Unfun strategies
Why is the discussion seemingly so one sided on this subject? The overwhelming majority of unfun strats being criticized belong to killers (tunneling, camping, ect.) and survivors don't get scrutinized for their cheesy tactics (gen-rushing, infinite looping, etc.).
Survivors still hold much of the power in match outcome, so why aren't they called out for sticking to god windows or clutching their keys and instaheals? It is the role difference? What gives killer an unspoken rule book that survivors seem to easily dodge?

why are you mentioning insta heals they are in a fair state now

Gen rushing isnt real, its called playing the game. Infinite looping doesnt exist. Etc?
Try being bodyblocked by a trapper and then having a trap set under you so he can 1 hit. Yeah, theres a massive difference from how douchey killers can be vs how survs can be. Remember, you are the killer. You have the tools to do anything you want. Survs dont.
3 -
First you need to have played both sides competitivly.
Second gen rush is just doing objectives unmolested. You don't pressure objectives they will be worked on.
Same can be said with tunneling and camping. They just affect 4 out of 5 players and it seems unfun and unfair.
I can't really loop as survivor so can't speak to that. But as killer if I can't get you quick I'm gonna go back to those gens because I know what your trying to do.
6 -
An example that isn't there anymore, but received less criticism than tunneling while it was present.
3 -
Many players dont play both sides, or they play the other side exclusively for dailies. This is why, usually, survivors dont understand why killers make some decisions that can be not fun. They prefer to put guilt on one role or people instead of learning the game mechanics.

Most annoying strat from survivors that I see is when they abuse their perks. Like when a survivor is body blocking me with bt when I'm trying to go for the rescuer...like do you want me to tunnel or not. Or when they play very aggressively because they know that ds is active like go for the save right under my nose.

As far as "Gen-rush" is concerned, your partially right. If you just have a case of the killer not chasing each survivor and sticking to 1 guy too long, sure. If you have a case however of stacking toolbox addons and perks specifically to speed up gen repair times significantly faster than 80 seconds per person per gen... That no longer has anything to do with the killer's actions. Things like Franklins doesnt even stop this since the only person your hindering with it is the one person on the team not doing a gen anyway.

Infinite looping no longer exists, but there's still a good number of God windows that spawn pretty frequently. If the killer your looping is a Huntress, then they can still be infinite. These loops don't really take much skill to do properly and are pretty hefty cheese.
If you got bodyblocked, then that's your fault man. Work on movement

god windows or i live calling them "definitely not infinite window" are such a pain, 1 time devs TRIED to fix them and now most of those windows have 50% chance to spawn xd and ironworks windows was untouched
you told "survivors dont get trashtalked for genrushing? well how often do you see "gens go too fast" posts? there is crap ton of killers that have problems with gen speed (well im not one of them) but im only showing you its not like noone trashtalk survivors here, if anything there is much more killers whining about survivors being op than survivors whining about killers
and when youre talking about instaheals/keys killers have their own BS stuff (mori, half of red add ons, add on combos like insta saw, tombstone piece etc) in beautiful world all of them would be deleted but we're living in this world and play in this dbd and possibility of devs fixing all that is impossible, because this game is casual friendly and those add ons are made for fun and can make so many giggles but ppl around red ranks are getting sweaty (i mean "competitive") and abuse everything to win xd and that is so sad i want to have chill games without tryhards on both sides but there is nothing i can do ;/

If you are getting infinitely looped as huntress, you yourself need to work on pathing. I do more than just fine with her and the "god windows" you speak of. And before you ask, yes red ranks all day every day.

Okay, gen rushing is totally real. I don't know about y'all, but my ideal game of survivor isn't to hold M1 for 10 minutes straight.
Gen rushing is deliberately choosing to interact with less in-game elements, less people, and take less risks. It's the equivalent of playing WoW for resource mining and auction house trades over raids or story missions. You know who you are with your brand new parts and commodious toolboxes, but it's not as common as people think.

Red add-ons are very rare, and thus very powerful. They have a right to be. Moris are balanced. Period. They have to be powerful to be a killer equivalent to keys. Tombstone Myers isnt fun to play against, but the game literally depips you for playing it optimally.
My gripe is that survivors don't see any consequences for using braindead/unfun strats like killers do, making it the optimal way to play. If you don't think survivors have more power than killers you're just not playing correctly

Mmmm, i wouldn't say that.
Every now and then, i see the usual "DS in Locker" show up, then "BT in face", then of course "Genrush", etc.
2 -
Try being hook teched by a survivor with borrowed time, and the one being unhooked has DS. Survivors aren't angels by any means.
1 -
wait so youre trash talking instaheals but red add ons are fine because they are rare???? bruh
moris are ballanced?? how??
killer is getting red item every bloodweb (if its hillbilly his getting ebony mori every bloodweb, if its huntress shes getting ebony or 1shot hatchets, most of killers have 33% for ebony, 33% of good red add on and 33% of bad red add on) HOW IS THAT RARE??? if you play with bbq you pretty much have full bloodweb per game. HOW IS THAT RARE? my 100 ebony moris on hilly are rare hmmm (and im not even hillbilly main)

