Game crashed. Got dc penalty..... Why?

Really, this game should add a "reconnect" option. And if you don't reconnect into the game in about 2 minutes you get penalized. Ez.

Considering you only got a penalty in one crash, I'm guessing you previously did quit from a few games. I left one game (for reasonable reasons) and had my game crash twice in the last week and I still have no penalty

I dont dc :/ the penalty thing was enabled today, so makes sence you didnt get penalty from a week ago

I remember a long time ago that devs wanted to plan on a 'husk' being left behind in a game. I reckon that they could do it now that they have servers if they wanted to (much like in LoL, Dota, CS:GO, etc).

“Game crashed” would become an abused excuse.

People exploit DCs, that's why we can't have nice things. The game doesn't know if your game crashed or if you killed the process. It has to treat every DC the same. And DC penalties are desperately needed.

You don't need dedicated servers to implement a husk. It can be done with the killer as a host as well. Unless the killer DCs but honestly I've almost never seen that happen, whereas every other game at least 1 survivor ends up DCing.

The test is probably being done for many reasons and I would say one of those is to gather data so they can see the difference between a crash and a DC.
It does suck atm that its happening and I hope they are getting data to stop it within this test as I agree its not fair if its out of your control.

There's no real reason not to have a reconnect now that there's dedicated servers.

You could implement a reconnect feature with the killer as a host too. Makes no difference.

Except that doesn't work if the killer DCs, everyone is kicked because they aren't connected to them any more.

I don't see the point of DC penalties. If killer DC's, guarantee a black pip and a return of all addons/offerings. If a survivor DC's, treat it like you hooked them three times and if it's over 3 gens remaining, eliminate one. Problem solved.
That way, people don't get screwed by a DC, and you don't wind up punishing people due to a buggy game.

That just happened to a fog whisperer. Her game crashed while she was streaming and when she rebooted DBD it was locked for five minutes.

Survivors DC 10 times more often than killers. If not more. I've had a killer DC maybe 1 in 50 games whereas a survivor DCs every other game. There's not much incentive for a killer to DC especially because killer add-ons are often much more valuable than survivor tools.
