Unrelenting: Does someone uses it?
Never ever saw someone actually using it, at least on purple to red ranks. Opinions

It's a trash tier perk if you have more than 2 hours on killer and/or you have 4 other perks to choose from.
1 -
It’s pretty op perk wise, but not nearly as boosted as something like no mither or slippery meat for survivors. Those are what we call “Game Ending Perks” because as killer, you simply can’t win against a good no mither/slippery meat combo.

Unrelenting is one of those perks which was never intended to be top tier - its primary function is to make the game easier for new players. The reason no one uses it at high ranks is because good killers don't miss attacks very often, meaning that the better you get at killer, the more useless a perk like Unrelenting becomes.

I sometimes use to make up for my horrible fps
All and all though it's a training wheel perk like windows of opportunity and Zanshin Tactics with the added benifet that it isn't locked behind a dlc wall

I just wish the devs would buff it a little

only bubba is better thatn those perks, so its pretty uncomparable

I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to that, but I also don't mind it where it is. It's effective for what it does. Not all perks need to be viable at top ranks - some, like Unrelenting, are just there to give new players an easier time, and I think that's okay too and has its own place of value in the game.
2 -
Its barely worth it if u use save the best for last with it.
By itself... No

There is something I've never understood though. If Unrelenting exists for the sole purpose of helping new players, then why do you need to unlock it?
In order for a new player to gain access of Unrelenting, they need to play the game and earn bloodpoints. The way they are going to do that is by doing things like, oh I don't know, attacking the survivors. By the time they can get tier 3 Unrelenting they should already have a basic understanding of how the mouse 1 button works, and possibly even 4 perk slots and better perks then Unrelenting.
If the devs actually wanted this to be a perk to help new players then all killers should start with it, along with their teachables, right?
I'm not expecting you to be able to answer that, I'm just ranting I guess.

Lol, I still a remember a certain streamer for a bit of a while using Ohnrelentin. Ohnrelentin. Ohnrelentin. ;)

I'll try to give an answer anyway, if only a theoretical one. If I had to guess, I'd say that it's not so much about learning to use M1 as it is about learning the ins and outs of hitboxes, lunge ranges, how to counter survivors attempting to juke or 360, and that kind of thing. Which can take a good couple of dozen hours at least to really get the hang of.
You can get a killer to at least level 5 with the tutorial bloodpoints alone, and level 15 within a couple of hours of gameplay. It's definitely possible and even likely that a new player will unlock Unrelenting long before they get good enough at the game for it to no longer be of use.
It's also worth noting that even though there are many perks which are objectively better than Unrelenting, not all of them will be better in every scenario. Whispers, for example, is a great perk, but requires a certain degree of experience and game knowledge to really get much value out of.
DBD has a very long and steep learning curve, and perks like Unrelenting - simple perks with passive abilities that you don't have to actively "use", but just make the game a bit more forgiving while you're still trying to learn the ropes - ought not to be underestimated in their value from a new player's perspective. Enough value that the fact that they don't get such perks for free is fairly trivial by comparison.

No, because Unrelenting is a trash perk.

I used it in red ranks a couple days ago, and I got some value out of it from purposefully swinging too early at a pallet to trick the survivor into thinking they get another loop. That's really the only practical use you can get out of it.
1 -
Windows of Opportunity isnt so much a training wheels perk. It is useful to identify which pallets have been used by your teammates and it can show you the best path to go.
1 -
I always get tempted to use it to bait pallet drops.

It's pretty useless and is leftover from a nerf a long time ago. It needs to be deleted or reworked at this point

It is a terrible perk

I have a good buff for unrelenting. Gain walls hacks when you miss an attack for the rest of the game.
0 -
I heard a long long time ago that it reduced the Nurses cooldown for missed attacks. But otherwise it's a utility perk for messing up attacks.
I've thought of pairing it with Mad Grit and Agitation for a slash happy time but I'm not even sure it works that way either.
0 -
I do actually! There's some very fun things you can do with it with Deathslinger.
0 -
Y'all must be mad I'm kicking ass with unrelenting
0 -
But it's cool survivor's to run dead hard, sprint burst, prove thy self x2, and whatever training wheel perks survivor's run
0 -
It's a lot simpler to learn to hit survivors the first time and get a whole extra perk, than "just don't get hit" as survivor.
0 -
Nowadays i never use it, but back when i had my potato pc it was insanly helpfull
Running the game at 20 fps or lower makes you very vulnerable to 360s and Unrelenting helped.
I would never use it nowadays but it's nice the option is there for people with fps issues.
It could use a buff though. as even in the niche situation above it still wasen't amazing or anything

Survivor's exploit the hits regardless, if you go in for the hit good survivor's will always make you miss you're first strike, because of console auto aim or hit detection, they know about this and use it to they advantage every game, they either pull back and you're going to miss ,or the completely body loop you I don't recommend it for killers who can use the time effectively like Billy or Blight, but pyramid head misses *are entirely to punishing. You can call trash whatever the fact remains it's my goto and I'm loving it.

It kinda counters deadhard so I use it in fun no meta builds. I like pairing with bloodecho and mindbreaker; no exhaustion perks allowed.😋 The unrelenting is for pesky deadhard if they aren't affected by the other perks. 4th perk I switch between the info perks. Everyone knows unrelenting isn't the best but it does take some survivors by surprise.

Unrelenting is good with hag and deathslinger. Otherwise it's trash
0 -
If you run Unrelenting + Mad Grit can you just hold down M1 and chainsaw through survivors?
1 -
unironically I believe the perk should be like 80% or something like that it's low number is lame
1 -
I remember facing one of the famous rank 1 Hillbilly players, like, 2 years ago and he used it. He didn't get a lot of use, since he camped me at my hook to death.

Funny enough if those were the numbers Killers would go faster by constantly lunging
1 -
This is exactly right. There are a few perks like this (Technician for example) that aren't intended to be very useful to veteran players.
1 -
I mean that's now the case because back then you had og machine gun build but that's a whole different story.
1 -
What are Visionary, Boil Over, Poised, Blood Pact intended for?
2 -
So you saying run perks killer's usually run like the good bbq, pwyf, ruin, and fourth perk , and don't run perks you can actually use out of?are maybe you should go fix the exploits that you can use.
0 -
I use it on Myers, Hag, and Nurse on occasion. I am a red rank killer. It gets kills sometimes.
0 -
But why are those perks hidden behind a paywall ? Perks like Visionary, Windows of Opportunity or Zanshin Tactics are all usefull only for beginners with ~5 hours, yet they're all hidden behind a paywall, it makes no sense and is honestly pretty inappropriate.

- A good Killer does not miss attacks (hold m1 to lunge and you can correct your attack as it is active).
- You should not plan around missing your attacks in the first place...
- Even if you would miss a attack its so rare and the time saving is nothing this perk might aswell not exist
0 -
Dude are kidding, God forbid survivor's having some level of skill and how killers work ,so youre saying you don't miss any attacks.Even true talent and otz misses *are kidding, you trolling right.
0 -
I do on occasion, because it actually has a very nice use against efficient loopers.
When the killer near misses right before a pallet, some big brained survivors will use that recovery time to make an extra loop. With Unrelenting, the cooldown is short enough that when they do preserve the pallet you'll get a hit right before they get back to it.
Edit: forgot to mention that when using this perk, miss like that on purpose if you know they'll get to the pallet otherwise to hopefully take advantage of this.

Good on new killer like that you can learn the range of your basic attack
