Ruin just got legion'd
While double regression speed does seem appealing and would make for an interesting perk. You now need to run ruin with surge to be the most efficient.
Expect the effect is removed in just 2 frames. With one button press.
At least that's what I'm picking up on after reading the patch notes

I thought that at first, but it regresses the gen right after a survivor stops working on it, without the needing of the killer to kick it. They could've explained it better at the notes.

It still wont matter, the survivors have the numbers game to constantly rotate out, plus ruin will still be gone in 30-100 seconds anyway. It needs to not be a hex if they do this.

So then what will kicking the gen do if ruin is applied? Does it just double the regression rate?
1 -
I assume you can't kick it since it's already as if you kicked it.

I don't think you can kick it

Are you serious??? So now Pop Goes the Weasel flat out cannot be used in conjunction with Ruin??
5 -
so all survs have to do is sit on a gen for 80 seconds..... right?
almost..... almost like.... almost like it rewards just gen rushing....

What about low tier killers, like clown? What should he do lmao. And killers that need to setup aswell will be alot weaker

Feel like theres afew killers that could benifit from this effect. The change to legion for example makes it so survivors realisticly have to mend before they can work on gens again. If you go around and FF everyone...they're gens are regressing during the periods that theyre running from you, and while they're mending.
Freddy also might be able to gain some decent use out of this for afew reasons... Pairing ruin with survalence would tell you whenever a survivor hops on a gen. If you fake teleport and scare the survivor OFF a gen, youd know they left it and the gen would immediately start regressing again while your across the map. If they choose to NOT run away while your teleporting, youd ALSO know allowing you to just ACTUALLY go there and smack someone. The down side is Ruin and Pop will be at odds, so youd want to use one or the other.
Feel like any killer with good mobility would be able to make use of the ruin+survalence combo to keep pushing survivors off gens and force survivors to do what ruin ACTUALLY slows the game down for...actively look for the totem instead of touching a gen. If everytime you touch a gen,, Billy or Spirit zooms over...your not gonna wanna touch the gen.
Overall, the idea is...rough. Hexes generally dont last long, which is why Lullaby for example, which does decent after its been allowed to be up for awhile, but tells survivors its in play at the very beginning is already in a rough spot. The only reason devour hope is abit better is because its effect typically goes under the radar until someone gets blindsided by a 1 shot.

Fortunately for Hag and Trapper, Corrupt intervention is a really good alternative. It blocks the gens far away from the killer, while allowing the killer to trap up the side of the map that they spawned on.

True, true.I still believe it won't be as effective as ruin tho

It's almost like theres 3 other survivors that can get on the gen as soon as you go to do your job as a killer in getting a cook, just pushing survivors away from generators won't solve the problem of generator speeds going by to quick, because then your giving up pressure. Which makes the gens go by more because there's 7 of them.

Compared to the treatment Ruin got, it would appear as though Legion were buffed.

Wow, another survivor sided change. This makes ruin worthless.

So, my question is this. Do you get any brutality points from it. If not, it seems like a waste. So you'd need to run thrilling tremors...Sigh.

For those 2, its probably more effective than current ruin since the gens outside of your territory arnt being worked on at all, while the gens INSIDE your territory are being heavily guarded and trapped up. Survivors dont have the option to power through corrupt intervention. Trapper and Hags biggest weakness is that setup time at the beginning of the match. With CI acting to cover that up...they're golden for the part after.

Welp, this just makes me even more sad.

Ruin can stay up alot some games aswell and it makes alot bigger impact on the whole game, you didn't mention that :F I agree with you for the most part

It CAN, but CI is consistent and plays alot better into the territorial nature of those 2 killers. You will ALWAYS have that 2 minute time using it to setup traps, where as ruin can break in 15 seconds. Im not saying CI is ALWAYS better than ruin, but that CI synergizes well with trap killers and fills a similar role as ruin in early game slowdown.

just pressure all 4 survivors at once 4head.
if im in a chase, should i just abandon it to go get the others off the gens again so they dont get done before my first down?
2 -
If they are nerfing ruin why not nerf gen speeds as well since all killers had going for them early were ruin (plus corrupt even though its not getting changed) to slow the game down in the earlier phases plus its a hex so it can go away in the matter of 20 sec so its not that oppressive to go against. If ruin is getting nerfed at least nerf gen speed along with it or toolboxes at the very least because every killer can't pressure out the whole map especially on maps like mothers dwelling.

you should improve your people skills.
bad mod is bad.

Except that it guarantees the last few gens are incredibly split up, which is absolutely awful when you're playing something like Trapper who thrives on the last gens being close together.

Why is it still a Hex perk?
The effect no longer seems strong enough to warrant it, ESPECIALLY because a lot of the Dev responses cite EndGame as it strength. Why have it be removable?

I know, I'm sorry. I imagine you are on the receiving end of a lot of this. I really do apologize for that.

Pushing survivors off gens isn't a solution. You can effectively chase one at a time and defend one generator at a time, with chases having varying durations. It's not going to be an effective perk, survivors will just be gluing themselves to gens even harder. And it's still a HEX. I'm going to pee my pants RIGHT now.
