This Dev update shows BLATANT survivor bias from BHVR
Instead of balancing their game to NOT make the survivor the power role, instead of nerfing things like GOD WINDOWS. safe pallet to safe pallet to safe pallet loops etc. they nerfed RUIN. if you ever thought that BHVR is killer sided. it is OBVIOUS that they are still survivor biased. I had thought they had changed their way since 2016. but it seems that I am wrong.

For the Doctor changes, I think if you can reset the Survivor's Snap Out of It progress by shocking them again then it would be fair and balanced for both Killer and Survivor, but other than that I think the Doc changes are ok. But I don't really play Doc because I find him boring so my opinion might not be well informed.
Ruin changes--I don't have an opinion until the PTB. The changes might be good, they might not. But what is true is that the Devs have no intention on helping anyone with Gen speeds and how easy it is to do Gens. Gen regression speed is something we've been wanting for a long time though.
Disclaimer--I haven't been playing since Oni's release because of the Devs refusal to respect Legion players. They ignored us no matter what they said, 3 second stun for a completely harmless and non-lethal power is necessary and has been in feedback for almost a year.

The Ruin change is more killer-sided.

Early game, slightly more survivor-sided. However, come late game, with less generators, killers would be able to patrol generators much easily and the generators will end up regressing. It will allow killers to locate survivors much easily.

You're failing to account for the fact that this is a HEX perk. As in, this is a perk that can literally be removed permanently less than twenty seconds into a match.

Could be a problem; however, most survivors that I've seen ignore tend to ignore totems if there is no Ruin, especially if there are still glowing ones.
I wouldn't mind if it becomes glowing when it becomes activated (similar to NOED).
Only a matter of time if Ruin will work out well or fail.

>Perk is used in over 80% of matches
>Expects nothing to happen to it

o yes because hex perks survive till then ALL THE TIME. it is still a hex perk.
5 -
Same could be said about survivor meta perks

Sure. If the totem isn't broken

Whats going to happen to corrupt when it inevitably replaces ruin? People are going to swap to it almost invariably since its the only alternative that works to any degree. Its gonna have the exact same use rate as ruin within a week.

this is the most survivor biased comment I have ever seen, other than the person who typed up the hex ruin changes.

Imagine being naive enough to think that because something is heavily used, that it needs a nerf because it's overpowered.
Imagine being foolish enough to have a game with an ALREADY ESTABLISHED playerbase of 3 years...and balance around new players.
2 -
imagine ruin getting nerfed cause of 80% use rate, while i can't remember the last match without ds.
oh and their main focus while reworking doc beeing him beeing less frustrating to play against while he already is the worst killer ingame is pretty funny

You are forgetting that hexes will not survive until late game. So its useless perk until you camp your totem. Making some hex perks "late game" is stupid and mindless.

I ain't no survivor or killer main. I'm my own main. :3

Dont forget the audio bug that makes sound screwed up for killer.
2 -
There is no bias.
What happens on these forums is some only tend to see what they want to see when the side they prefer gets a change all the while ignoring all the changes that have happened to the other side.

the entire post of the changes to hex ruin where about "when going against it" "why its frustrating to go against" and all the "key issues" about ruin where SURVIVOR sided. not the RISKS of using ruin, like it being a hex perk for example. the RNG of skill checks. NONE OF THAT WAS MENTIONED. only the unfun and frustration of going AGAINST RUIN. removed the SKILL part of going against ruin which was to get greats, they removed that and made it not effect skill checks FOR SURVIVOR. the killer using ruin was "very little effort or risk to the killer" when it doesn't mention the risk of hexes. it also ignores that the killer juggles 4 people.
the entire ruin post was survivor biased. there is no arguing it

Also according to LeakbyDaylight’s Patch notes leak Doc will be garbage. Apparently they slowed him down even more when charging his shock and he can’t attack for 3 Seconds after Shocking a Survivor. This gets me even more mad than the already outrageous Ruin Nerf

Of course there is as changes happen to both sides. To say it shows biased is wrong as it highlights issues for the side it affects nothing else.
The whole point to the change of Insta heals was also all about the effect on killers. I didnt see a post from anyone stating that that was baised towards killers.
Ruin has always been too strong versus new players and bad versus good ones. In high ranks its not worth a slot as they power through it. Console maybe not as much as the skill checks are affected by frame rate.
The change probably hurts solo survivors more than killers as they may not risk a save when a gen is x amount done.

I'm not a killer main so please do not fight me for this. I like the changes for one sole reason: newer players was the reason ruin was nerfed (because of newer players getting punished for it since apparently people are bad at skillchecks when they start off). I can do great skillchecks quite often and I ignore ruin entirely unless I happen to stumble onto it. Other than that I see the ruin nerf pointless. The perk would neutral ground if it wasn't a hex, so this is a survivor sided perk until there are less generators closer together (which will force people to look for ruin and if you can guard ruin and apply pressure fast enough you'll be a god and this perk will probably be even better). As I said I'm a survivor main but I do believe the devs need to make this a normal perk for this to be more balanced, but we all know that the other survivors will complain about it.

if you seriously think this is a buff in ANY way to ruin. there is no hope in talking or reasoning with you
2 -
Its still a hex perk, which usually gets killed early in the game. So its stronger for survivors in the early game so they can get the benefit out of it before its removed before the Killer get their benefit out of it.
Did I miss anything?

Survivor cant be in a power role, cause they dont have any power. Hilarious how this outcry goes on.

Where do I mention anywhere that I think it's a buff?
It's a change that's all and without testing it the effects on the game are unknown.
What is happening is speculation as always from people who instantly dislike something and react with anger instead of taking time to think about something.
Ruin was never good versus strong players.
This change does have the potential to want the totem cleansed instead of powering through or even starting a gen on some maps.
It removes the time it takes to kick a gen when its up saving vital seconds in a chase if it's near completion.
This change is going to increase the gap of swf v solo imo as swf will know when it safe to power through a gen.
Try being objective as the more constructive feedback which isnt purely an angry rant the better.
I personally do not like this change as I don't think its good for the game.
