Rift challenge: I killed 4 obsessions with camping Leatherface
It actually took me 6 matches as a couple of times the obsession escaped but apart from that it was notable for 2 things:
1) The salt. People REALLY don't like being hard camped by a chainsaw revving Leatherface.
2) Results weren't actually that bad. My tactic was to hook and chase until I found the obsession. Then I would hard camp the obsession to death. Only 1 match did the survivors do the sensible thing and do gens. The others they acted like fools and on 2 occasions even tried unhooking right in front of me. What! Twice I was also able to defend a hook by downing one and grab interrupting another. Ridiculous.
Overall I enjoyed the whole thing more than I expected. It was easier to get chainsaw downs than I remember. I was also partially inspired by his recent red rank stats.

Legit all of this shows how much skill you don't have man

LOL

Are you implying dead by daylight takes skill?
3 -
Are you trying to Imply there is no skill needed for dbd?
1 -
I must admit that, for this challenge, I facecamped the last one because I wanted to go to bed... but with Myers, not LF as I don't have obsession perks on him.
I also admit that about 1% of my killer matches I pick LF and chainsaw facecamp just for fun. Get tons of salt everytime but it makes me laugh.
Shame on me.

It's funny how survivors take every opportunity to insult your skill when you camp. Almost as if they're insecure about their own skill when they got caught in the first place by a camper.

I'm not the best. I'm not the worst. This was all about getting the challenge done quick.

Are you implying that you have the blessing of Second Sight, given that there's no way you can know how the OP performed in their games but you're bashing their gameplay, anyway?
0 -
Campers ruin the game
2 -
Na your just toxic
3 -
Then do gens and punish them for it. Don't encourage them by going for saves.
1 -
I am implying it takes no skill to face camp, if you catch someone then at least chase others, don't sit there,
0 -
And this shows how a salty nasty boii you must be after game.
3 -
The ultimate in toxicity....Bubba saw while standing still.
0 -
Oh we do, but just the fact someone Is that bad they need to sit there, just ruins the game, I've met a lot of people who actually give the game a bad rating and just report every killer for it. I play it for fun but it's frustrating when you get camped
0 -
That's not toxic, that just exhaustes you and then the survivor gets of the hook
1 -
Na it just shows, i play the game for fun and not like a noob camper with no skill, but if you camp then so be it. Just don't run up on me in a match
0 -
If you have so much skill why don't you play a round of leatherface in high rank, record it and post it here? The poster wasn't asking for your opinion on his style of gameplay that he used for that particular match. He was just saying how he got it done quickly. Take your negative comments elsewhere please.

What's amazing is that once the survivor's see you are prepared to facecamp an entire struggle stage then often the second and ALWAYS the third one you catch will just give up on the hook.
You end up getting back all the time you wasted at the start and the 4K comes back into play!
0 -
Who are you to tell me what to do hm? Being killer is easy, that's why I play survivor for a challenge
0 -
And who are you telling him how much skill he has? Such a hypocrite XD
3 -
Ah but I didn't ask him to not camp, I gave my opinion about it bud

If they were truly a terrible player, how did they get a hook to begin with?
You have no way to know why a Killer decided to camp, and it often doesn't have much to do with skill. Maybe they're doing the "Kill the obsession" challenge, maybe they've decided that they're just going to chill and not give a crap about winning. Maybe they do it in anticipation of the salt they'll get in the post-game chat.
I always find it bizarre that survivors are frustrated by camping, but not frustrated about being on the hook in general. Even if the Killer isn't camping, you're completely at the mercy of the killer and your teammates, and usually, all you can do is wait. Why is camping such a big deal, when it's really not that different from how things normally play out while you're hooked?
1 -
Thank You. Exactly. This is a thread about getting the rift challenge done quickly and indirectly how the rift promotes suboptimal gameplay.
1 -
No problem mate, can't stand it where people don't read the post properly and proceed to leave nasty/rude comments :)

