When the killer refuses to close the hatch

It comes down to who is more patient when this happens before you either close the hatch, give yourself to the killer or dc. There's not much you can do as a survivor to counter a killer who refuses to close the hatch and justs stands there.

Any advice or thoughts? In my opinion the hatch should close by itself after a while to avoid this situation, because I can't think of any effectve way to counter it.

    Go work on a gen.

Literally just do a gen if he's camping it, that easy.

Do gens. They'll be forced to close it or risk letting you get the gates anyway. Plus you get some extra points which is always nice.

Want to know how to de-incentive this? Don’t make noed work when the hatch closes :P they’re waiting for a gen to be done then close the hatch and go to that gen mostly.

    don’t make adren work either.

This. You force him to close the hatch, if all the gens are done.

Thanks. I completely forgot about gens...

I remember doing that before the egc was implemented, for some reason I forgot it still can be done.

Do gens. If the killer is genuinely just standing on the hatch you can 99% every gen remaining if you want to, and then pop them whenever you want. Check any chests you see as well as you might find a key which lets you just hatch out once the killer does close the hatch, and since they might very well have NOED if they're doing that break totems you see as well.

Sometimes you still just get screwed though, with the hatch on a hill with view to both gates or something. In that case just do gens and then jump on a door for some extra points.

And you might get killers implying you're taking the game hostage or something by doing this but you're not. You're working towards an attempted escape and the killer can close the hatch at any point if they want to put a time limit on the match.

Yup, like everyone else is saying, in that situation just do a gen.
