I’ve been crushing my Ruin checks, but.......
It still doesn’t matter if your team can’t hit them :-( And this is at ranks 1-2
So last couple days I’ve been pretty much nailing 90% of my ruin checks and knocking out the first gen pretty quick. But then no more gens pop after that.
Since I use Bond or Kindred every game I know why, my other 3 teammates would spend the start of the game 1 being chased but the other 2 searching all over for Ruin... like for minutes... assuming you can hit a decent number of skill checks or even just gen tap you would be better served just doing gens.

The reason I hate playing against ruin is not because of the skillchecks, because no one works on gens. Everyone runs around getting themselves killed looking for the totem. I learned how to work through it, but apparently no one else can

I always work through ruin. Unfortunately I miss most of the skill checks (console framerates hurt). Does anybody actually enjoy this perk? Hitting greats seems like the least-fun skill to master in DBD.

Last couple of days, most people changed their playstile a bit. It was doublebloodpoints weekend, best time not to ignore totems cleanse. Fast bloodpoints with no worries... It should come back to normal today...

I couldn't agree more. Its a wonderful feeling starting the game and NOT having to worry where my totem spawned, whether I should run towards it or pretend its somewhere else.

Usually when I see a killer has ruin up I'll check my general area in spots where totems are likely to spawn, but I'm not dedicating more than 10-15 seconds looking. I"m not running across the map to find the thing.
Side note...
Had a game afew night ago on Crotus Prenn where all 4 of us spawned together. Decided to hop on a gen AWAY from my teammates as to spread pressure around the map and stumbled across the ruin totem along the way. Even though I found it a good distance away from our spawning point...the killer was still pissed in the endgame chat that we spawned right ontop of it, lol.

As someone who plays both sides roughly 50:50 I wish something could be done to address Ruin. I don’t have the right numbers or best answer but if they changed Ruij completely and changed Gen speed just a bit would that be the fix?
Or maybe making Pop goes the weasel baseline, but instead of 25% it automatically regresses 10% and then starts ticking backward?
I don’t like worrying about where my Ruin is as killer, and don’t like worrying about my teammates being useless due to Ruin as survivor.
Ad killer I also don’t like feeling like I really only have two perk slots to choose because BBQ and ruin are basically givens for me.

Feel like SOME kind of instant regression would be nice as basekit. If they made it so the gen regressed by 5% (roughly 20 seconds worth of regression) when kicked, but didnt regress further until after 20 seconds have passed... That would at least make it feel more worth the time to kick a gen, even if someone taps it immediately after I leave.

These people just aren't proficient. Ruin skill-checks are easy considering there's an actual urgency to hit the great zone. The importance makes them seem easier to land.

I feel like that too, I think people should try to hit great skill checks all the time though. I feel like when Ruin is down they take the safe big open success zone, but if you start trying for great all the time it’s good practice.

Another great thing about Ruin is that the killer spends a great deal protecting it. This in turn wastes a lot of the killer's time and allows survivors to get more done. I feel that totems should only be cleansed if NOED is a possibility or if Devour Hope or even Third Seal is in play.

Not gonna lie, i try to work through ruin but with my low fps i can't hit greats to save my life
I've started running the perk small game to learn the totem spots so i don't waste as much time searching for it
I refuse to tap the gens

Small game is a good idea for sure. Out of curiosity why do you refuse? Is it a pride thing? I’ve seen a lot of players tapping gens as I run up to them, but once they see me they work “normally,” like they’re embarrassed.
Gen tapping adds I think 8–15 seconds compared to working and hitting all great hex checks so it isn’t too slow. Much better than wasting time if you can’t find the totem right away.
Like I said not judging at all, you do whatever you feel comfy with.

Not really a pride thing, I'm the first to admit what a horrible player i am : p
More as a respect towards the killer by not circumventing his perk

Fair play!!! That’s cool, stinks that FPS is messing you up

I feel your pain. Rarely do I get team mates in red ranks (PS4) that can work through ruin. Usually I'm the only one who can power through it and hit the skill checks successfully the majority of the time. It's really frustrating being the only one who can work through it while everyone else does nothing lol

Ive started looking for ruin at the start, of I’m close I’ll do one gen and if no one else pops one I’ll just go around the whole map til I find it

And this has been Ruin talk. Join us again next time.

You won't be crushing those ruin skill checks anytime soon.