@Thesaviour119 If killer is so easy I'd now also like to see your gameplay. Or a couple of them in a row on a stream to not get the ez potato games served XD. And your first post actually didn't imply that facecamping takes no skill, you said it generalizing without any facecamp reference, also not "between the lines"
Funny that such a "how the challenge influenced my gameplay" thread ends up in a typical post game chat.
@Rex_Huin the funny thing is, you even get called camper if you find survivors camping the hook for instant unhooking. Then you get caught around the hook because even more survivors pop up before you are able to hook the second one. I once managed a 4k in 3 minutes with Bubba just because of stupid scratch marks.
Also once with Legion I found someone on an 80% gen, chased him down, hooked him and got into a chase that lef me to the other side of the map. Hooked him there and thought "wow, gen still not popped after the second chase, let's try to kick it". That first survivor was sitting on it injured, this time I first kicked the gen as it was 90% now and downed him, he DC'd. Post game chat told me he DC'd because I was tunneling him.
But back on topic: some of the challenges force kinda stupid gameplay. Some of them don't force it but trigger people to do so like the "Drop pallets" challenge from tome 2, which could also be done by just playing normal. But the basement challenge for example would take a long time to get eventually, as you normally have exchanges in the basement and not multiple hooks (unless playing hag or trapper maybe). I hope they think about this challenge design in future tomes. Also about the web design, which forces for example all survivors in the first few days to hunt the unhooks like "mine mine mine" on tome 3 or everyone running selfcare on tome 2, wasting so much time and denying mates the emblem and blood points. Would be better to have 2 entry points or a generic "just play" or "both roles" challenges to begin with, with more options after that

Camping isn't Toxic, it happens in a lot of games, it can be annoying but there's a lot of counterplay for it, such as doing the gens it takes about 2 minutes for a fresh hooked person to die, if 3 people are on gens that's 3 gens done and a potential 4th if they have toolboxes and hit greats.

Camping is very effective against solo q and 50/50 against swf, for mixed reasons.
Gj on the challenge. Nemesis would definitely make it easier.
0 -
... And there I was having to play 7 matches to do this challenge, because in 3 of them i didn't even get an obsession... :D
0 -
Normally if I mention the challenge in post-game chat, most Survivors becomes understanding.
Only the truly salty stay to cry and complain as they have nothing better to do in life.

I Basement camped somebody with one gen left. I don't do it regularly but I didn't have any kills atm so I did it. Keep in mind that one person was in the basement with one gen left, I revved my chainsaw fully, and my terror radius was not hidden. A minute later Claudette runs down stairs to save Meg. Now both of them got put on hook. Rinse and repeat and eventually, a 1K turned into a 4K.
After match to of them messaged me and reported me to BHVR for face camping. Something similar happened to me as pig today but it was "Tunneling".

If you're so bad at the game that you need to facecamp as Leatherface of all killers to get your challenge done (which isn't even a master challenge omegalul) that's pretty sad. Killer main btw
0 -
I do agree but in your opinion how would you deal with a camper who is just being toxic at it and won't even leave a certain survivor alone
0 -
I've had plenty of killers text me asking can they farm and I always say yes because I like to help everyone out, but if you need a challenge done then at least tell the teams about it so they can understand

This is not a question of good or bad its about efficiency.
I chose Leatherface for this challenge because once the obsession is on the hook the kill is guaranteed. I could have played normally but it would have taken longer and I still have a lot of rift to do.
0 -
It's not very efficient to depip every game but alright
0 -
How did it take 6 games? Honest question, once I started the challenge I finished it in 4 games. How did they escape a face camp, especially from Bubba? Also mori’s, much easier to tunnel and kill the obsession, and if they dc, still counts.
0 -
I did run an obsession perk.
One failed attempt I did not see the obsession at all until at the exit gate. The other one I cant really remember - maybe I saw them once but wasn't able to down them.
I could have used a mori that's true. But I like the simplicity of my 'one and done' hooking strategy.
Someone else mentioned using Nemesis. I don't have that.
0 -
Ah, I could see that. One of my games I had 3 bledettes, lucked out the first was my obsession.

Yeah but rank doesn't matter. You don't get anything for it. You only go for rank 1 to get the achievements and then you're cursed to stay in red ranks for the rest of your days. Ranking up is more bad than good. You just get long lobby times and toxic matches at high ranks.
0 -
Yes. And for purpose of doing killer rift challenges de-pipping is probably beneficial.
0 -
I can't imagine doing the Kill 2 survivors with NOED in EGC. Tome 4 is going to be hell in red ranks.
0 -
Don't hate the player hate these stupid challenges.

Imagine how bad of killer you are. 6 matches to kill 4 obsessions with facecamp revin LF. Watch same videos and get good.
