hate-reply, but seriously, half of your changes here do seem like nerfs. Some add-ons, such as the Skill Check add-ons need changing, considering that they only really affect lower ranked Survivors, but Mangled and Exhausted RTBs is actually really effective.

    And that's why I came up with the point that 1st box never should have the key. Again, my playstyle doesn't involve me checking boxes. If someone has a trap on their head I actively avoid them, unless they run into me while I'm not in a chase or I find them doing a box while going from gen to gen, otherwise I'm off checking generators.

    I never stated that boxes shouldn't kill. I said that I believe that the RBT is meant to slow the game down, not be a guaranteed kill. That's why I feel bad if a survivor is unlucky enough to die to the trap. And most of these nerfs (not being able to see boxes/exhaustion/mangled) is to encourage a playstyle that doesn't revolve around tunnelling the trapped survivor. Like, why would you need the Exhaustion addon if you don't plan on finding that survivor again? Cause if they happen to run SB they'd be able to run to a box 3sec faster?

    Also I've stated that the boxes confuse NEW players, making them think they have to patrol those.

    I'm a Pig main and I love her, I play her 80% of the time when I play killer, but I've also played plenty of survivor matches where they'd focus on tunnelling the trapped survivor.

    So your solution was to cancel out a buff you suggested with a wholly unnecessary nerf? To make sure Pig has almost no control over RBTs at all and to make sure that having an RBT basically makes you feel more safe than if you were not wearing one?

    I think you do more harm by removing box auras than you do good by making first box auto-fail. Consider that Amanda's Secret, again arguably the worst add-on in the game, still has some upsides to compensate taking away the downsides. And you believe that the add-on should be forced onto people but without the upsides.

    I'm not saying totally ignored RBT Survivors, but it's also more the psychological aspect. As a Pig, you are a TORTURE Killer. If a Survivor sees that Dead Hard or Balanced Landing is no longer viable if they stumble across you is pretty scary.

    As for NEW players being confused by the boxes, that sounds like a them problem, and other survivors should just do gens around them. If they choose to tunnel a trapped Survivor, then they are actively wasting their power. They will be punished as they level up, then they will adapt and become good Pigs or swap to another killer.

    And I was in a similar boat with my Killer time, but I ran out of my Dash add-ons, and I wanted to try other killers. I only played again recently with Mangled and Reduced missed dash add-ons, and it felt pretty good. They didn't heal since they wanted to remove the trap, so when they did get it off, they were one-hit. Especially nice when you run A Nurse's Calling. But then again, I've always played Gen-Protector builds.

    1) Crouch removes TR faster. 2 seconds at most.

    2) An addon to remove her roar during dash attacks.

    3) Have bear traps activate when you put them on. Force them to actually remove it immediately instead of doing other things.

    4) An extra trap would be nice.

    5) Also an extra box.

    6) An addon to increase her crouch walking speed.

    7) An addon to increase her dash attack duration or distance. Possibly one for each.

    8) If number 3 wouldn't be implemented have survivors suffer from a repair and healing speed debuff while wearing a rbt.

    Changes to pig:

    1.Increase amount of reverse bear traps from 4 to 5

    2.increase ambush range by 5 meters OR make it last longer OR both 

    3.let her crouch quicker in base kit

    4.make her crouch walking speed quicker


    Pig add on changes;

    1.an add on that removes the roaring sound while ambushing

    2.an add on that you only have 2 reverse bear traps, but when a survivor has a bear trap on they can’t work on gens, but they see the killer at all times

    Maybe they could make Pig's traps function like Freddy's wake up clocks and only highlight one specific box that's the furthest away from the survivor? It would be easier to get off but also wastes more time and maybe they could allow her to have more traps or even recycle them by interacting with the box.
