Prologue: My Recent Experience

Not too long ago, I had the worst game ever as the survivor, and it had nothing to do with the killer at all. I never felt so aggravated, and it took a lot of control to not say anything about it because I was that upsetting to me.

Story Time: Unsafe Hooks

I was playing survivor, like usual because I only play killer when I want to challenge myself.

Soon, I loaded into the map, The Game, and began doing a generator through Ruin. HUD showed me someone got injured, then within the next 30 seconds, downed by a Spirit.

I have Kindred, so I know whether or not I should go for the hook save. The other two survivors were no where near the hook, so I knew that I had the right-of-way for the unhook. The generator I was working on was almost finished and the hooked survivor wasn't close to the second phase, so I completed the generator before going to the save.

Once I got to the hook, Kindred revealed the killer's aura which allowed me to stay hidden. For some odd reason, she stayed near the hook because the other two survivors aren't close to the hook and I didn't run to the hook, the hooked survivor wasn't far from me to begin with. Perhaps the generator gave it away, but it's whatever, it was my mistake then. The hooked survivor was about to enter second, and in my mind, "I should at least give this person a chance to keep their second hook state instead of letting them go into second phase and lose it" so I unhooked the hooked survivor with the intention to bodyblock the killer if necessary.

Instead of the hooked survivor running away, they deliberately got themselves downed because they wanted to take agro since they got DS. This wasn't a, "I didn't see where the killer was type of situation" and in red ranks, as the hooked survivor, you should know where the killer is at if they are near the hook. In fact, the killer was 8 meters behind me once I unhooked that survivor, so I tanked a hit 3 seconds after the hooked survivor was freed. The hooked survivor ran to and pass the killer during her recovery animation and got downed as she entered a locker.

I felt bad about it, but I did what I could and she wanted to use her DS, so there's nothing I could've done to prevent me from farming her. Nevertheless, I healed myself and used an Anti-Hemorragic Syringe to pick her up since the other survivors were swarming the downed survivor.

Thankfully, she got back up, but now my benevolence is gone since she wanted to use her DS.

Long story short, she did the same thing to me again and one other survivor too because they wanted to complete an almost complete generator. Therefore, I had an amazing score of -112 from unsafe hooks, which is ridiculous because she kept getting herself farmed.

Epilogue

I feel like I can be open about this without being judged to harshly because as a survivor, you need thick skin sometimes and sometimes it's really hard to not lose your mind. 😕
