But you dont need to heal someone first, get hooked, get broken, or waste a perk slot.
It's also significantly faster than Second Wind.
You can also use the syringe on someone else.
I dont see how it's in any way worse.

No I actually main survivor.
I wouldn't mind being automatically healed while I do a gen or cleanse some totems. That's time I don't have to spend healing through Sloppy, or getting seen with Nurse's Calling.
Anything that gives a free hit is dumb. Old insta-heals were free hits. New Styptic is a free hit. Free hits from pressing a button are dumb.
And you can't compare them to Second Wind. That perk requires you to heal someone, then get hooked. Insta-heals require you to press a button. Not even in the same ballpark.

I feel that the agent should have an increased endurance timer before being hit, but I like them other than that. The changes were good

Not for me. Styptic lets you take an extra hit during chase, go for a save while injured and make killer hit you instead of going for a grab and avoid insta-downs. Syringe just heals you over 16 seconds by default if there is no change in your health state

I think both are bad because in that situation you are just commiting delayed suicide

The syringe is still practically an insta heal if used properly. Running from the killer for 16 seconds isn’t that difficult especially if you activate it immediately after throwing a pallet.

If you stop to use the syringe and the killer avoids the stun you are dead

I like both of them but styptic is obviously the better choice between the two.

They should of done it like they did BNP - does not deplete the medkit just uses the add-on.

If they made it so that using them didn't consume the medkit they'd be perfect.

Syringe no - it should double heal. Once in a blue moon you save someone slugged :P
