I'm upset the devs just being lazy, spending all there time on cosmetics. I'm not even mad about winter event, but why do we gotta wait till next year for bloodpoint event. When most people have more time to play during the holidays. Kids are out of school, a lot of businesses closed. There just killing our events to sell there battlepass.

Not sure why they can't just give us the lights and decorations seeing as that is already done and wouldn't require any extra work.

They did say on the stream that with the Blood Hunt starting in January, it would mean that people wouldn't have to ignore their families to take advantage of it. So far from trying to kill our fun or anything like that, the impression I got was that they knew most people spend time with their families in that week between Christmas and New Year, and so they tried to make the Blood Hunt at a time when all that would have died down and people would be back to their usual schedule. That, and they're probably reluctant to run an event during a period where no one is going to be at the studio to monitor it.

Because flipping the switch on the winter atmosphere from Dec 1 - Jan 2 would have been too much.
The 3 month Halloween grind got in the way of Christmas and the same will continue since they plan to continue to try passing off a themed battlepass grind as a holiday event...
I'm looking forward to what the "event" is for the chinese new year...

I don't know why they didn't do the festive atmosphere this year, but that's a different topic from the Blood Hunt.

Did they? I watched all the way up to the part where they started talking about Oni's story, and I didn't hear the words you are saying at all. It sounds to me like you are being an apologist.
From the player's standpoint it was a simple thing to do the minimal and just give us what we had last year, as they had already done the work.
Why wouldn't they want us to play more when most of us have more free time to do so? That makes no sense. My son and I were looking forward to the event. My blood is capped with nothing to spend it on, but I sure could use some firecrackers, and some presents for my killer. What reason should I play during Christmas? For the horrendous games that the rift will bring me? Oh, and no, I don't need a blood hunt as I just said my blood is capped. Well, we've got a random fog gates in Dark Souls mod, a Borderlands 3 DLC, my son just got Mario Maker 2 for Christmas, and YouTube keeps spamming us with this game called Last Year or something like that.
So, I guess I do owe you a thank you, Devs, you alleviated the frustration of dealing with bad matches by not giving us a holiday event. Now we can go enjoy our holidays not playing Dead by Daylight, just like @Fibijean said you wanted us to. I guess that was a good present after all. Merry Christmas!
