I have had to DC from the last 3 games in a row.
Now, this is to bring light to the fact that there are reasons where players are forced to DC, and that they need to be fixed before any penalty is implemented. This is just one scenario.
I just had a Ghostface (same guy, all 3 times) body block me in a spot. Fair enough, I assumed the first time he'd just stalk and hook me. Nope, he just tea bagged for about 5 minutes a piece.
Devs, your heads, remove them from your behinds. Think these things through.

It ain't the killers fault you kept sticking to corners like your parents put you there. Also if the game ended then what is the big deal? Did the survivors do gens and open the doors? Or did they do nothing?

Regardless of if they put themselves in that situation, the killer is holding them hostage and that isnβt ok.

How is he holding the game hostage if the other survivors are free to do gens? Holding the game hostage would be trapping all 4 survivors in basment or if two survivors not doing anything.

still you shouldn't be able to do that to one guy it's unfair for the one person whos gotten trapped in a corner

It is holding the game hostage for the same reason mori spamming till bleedout is bannable, youβre preventing them from playing for a mass amount of time.

I would consider it more griefing than holding the game hostage as if the survivors complete gens the game will eventually end. Either way, still a bannable/warnable offensive I should think.

That's a bannable offense and sjouldnt affect DC punishments..this is long overdue

It's bannable. Ragequits are not. About 95% of the DCs i see are clearly observable ragequits. So yeah i love the DC penalties.

There is literally gens that place you in a gap the killer can block and being stealth killer makes it very easy to use these spots and block survivors in, especially if it's a killer that is continuing to do so, sounds like he's TRYING to make survivors DC.

Yeah I wasn't talking about you "mate". Also how do you know they are a victim? They have provided no proof of this ever happening. Also you don't know what was going through the killers head, maybe they got bored of the tedious same old same old and wanted to do something else and the "victim" got caught in the crossfire. You're like a parent, you jump to conclusions and don't even bother hearing the other side.

All 3 times it was stick in between a gen and the wall of a jungle gym. Wasn't a matter of "sticking to corners", chief. I was doing the objective. Now run along.

So the other survivors didn't do anything? Taking the game hostage usually means, iirc, that there is no other option but to dc. In this case however the other survivors should trigger EGC rather quickly.

They made a button for when this happens. And guess what, its not the "exit game" button. There is an actual report button π― Where you can report the killer for taking the game hostage or refusing to play in normal game play. Imagine that π
In ABSOLUTELY NO way did you "have had to DC". Also this isnt the worse thing a killer can do to you by far.
If you think that is a valid reason to DC, I cant wait for you to get hit with a 6hr penalty. Better yet, lets hope they introduce a 2 week one!

So how do you get to the report button without having to sit out the entire match?
Like the post says, he DCd 3 times, therefore he would have had to have sat out 3 entire matches, with almost 10 minute queue times, sounds really exciting to me in all honesty.

Yeah, no. It's still taking the game hostage. It probably was you with how apologetic you are towards a killer taking the game hostage. Literally, shame on you. It is completely unreasonable to think anyone should just have to sit there and be griefed like that, and not be able to leave of their own accord. In no way would I advocate that. This is one of the few times I would advocate a DC, fully and completely. Why would you stay and give him an end game sacrifice? Screw that.

Not completely true, dcing is bannable but it isnβt something you report since the dc system is automatic.

I'm a David main, unlike you however. I think about my team and while ghost face is taking me hostage. My team can progress. I never felt the need to disconnect because ill depip anyway and leave my team hanging.
But hey maybe thats just me π

See, you would be right - if it was a matter of being camped. No, this was griefed. Body blocked in a corner. That's where the disconnect in your shallow, and narrow irrational opinion is.
If I'm being camped on the hook, I stay. Sure. If I'm being griefed and my team aren't doing generators, I dip.

Honestly it could be 20-30 seconds and it'd still be fine. The killer would have plenty of time to block for chainsaws, Borrow Time, etc. while preventing them from holding you hostage. They could apply it to survivors too, since they sometimes use bodyblocking to grief.

It's technically not taking the game hostage as the other survivors can do gens and start EGC, and as a result ending the match.
I'd hope it's considered some form of griefing though, as I see no reason to do it for that length of time other than to try to pointlessly annoy people. Not really gameplay that should be encouraged in any way if you ask me.

Camping is a strategy, but bodyblocking a survivor, for masses amounts of time, is considered griefing and if for some miracle that doesn't get the killer banned, then the killer has been targeting OP for multiple games with the intention of ruin his or her experience β that's also bannable. The killer violated multiple rules.
Camping: Fair, it's a strategy.
Soft Locking: Bannable, it's griefing.
