What's a 'Jen Jockey'?

Yamoaka Estate two people got themselves basement hooked I assume because the ghostface was hiding near the the basement, the third guy went to try and save got himself hooked iin basement with the others. I went straight for exit gates cause I'm not about to risk it without bt.

So I escape and then the dude that first got basement hooked says I'm bad and a 'jen jockey' what does that even mean what are these made up terms? This guy really expecting me to save him without bt when the ghostface is clearly lurking there?

Basically someone who priorities generators above all else.

I literally got stalked first by ghostface managed to evade long enough to run out the exposed effect and I only did 2 and a half generators got more points then anyone. The guy told me to take a hit then unhook so basically he wanted me to get hit going down into the basement essentially hook swapping with him #########?

In the words of tydetyme 'when another player would otherwise impede my victory... I will not assist them' not about to go into the basement with a lurking ghostface to save strangers when I could just walk out of the exit gates the lone survivor

I don't think gen jockey is even a bad term. Any time I hear it, it registers to me as "the main generator guy/girl." Usually in solo queue (since I don't have a lot of friends who like to play this game all the time) people are willing to go for the unhooks, so I usually take up the "gen jockey" role because if I don't, gens don't get done but the unhooks keep coming.

First of all that was just some rando, so I wouldn't be too offended. Second, as I said doing gens is always good for the survivor side (obviously sometimes saving is necessary). That's why I imagine most high rank players just "gen rush" and dive bomb the gens the second the killer isn't chasing them.

Oh I'm not offended just puzzled on why some people expect unsafe unhooks from dudes who don't run bt.

Here's how I play survivor - small game totem hunting because you never know it may save everyone, gens and I'll run chases if the killer spots me I'll only go for saves if I know the killer is far away or occupied by someone else I detest people who make unsafe unhooks without bt because it screws them and the hooked survivor a lot of the time.

I should note I knew the killer was lurking near basement in stealth so the only logical choice was to save myself

Gen is short for generator. Genny/jenny/jen whatever.

A jockey is someone who races horses (or other things).

    They're saying you ride gens.

As in you just sit on them all game.

Which is fine. You survived. You played your game.

    ######### them lol.

Gen jockeys are actually good people to have in a game. They complete the objective.

I see myself more as a "Gen jockey" since I'm terrible at running in higher ranks, so I prioritise stealth and completing my objective.

If you're stupid enough to wander into a camping stealth killer's lair, then that's on you.

Gen Jockey isn't derogatory - it's just a term for someone who just finds themselves on gen repairing duty most of the game, either on purpose or through the way the game plays out.

I'm a gen jockey. Proud of it. Though I have to admit the first thing I thought when I read Jen Jockey was a jockey that rides a horse named Jen.

That's just how the guy spelt it, too ignorant to know that it's gen

For one I think you spelt it wrong haha, but it's basically a person who just sits on gens the entire game. They dont go for saves, they don't get chased (somehow) and they always seem to be the first person to leave the match when they get all the gens done. They just sort of breeze through matches

I didn't say it in a harmful or rude way, I just started that it was spelt incorrectly, I didn't mean to imply that you had spelt it incorrectly yourself.

Nah. I didn't for even a second think OP was was ignorant or anything of the sort. Just thought it was amusing that because of the spelling my mind conjured up that image.
