Do people really think oni is fun?

I really don't get it he really not all that fun for me. It feels like it take for ever to charge up his strike. You have to use a secondary button to strike while in dash. Your power is based on injuries. Hes basically a weaker billy. At least with billy you dont have to hit another button to attack. Oni only looks cool.

Hes fun for me, plus I actually feel like I can apply the best pressure with him than any other killers

  • I think he's fun even after P3ing him. Running sloppy butcher and picking up people as soon as you down them leaves the map full of blood orbs and makes gaining your power easier. His dash (for me) seems fun to control and can catch survivors off guard with M&A.

Same for me, he's just not fun. I've tried playing him for a few dozen games and I'm not terrible with him but I just find him boring. The fact is he relies too much on skill and not enough on intelligence or mind games like a lot of other killers. The ones I find fun are ones you have to think about and out smart the survivors, not just be good at control and timing with your one shot. I really wanted to like him and bought him first day, only with shards though, but at this point I'm just giving up as I really don't enjoy him.

That kind of my point. If I'm playing or facing him hes ez to beat if there's good survivors. I think if the second button was gone and he swung on release of dash it'd be better but that's imo.

I also think he is fun, but his dash attack seems almost useless, I only use it to catch up with survivors and sometimes I'm lucky enough to catch them off guard with it. However his lunge attack is strong, unless you are running around a TL.

I have more fun with him than with Billy, but maybe that's because I haven't mastered Billy yet since I rarely play. Oni seems easier to control, at least for me.

    Fun for survivors? Yes

    Fun for killer? No

Fortunately, I always pay with shards so I don't mind the nerf, but I feel bad for people who paid with their hard earned money.

It is true oni is easier to control the dash, but with add on you can that nice turn with Billy.

I dont even like going against him hes so easy to 360.lol

He's my favorite killer to play, he's like a combo of billy and myers. Myers is a lot of fun and while I don't care much for billy, that's because I'm awful with the chainsaw. Oni is just perfect for me since he's easier to control and you can get through areas better than Billy can. I tend to just run up to people with the dash and then down them with the quick 1-hit. On console it's easy to get 360'd since it's hard to keep track of survivors with the kanabo taking up the screen but I've gotten used to it the more I play. He never really had a crazy flick on console either so I can't even complain about that.

Topknot is highly recommended as one of his addons. HIs dash seems stupidly slow to start without it.

I love Oni. I feel like it's the perfect Killer to maintain pressure on the map. It has the scare factor of Myers Tier 3 and Billy's speed to apply it.

I still do find him fun, but honestly quite a lot less fun since his flick got basically removed.

Needing to stop your dash instead of attacking at the end of it just feels so much lamer.

I didn't find him fun and decent even before the nerf, now he's basically m1.

I don't have him yet but I really like going up against him as survivor. Some great sound effects there compare that to play against Wraith thats just boring.

Sad to hear many dislikes playing as Oni. I will get him soon though I want all killers in the game.

It took me forever to get the adept so from that I figured the playstyle isn't for me. I don't hate him but I'm not excited to sit down and play Oni.

I like the dash but I dunno. I always felt like I missed the club a lot for some reason.

Yeah I could git gud like you can with the doctor but I don't do good with the doctor either and just don't wanna play lol.

I don't play nurse and huntress for similar reasons though. I just wanna play the game.

He's a fun killer for me thanks to his pretty quick pace of playing. Oni is one of the few killers I can actually stand not using Ruin on, because he can make just that much map pressure. I'm not particularly good with him, but I sure do a hell of a lot more successfully in games with Oni compared to Billy, so I wouldn't even say he's a weaker version. Really, they're only comparable for their charge ability and one shot capabilities anyway, so I don't think it's really a fair comparison. I'm not sure how much the flick nerf killed him, though, because I'm a console player; I never got to use it to begin with.

Not right now. The flick being removed totally killed the vibe for me.

With his flick he was very fun because you trade weak early game to very skill based rage time. It still had plenty of counterplay but was fun.

Sadly BHVR sees people having fun and survivors not yet capable of countering the new killer as a bug that needs to be removed so now he have this. Weak version of billy with 30-40 second timer on a power that still DOESN'T HELP IN LOOPS.

I had fun before the nerf. Now... not so much.

Pig is the coolest killer to me but I not gonna lie, I had so much fun playing Oni... before the nerf.

I haven't found him to be fun yet. Billy is probably my favorite and Oni feels like a clunkier version of him. His dash seems to never connect and his bash is also not that difficult to dodge. Picking up blood orbs was probably the worst for me since it didn't seem intuitive, often I find I need to do a little dance around them since even standing on them doesn't always work.

I'm trying to get his adept achievement and haven't had this hard of a time with any killer before. His perks are pretty garbage with just the three so it feels like using nothing. Also double pipping seems impossible no matter how well I do.

I may just need more practice but I find it hard to want to play when I find him as frustrating as legion. Though seeing so many no mithers recently does make me smile since they're just blood orb fountains.

I still enjoy playing him, but once the flick is back, even with the 90 degree limitation, he'll be more fun to play.

This. You need two addons to get chase potential with his dash and that's not good.

The flick was a BUG from the beginning... They literally wrote so in the release notes of PTB...

it mostly depends, console Oni was completely different from pc Oni solely based on his flick, and thats what made him fun for most people. pc players could only really get the max effect of the flick

He was fun until they change the way his flick works and one of his addons because people didn't want to heal

They wrote: "The Oni can rotate faster than intended with the keyboard or joystick during Demon Dash." .

It says NOTHING about the flick, nor the demon strike you actually do at the end of Demon Dash.

Hate to sound negative, but the power seems like too much effort for too little reward. As far as fun, I honestly and truly enjoy the frenzy of Legion....

Perhaps its the lack of blood points?

    He was fun, A-tier killer.

Now hes slow, lethargic, not-rewarding. C-tier.
