So are DC penalties in or not?
I thought they were coming just a couple days after the patch, but I still get 1-2 teammates DC every game it seems.

I was wondering the same thing. I never dc. But we got this huntress yesterday. She hooked a guy after 1 gen then stayed at the hook until they died. Meanwhile we were doing gens (because gen rush the camper right?). So after that she did it to another guy. And this went on until It was only me and my friend. I got hooked and she was't leaving the hook. My friend finished the last gen then went for the gate. But she decided to stop facecamping and go to the gate he was opening and got him. He DCed so the trashy huntress wouldn't get any kills.
(There was no ruin and everyone was gen rushing when she was facecamping but still she got the 4k - can't believe the devs allowing these stuff)
Sorry for going off topic I guess I was still mad since yesterday.
Anyways my friend was still able to play with us after that so I guess the penalties are whether not on or they only work if you DC early in a game cuz I remember they refered to this feature as: Early Disconnect Penalties.

They said that originally, but they delayed the DC penalty system because they didn't want to introduce it while the game still contained so many gamebreaking bugs that forced people to disconnect. So they decided to prioritise fixing the bugs which came with the latest patch before implementing punishments for DCing. We should be receiving more news on the topic in the near future.

While I get it... got stuck in generator last week and had to DC... It'll also be nice to do something about ppl who DC as soon as they go down. Just had a game where 3 ppl DCed all at once after I downed 2 of em in the beginning. After looking at their perks...I'm guessing one of em was going for the spine chill tome challenge cuz they DCed as soon as I picked THAT guy up.

It would be nice, but with the amount of people that are being forced to DC at the moment, I believe they made the right call. DC penalties are a good thing and will most likely be implemented soon, it's just that right after the patch turned out to be a particularly bad time for it.

Like I said, I get it. I wouldve hated to be punished for DCing for being stuck inside a generator a minute into the match.

I understand, but the problem is they do a patch every six weeks, and there are always bugs that pop up... So if the first couple weeks (which is what we are so far) after the patch aren’t a good time to implement penalties it seems well never get them.

When it goes live, the DC penalty is only for those who DC early in the match. DC on the loadout if you want and DC late if you want -- no penalty.

I'm pretty sure that wording means dcing before the match ends, not "5 minutes in is fine"

I don't think that's necessarily true. I get where you're coming from, but bugs this gamebreaking are not common. There will be plenty of time to implement the new system after they're fixed (which the majority of them already are).
