My reason for camping
Simply put I started camping because I got so sick of giving good matches win or loss everyone got over 25k bp and yet I would get salt/hate told to die accused of stuff I didn't do didn't matter if it was a max points 4k game or a measly 1k game I would get this hate.
There is only so much someone can take before they decide damned if you do, damned if you don't. I never claimed to be the best killer, I never used add-ons or perks like ruin, I played trapper see and yet still I recieved threats of death and just disgusting hate so it became less stressful and more relaxing to camp.
No doubt people will demonise me if they read this and spout the tired ignorance that all campers are inherently bad players whatever you can do that, this is simply for those who may question why some camp, understand that I got so very tired of the mindless hate for doing my job as killer, just the complete lack of empathy from people, I was always the scapegoat for anything. Win fairly no 'camping', 'tunneling' hate mail even if I get beat by the survivors same result hate mail. So yeah I started camping at least the hate mail is now somewhat valid and i have no shame in it... Put up with the bs of second chance survivor perks, infinites and camouflaged survivors and still get hate nope rather camp.
Maybe you can deal with being treated like fecal mater in the gristles of footwear by strangers in online video games good for you but that is not for me choice between fair games and harassment or camping and harassment I choose camping. Middle aged men and women telling me to die that's where I draw the line.

There is no reason at all to camp but being very low skill.

I love to camp here and there since it helps me relax in the wilderness and look at the beautiful night sky. There's a lot of mosquitoes though so always bring a bug spray.

I never said I was good... If you actually opened your eyes you would see I said I would get hate whether win or lose so therfore I started camping. Rank 3 trapper two perks, zero add-ons totally I suck.
I'm not wasting my time anymore giving good matches to those who harass, I don't play games to be threatened death maybe you do but there you go now you can throw yourself a party for being horrible to a person online yes amazing contribution to mother earth I salute you sir or madame oh almighty rank one all should bow down to you, you know everything about everything you should be a dev.

If a survivor is obviously toxic (equipping flashlights/toolboxes a few seconds before the game starts or just flat out making fun of me in in-game), I will tunnel and facecamp them. The salt afterwards is fun. You piss me off, enjoy your 6k bloodpoints, purple item loss and depip.

I could handle that... It was the death threats that I got sick of, you know killers put up with a lot of stuff take the old ds for example and yet it's still deemed acceptable to threaten literal death to them and their family. I couldn't play normally after so much of the same disgusting messages.
Nobody should have to take that type of despicable harassment, it was honestly win or loss I can sort of understand being salty if you lose but if you win there is no understanding you beat me and yet I deserve death?

Camp if you want to. Hell, build a fire, roast some marshmallows, and set up a tent. There's no rule book for how survivors play, and they play as crappy and toxic as they want. So, why should killers play nice anymore and follow some stupid made up survivor sided rules? Kill em. Kill 'em ALL! 😂😉

I have been facecamped, I have been lagswitched and facecamped but I never felt the need to give death threats over a video game. Being facecamped sucks sure but understand why the killer may be facecamping like I said it isn't always because they are new or they 'suck' a killer can be decent and be camping just because they got tired of the harassment it's not always black and white.

It's really just the hate mail/lack of empathy for me. Say if I lose well I tried my best don't need to message me but these people did, they beat me and would message me the most disgusting hate and I'm just wondering why you won why are you doing this. I got tired of being a doormat to these horrible human beings.
The actual worthwhile, decent human being survivors were always in the minority when I played killer, I always hit the sore losers/ graceless in victory.

Only time I will camp is if a survivor was toxic for no reason. That kind of crappy behavior will be punished in my killer lobbies.
Other than that I cannot think of a more boring way to play killer than stare at a hook for most of the match.

Camp them all. They hold m1 at generators, you hold a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy their cries. You dont have to show more skill than they do.

I hear you. If you win you get salty messages, if you lose you get harrassed by messages like "ez win", "noob killer" etc. Survivors are so toxic in general (on console at least) it's just ridiculous.
On PS4 you can report most of those messages and they'll get official warnings.Any kind of swearing and serious insults are not allowed. It's ridiculous that they actually go out of their way to message you out of the game.

Just ignore them. Don't read the messages, just delete them, block them from coming when you play DBD, or turn chat off. Don't fall into their toxic trap, it's what they want, and your giving them exactly what they want by reading them. It's their 💩💩💩y way of thinking they won. Don't waste your time on salty, toxic people dude.

