How should killers control gen rushing at beginning of match?
Can you get 1st hook within 80 seconds? Now, three gens are finished at that time whenever survivors are not terrible potato. TBH I'd not like to play as killer at all in this environment, so there's a very strong possibility I'll quit playing killer or this game.
How do you think?

Corrupt Intervention means you only have to patrol 4 gens at the start and they likely spawned on gens that they cannot work on. They'll need to walk to one they can.
I swapped to CI from ruin weeks ago and do not regret it in the slightest. Guaranteed effect for a guaranteed amount of time. You should be able to find someone and probably down them before those two minutes are up.

My biggest issue is without a starting perk like ruin, you are not only having to rely on your gen pressure, but also relying on survivors choosing to do something else besides gens, or just making horrible mistakes. Gens CAN BE completed so quickly that a smart, spread out team focused on the objective will be done and gone very quickly being little affected by your pressure. You are relying on them grouping up, you are relying on them following you around in hopes of a flashlight save etc.

Corrupt Intervention + playing a strong killer , I'm sure survivors will be loving to face Spirit and Ghost Face and Billy in 80% of their games.

They can't.

I completely agree with you. New ruin will works as devs said at the latter of the match if the totem still alive, but it's not related to this problem.

I think the answer for now is we don't
Corrupt intervention will help a bit but i think that we just have to get used to sacrifice the first 2 gens and try to hold momentum from that point out
Easier said then done ofcourse but yeah

Wait, so Ruin doesn't effect skill checks anymore? Or does it but its just not listed? All I saw is that it regresses gens that aren't worked on. Sorry I'm a console player and can't access PTB to test it out.

Apparently they aren't supposed to because that would be unfun for survivors :^)
4 -
Don't. Let it happen and use blood warden and no ed. Just use end game perks to give them a false sense of security

on a long enough timeline, youll get better at knowing about where the survs start the trial. in about 4 out of 5 games i can walk directly to where they spawn and start my first chase within 10 seconds.

It just regresses gens not being worked on

Apparently if nobody is actively working on a generator for whatever reason it automatically starts to regress.

The problem is that even CI doesn't solve the problem. So now you have a temporary 4 gens to patrol, but as soon as you chase one guy that's 3 on those gens. It's also much easier for this early chase to go on longer seeing as all the pallets are still up at this point.

Why do killers have to sacrifice a perk slot that only lasts for the BEGGINING of the game and no later and leaves them with 3 perks for a majority of the game while survivors have 16 perks that work for the entire game barring a few?
You shouldn't have to give up 1/4 of your perks just so the game isn't over before it started. That's terrible game design.

Unless you were playing against potatoes, you already were playing with 3 perks after the first minute anyway using ruin. The perk only hurt newer players longer than that.
Second, CI is more than sufficient if you know how to play killer. You should have someone down before a gen pops. If not, you're not as good as you think you are. I've been using CI on doc for months and I still 4k far more than not.
And if you want to go this route, why should all 4 survivors have to sacrifice 3/4 of their perks to counter the extremely common amount of camping, tunneling, and slugging that already goes on even with the prenerfed ruin?

Just play killer relaxed. Even if gens get done in five minutes and all four escape, don't worry about it. Even when playing solo survivor is frustrating, it's not a stressful race against time the way killer is. So, just refuse to put any more work into the match than a survivor has to. If the survivors prefer to rush through gens and escape in five minutes, if that's what they consider fun, then don't worry about it, just use those five minutes to have fun yourself and then move on to the next match. 'Cause you're right, trying to play killer in this environment isn't enjoyable, so ignore whatever it is the game expects of you and make your own rules; the game gives you the freedom to do so.

people need to loose this mindset of loosing 1-2 gens during your first chase beeing bad. thats the expected result. you have no pressure yet, so everyone you arent chasing is gonna do a gen. if you apply pressure after your first hook the game slows down drasticly.

I actually like this mentality. Not enough to actually play the game again but you got me very close with this.

Oh no! Don't quit! The game will be so much different without you we will miss you so much please don't quit 😢

I think corrupted intervention is overrated.. survivors can just hide for 120 secs, and that's it! One killer perk gone.

Similar things happen to me. If I use Corrupted Intervention and patrol the 4 gens, I just don't see them for the first few minutes. It's extremely helpful for getting the gatekeeper emblem and for setup killers like Demogorgan, Trapper, and Hag; but for most killers, it doesn't seem to provide me much advantage as far as general gameplay goes.

Great, so the solution to a meta perk band-aid fix to early game gen slowdown is a different perk band-aid fix to early game gen slowdown that only has a short guaranteed affect on 3/7 gens and is then rendered useless for the remainder of the match. Much better than actually addressing the underlying singular problem of early game gen rush. Cool beans.

You can't.
The best perk is corrupt intervention, but if you chase someone for a minute or so, gens will still get done. Also you can have Azarov's Resting Place and spawn in the middle of the map, which will mean that gens will be free at both ends of the map, in that case CI does nothing for you, a wasted perk slot. It can happen something similar on other maps too.

I've been experimenting more with CI, similar effect to ruin; first hook before the first or two gens pop. CI is a good perk, but In my opinion ruin is superior, because of the fact that it can potentially last more than two minutes.
And it's not like killers who use ruin rely that much on ruin, considering it can get cleansed in 30 seconds or in less than a minute, but you can still have a decent game and get a pip or a black pip. Ruin simply allowed you not to sweat too much as if you were playing the game for money or something, instead of just for fun. At least I personally play the game for fun, I don't get anything else out of it, because I do not stream, recieve donations or anything like that.

Discordance and corrupt intervention could help.

Discordance
Wait for that yellow gen and head straight to it. Send the rats scattering and if you're remotely competent in chases, you will have the first hook secured before one gen pops.
Of course, if they spawn separately then this is harder to pull off, but you're also more likely to find someone whilst scouting the gens early on.

Not many people have practical answers that work. It;'s just the usual meme of "do it, idiot."

I use CI. But it isn't instead of RUIN.
