Gen Spread on Maps

Figured I’d pose the question to everyone to discuss: what is your favorite map for the pure situation of where gens get located, and which map is your least favorite? I’m talking purely about gen locations. Other parts about the map don’t qualify here.

For me, my favorite is probably Lery’s, actually. They’re spread out in general, so it encourages exploration, and it’s one of the few maps where I look at where they wind up and think “yeah, I could see a hospital sticking an emergency gen here.” It’s thematic and fits the map well. Plus there’s a nice blend of safe and unsafe gens insofar as how much warning you get that the killer’s coming verse being able to hide successfully, which makes the map dynamic in that way as well.

The worst to me is Temple of Purgation, and is why I made the thread in the first place. I’ve paid attention to this the last half dozen or so times I’ve been on the map as either side, and every single time there has been an awful three or even four gen situation around the temple itself. The one in the basement, and then two or three others right near the entrances/exits to the temple. If you’re a setup killer, just set up around the temple and scare anyone away who works on those gens, and you can safely ignore the half of the map closer to the shack because you’ve got plenty of gens to protect right there. Even a non-setup killer is fine since the patrol time of 3 gens is at most 20 seconds, and most of the places people want to run are where the gens are as well. If they leave that half of the map, let them go and return to patrolling. I love the map aesthetically, but it’s pretty terrible for potential three gens if the killer’s intelligent about how they patrol/set up.

What are your thoughts, and what are your favorite and least favorite maps for where gens go?
