Kobe question
So i got myself off the hook. Then went and healed a couple of people. Then got hooked again and died. You dont lose a hook state from getting yourself off the hook do you?

Was it a last second attempt? You might of gone into second stage at the same time as the kobe.

Only in the same sense that you "lose a hook stage" when someone else unhooks you - that is, you will automatically progress to the next stage of the sacrifice the next time you get hooked, just as you would if someone else had rescued you on your first hook. So to answer your question, no, you shouldn't go straight to death hook just because you unhooked yourself.
However, it's possible that if you unhooked yourself at the last minute before reaching second stage, you entered the second stage of the sacrifice during the unhook animation and so the game registered you as having progressed to the struggle phase, such that your next hook was your final hook. I'd be very surprised if this were an intended feature, though - it sounds more like a rare glitch than anything else.

Whenever you get hooked for the third time you die,regardless if unhooked by another survivor or unhooked yourself

I unhooked myself which only happens on first hook state. Then was dead on hook next time skipping the 2nd phase

That's must be glitch a glitch due to the fact that it was a last second unhook.
I unhooked myself more than 50 times and always got to struggle phase if I was re-hooked after. But it was most time with deliverance so early 1st stage.
