Dev incompetence
So the devs nerf ruin because rank 15-20 dont know how to properly play the game. But they're also apparently soon making it so you can't see ranks of survivors at the end of the match basically meaning that ranks don't matter. So if that's the case, what the ######### was point of nerfing a perk for certain ranks if the ranks no longer matter?
Can you guys just sell the game to a different company with better devs? Maybe then this game will actually be balanced and 20x less buggy.

Its their cash cow they won't sell it its the only sorta successful game they have ever had. They are gonna milk the community until it dies.

At this point I would trust Activision more with this game than I do Behaviour. And that's a pretty sad thing to say.

That makes sense. The reason they won't properly balance it is because they can't. Bunch of journeyman programmers that stumbled onto a good idea, but their own inexperience will cause it to fail.

BHVR has no idea what they’re doing. They nerfed ruin bc it required “little effort” from the killer to be so effective yet Decisive, insta heals, keys, etc. all exist. That right there tells you all you need to know lol.

Did you read the notes on why it's being changed? It makes sense and I welcome it as a survivor. As a killer I stopped wasting my time with hexes a long time ago.

Like their cosmetics are where most of their income is from not from chapters. They want new players to Impulse buy their overpriced cosmetics. But yes none of the devs know what they are doing DBD is on the rails the chapters keep it alive but its not grown in its player base in a long,long time.

It doesn't though. They basically said survivors don't have the skill to hit great skill checks so we're nerfing ruin. Now survivors don't have to have any extra skill to complete a gen.

It's not necessarily a nerf. There are tons of games where ruin just gets destroyed instantly and has virtually no effect. There are tons of people (like me) who can normally just work through ruin and hit great skill checks without having to worry about it too much. So, ruin doesn't have much use vs players who are good at skill checks. It's mostly a perk that's really strong for bad players and mid tier players because they don't know how to do skill checks. There are plenty of other slow down perks that are consistently better than ruin is. The new ruin will likely last longer because people won't feel like they have to go and search for it immediately when the game starts. It rewards the killer for playing well and forcing survivors off gens. It's worse for them if they tunnel survivors for too long and don't end chases when they need to. We will have to see how well it performs when the changes come out and see actual date on it before we can just call it a nerf. People on the forums have zero understanding of balance.

Right. . . finding a brilliantly lit totem on dark maps was difficult. . . . it's not like Ruin lasts more than three minutes most of the time.

devs are confused ohtofu wants noed nerfed not ruin....also hope the bhvr pr team is chock full of coffee they are going to have as much fun as a rank 13 killer going agains a red rank swf with this one, thought matthieus civ 5 comment made them sweat the complete blatant bias in this post is going to be fun to watch once the shitshow starts.

Do you even listen to yourself? It's just a video game. Save that kind of passion for something more meaningful in life. Tofu or whoever doesn't run the game. BHVR can listen to constructive criticism or advice, but that doesn't mean they have to do it. It is there game after all. They have information that you don't, plus they aren't driven by your narrow narrative.
Everyone was upset over the DS change, but it was the right move. No one can deny that. The game will forever change. They stated that long ago.
Lastly, it's just Ruin. The perk that is destroyed within minutes. The perk good survivors plow through and bad survivors tap through. There are SO many better perks to bring.

I use Pop for slowing down gens. It's very effective and they can't take it away from me either! I honestly think I will start bringing Hex Ruin after the change. xD I'll give it a try.

Most people play survivor. If they want the game to thrive they need it to be more welcoming to survivors. To have every match start with Ruin was... tiresome. It honestly does not slow down good players as they can push through then find and destroy it (if they care). I'm not saying the change is good (perhaps remove the hex aspect?), but as a survivor I'm glad I won't have to see that red circle again. As killer, this doesn't affect me as I gave up on Hex perks loooooong ago.
Lastly... Need I remind you that the devs changed DS and crushed MOM in its infancy? These changes were done to make the game more fun for killers. So, your narrative doesn't hold as the devs do look at both sides. They said long ago that change will be constant in DBD, so I wouldn't get attached to any style of playing. Learn to adapt and you'll be fine.