Look I have thought on it and I'm just gonna give it another shot and if people wanna be horrible so be it. Killer players jus have to deal with vile messages they shouldn't but they do so I won't camp anymore I won't fight toxicity with more toxicity thank you for your input those who actually were constructive not those who were looking at it black and white thinking it's ust because I 'suck'

So....you camp because people say bad things to you so you decide to take it out on innocent people, and make them hate you as well, creating a perpetual cycle because you haven't even considered the idea of blocking the people who send you hate mail or just setting your messages settings to private? Play however you want, but if you camp and make the game suck for others expect hate in return because I highly doubt you're getting THIS much hate for playing a fair game.

Question: You said you find it more relaxing than actually trying to chase survivors but do you also find it FUN to camp? I'm currently not playing DBD for other games and I gotta say I almost forgot how much fun offline splitscreen games can be as I spent most of the past years playing DBD.
You might wanna try some other games, too. Maybe some grindy offline games or PVE games rather than PVP (which always includes people that try to belittle and insult you). I'm fairly sure grinding good gear in Borderlands 3 with a friend (for instance) is way more fun than camping someone to death which is basically just standing around for 2 minutes doing nothing.

I never get negative messages on ps4 unless I completely wipe a team out. And that's kind of a positive because they complaining I killed them too quickly.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Basically a lot of people refuse to take responsibility for anything, including online games. They're gods, and if they died it's clearly someone else's fault.
I've gotten the same hate, accused of tunneling, when I was actively NOT tunneling. Accused of camping for chasing a survivor that followed me to the hook, etc. I've stooped to their level, just like you did. Play how you want. Personally, I explain my case, drop a GG EZ, and leave the chat.

There are toxic individuals in every community, but the majority of players are not. If their attack on you was unjustified, report them. Even if justified, if it was overly abusive, report them. That's what that feature is there for.
Using the bad actions of a few as an excuse to be toxic yourself is not justifiable. And you being more toxic is going to create toxicity among those that weren't before. That's the thing with toxicity, it can spread if unchecked. Don't be that person.

I had read the name wrong at first glance, didn't remember DBD being that kind of game lol. Back on topic though, I actively try to avoid camping and tunneling so the game seems fair for everyone. The longer the game goes on, the more points I end up getting in the long run. Especially with me using killers like Legion, Hag, and Plague; I mostly try to play for fun. Surprisingly, I dealt with more toxicity when I first started the game and was low rank as opposed to now in red ranks. End game chat is mostly just the usual "gg" and "wp" for me.

i understand what you’re saying. What sucks for us non-toxic solo survivors is those type of survivors ruin it for the rest of us. Sorry you have to deal with that though. Do what you feel you need to for your own well being.

Yes, exactly, that is the problem. They are very low skill going against people WAY better then them because the matchmaker and ranking system is brutally unfair.
Then they get desperate and don't know what else to do.
Then, even if they do play fair, a lot of folks like you will tell them they suck and insult them and call them camper/tunneler even if they never did anything of the sort.
So they don't even see the harm in it anymore, because now you've desensitized them to it even being a negative thing to begin with.
The way you guys are all acting in here shows why it will continue to be a problem; you would rather attack anyone who does these things rather than attack any of the route causes, or try and encourage any ideas to the devs to work around it without just making the game more miserable for certain people than it already is.
If you ever want to solve the problem you are all going to need to change your mindsets from what you can do or say to hurt someone else in some way, to what you can do to actually help solve the problems.

What's fked up is that your playing style has changed because of salty survivors, however it's unfair that you camp everyone for no reason because there are some good survivors out there. This game is full of salty and toxic #########, yes I agree, but not everyone is an ######### honestly. I recommend you just let every survivor drop a pallet while in a chase and just stare at them for a couple of seconds, if the lad teabags you you camp them, if they don't you hook them and leave them alone lol that's usually how you can identify the toxic idiots from the people that play this game to have fun.

toxicity is finest point in this game and devs dont give a single #########. I have also recieved death threats about me and family just ignore it and close the chat, it never needs to be opened it is just a feature to harass.
Death threats or something very abusive is bannable offence just take screenshot and send it to dbd support ,they will get temporary banned

You can play how you want. If camping is what makes you a better killer then go for it. Pretty boring for us that mostly play survivor but that is what makes this game fun. So many different strategies, and it's a good thing.