Em... wait you're right using the same window three times in a row to waste at least a minute of the killers time without any counterplay or skill included is no infinite.
0 -
I don't know what you mean, at least on here I see way too much of the wrong sort of complaining directed at all the things you mentioned.
And by wrong sort of complaining I mean people blaming players for using resources that are available to them and not breaking any rules, instead of discussing if the things have a place in the game instead. As long as it's in the game and possible no one should expect killers to never camp or survivors not to use god windows or whatever, that's scrub mentality.
1 -
I'll agree with you on this part that there's a lot of unfun and unskillful things survivors have at their disposal but then again killer had their fair share but it usually lasted for about 3-5 months at most.
0 -
Its kind of hypocritical to complain about what survivors do just because they complain about what killers do. I play both killer and survivor, so I'm not bias, only purple ranks though. If you said something like "can we stop blaming killers for playing the game" and left it at that I would be behind you 100 percent. What we all should do is stop complaining about the other role and remember this is a game to have fun. If what they are saying is getting to you just turn off chat. Most systems have a way in doing that. Once we can all do that, we can finally come together on the real issue this game has. Such as, when will clown get a rubber chicken as a weapon.
1 -
Instead list both sides unskilled braindead thing they have, cause this seems biased for the killer side.
0 -
Killers who think gen-rushing is toxic disguise themselves as survivors and don't do gens. I see it all the time.
1 -
You okay bud?
0 -
It isn't one sided.
0 -
Confirmation Bias. You're subconsciously ignoring all the threads where people complain about Survivor Stuff.
4 -
Ironworks and Haddonfield: Hold mah beer! 😉
0 -
Infinite looping doesn't exist
0 -
Or, survivors saying that gen rush doesn't exist are just disguising themselves because they don't want the gens to go slower, and the game to become more challenging and balanced towards the killer.
1 -
And neither does tunneling...
0 -
Well if you run DS it doesn't
0 -
If it doesn't, then what do you call the bs at Haddonfield and iron works then??? There's only 1 counter, and that's trapper, and that BARLEY works...
1 -
God windows
0 -
Yes, that go into a loop that can keep going forever, hence infinite, correct??
1 -
It's the fault of the asymmetrical structure of the game. As a killer, you get to see the end, even if it's the bitter end. You always have a chance to turn the table even when the gates are powered. Maybe you down a survivor and the other ones become stubbornly altruistic . Maybe you snipe the cocky survivor who wanted to teabag at the exit and gets too cocky, dishing out some deserved karma. As a Killer, it's not over until the post-game screen and, during the match, you always have something to do.
As a survivor, if you get camped and tunneled, you're just removed from the match and you spent most of it passively staring at the screen from the hook or the ground, plus you get cuck-tier bp for your inconvenience. So, I can see the reason in the disparity of the views. It's not bias, but the asymmetry of the game.
1 -
That is indeed a pretty face ;)
1 -
Or the killers knowing full well how strong thana ruin pop is and still coming to the forum to emphasize their stance on non existent issues.
1 -
Gen rushing isn't a real thing. There is nothing else for survivors to do. You can't criticize it when it's literally their only objective.
That being said, you are right in that only killer "unfun" strategies are criticized.
0 -
There's a boatload of unfun stuff that survivors have and do so I don't see how it's always killers that they decide to change, but aight
"Tunneling and camping isn't fun"
Something something DS/BT/Strategy for losing too many gens
1 -
Any loop that runs for 3 minutes may as well be infinite for how it affects the game
0 -
DS doesn't counter tunneling. If anything it makes you a target because you're running a freebie perk. DS, as it currently functions, is just a better, one use BT. It's just an invincibility field that rewards bad survivor plays.
2 -
"Rewards bad plays" how?
0 -
Because survivors rulebook doesn't exsist.
0 -
Trapping yourself in a corner isnt the killers fault
0 -
It gives you a free stun for running into the killer. Good survivors with DS abuse the invincibility it gives you by doing ######### in the killer's face all the time.
0 -
It's not invincibility, it's protection from being picked up for 60 seconds. If you can't find other survivors you're failing as a killer (or on a stupid op map)
1 -
Abusing mechanics is, however.
0 -
Well both sides have their #########. Everyone wants to win, some will do whatever it takes.
0 -
Because tunneling and camping are at the killer's disposal 100% of the time. There is nothing survivors can do to prevent it, other than doing gens. Which that in itself doesn't prevent it, just punishes it.
Gen-rushing doesn't become a thing unless A. Killer is specifically focused on one person completely denying any pressure being applied to gens. B. Everyone had a BNP, Toolboxes, ignoring hooked people.
0 -
That's not abusing anything anymore than survivor body blocking a hook
0 -
Why do you keep buying the ebonys from the bloodweb? The things are expensive for stuff your not gonna use. Sometimes the way things go, you have to buy them for a new bloodweb to spawn, but at least half of the time the entity will eat it. If you have 100 on Billy, that means youve burned through at least 100 bloodwebs and for some reason keep buying the thing that collects dust. After unlocking EVERY perk on Bubba and never using one of his moris...
Ive only had to buy 18... and he has the same mori spawn rate.
As far as saying moris are common though, I agree. Your right.

Its plays like this that is being refereed to. Even after going on a completely seperate chase than someone who got unhooked and had time to heal, the guy follows the killer flashlight clicking and immediately unhooks his teammate. The killer DIDNT fail to find another survivor.
