PS4 matchmaking - Very long queue times

Ever since the dedicated servers went live yesterday, queue times have increased considerably. Before the dedicated servers went live, it took no longer than 10 minutes for me to find a game at rank 1 solo. It took me 25 minutes to find a game last night (timed with a stopwatch).

Unfortunately, I don't have time to queue for upwards to an hour every evening to play two games as survivor. On the other hand, killer queue is instantaneous.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues? I really hope this is resolved soon.

Well since yesterday I have no problem joining a lobby (solo survivor) it can be less than 5 minutes for me now 🤨

It's been no different for me, just a few minutes wait usually.

@Ryuzaki, although I might be wrong, I don't think this has anything to do with dedicated servers. If anything, queues should be faster, since if the killer leaves the lobby all survivors will remain in it and will not need to requeue. It might be due to your region, time of day (night) etc, etc.

Or another theory is that because dedi servers went live, a lot of people jumped in game to test them out and since there are more survivors on console than killers, their queue times increased. If my theory is correct, then this should normalise in a few days.

In my experience both survivor and killer queues took the same time as usual - 3-5 minutes for survivor and instant for killer

The only waiting for me is survivor, with killer I get matches instantly.

Could also be because the rift ended and players are burned out until the release of the new rift.

On consoles theres just no many killers left and im not surprise though, they have to deal with pathetic 20-30 fps when survivor side is much more smoother.bhvr killing this game with empty promises about optimizations

Yeah I played last night starting around 8pm est. and as a red rank solo queue survivor times were longer than previous, but I believe we have a killer shortage, could just be matchmaking being messed up I hope.

I know I waited at least 17 minutes for 1 of my games as I had watched a 15 minute youtube video while waiting and then watched a couple of minutes of a 2nd video before I was loaded into a lobby.

But I will say I got to finally play against several red rank killers. This previous rank reset I may have played against 3 red ranks killers before the double bloodpoint event.

Plan to play some killer this weekend, but assume times will be pretty quick.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I had a few more games as survivor last night and kept getting matched with killers in green ranks, I am rank 1/2. It looks like there is a lack of killers in the red ranks as of late and the matchmaking has to expand it's reach hence the long wait times. That's just my theory.
