DC bans don't solve any issue
instead of Dcing survivors will just insta-die on hook. GJ behavior, you just made them take a few extra seconds to leave the game. on the plus side, at least I will get more sacrifice points

The irony is this will still happen like you said but in a different format. Really doesn't solve anything.

Insta-die on hook? No, I will farm those people quick enough :D
Ofc it helps. As u just said - more sacrifice points for the killer and no free hatch escapes. Correct me if Im wrong.

Why no free hatch escapes ? The hatch opens no matter if the other player disconnects or just suicides.
Everybody here is pretending as if this was some kind of brain surgery supporting software - its just a game. And BHVR would have other means of remedy - like just granting full sacrifice points to killers for a DC for example. I don't know why everybody is demanding "bans" and "punishments" on people who either have a real life matter getting in the way during a game or just don't want to play with you....just move on, there really is no "problem" whatsoever if someone disconnects.
The mindset behind people demanding and implementing this is indeed a problem.

If someone DCs, the hatch opens the second they do so. If someone dies on hook, the entire death animation must play before the hatch opens. It’s a difference of up to 10-15 seconds depending on when the DC happens, maybe longer if they DC on down. It’s a major time difference and gives the killer a lot more time to go find the hatch and contest it.

Finally someone with a brain... people will leave your match and "ruin" it no matter what you do. Even if you don't hook them there will be people just going afk completely, watching a video or whatever else comes to mind.
I can't answer the question about why they want a penalt yso bad like as if they'd lose real value from a dc. I would get it if there was some form of ingame currency (for example let's say "Hook Coins" you would get for hooking survivors to buy cosmetics) but there is literally nothing to it. If a survivor dc's in your game you still play, meaning you still get exp for your devotion level, you don't lose a single thing, maybe a BBQ stack but oh well, that's unfortunate. It's nothing of real importance tbh.

You forget their egos are going to be damaged by letting the killer hook them. Let them kill themselves on hook. Still better than DCing. Killer gets the hook point, emblem point, and BBQ stack if they have the perk. Buys survivors more time to heal, gen progress, or run away to a safer position. You could also run up to them before they complete their three attempts and force them to stay or DC.
Eventually these types will stop playing and the game as a whole will be better off.

As long as I get my BBQ stack, I don't particularly care if they kill themselves on hook. As killer, that is.
As survivor, I might as well go die on hook as well if that happens.

Even if the dc penalty would punish hook suiciding somehow, one minute and five minutes are no big penalty. It should at least begin at five minutes to be actually punishing.

Some are already upwards of 25 minutes.

My queue times are longer than the penalty after 3-4 dcs lol

Those are an extra few seconds for the other survivors get to do things. The Killer also gets a few more points.
Also the DCer gets to keep their BP now.

Thx BHVR for implementing this ban system <3 Only notorious DC Dudes, who are bad loosers with bad manners, can complain about it. No one wants to play with those people. Neither survivors nor killers. That´s all. You don't agree? Time to say goodbye - and the DBD Community becomes quite more beautyful :D

They solve the issue of me losing 25% bp bonus per dc

Yeah ... I don't see the system's use either. If someone wants to ruin a match, they'll do it either way.

Except it does help. Sure the problem won't be fully cured but now we have a tool to stop some of the flow and a path forward to addressing another avenue.
You don't ignore a solution at your disposal simply because it doesn't fix everything. Use what you have and work towards a better fix.
