Devs will you remove nurses cooldown?
I think everyone here can agree nurses addons needed to be changed even nurse mains but absolutely no one asked for a base kit nerf her base kit was perfectly balanced so will you ever remove it? Pls answer and don’t dodge the question I know you see this

They don't have a good track-record of going back on decisions, at least not promptly.
Frankly, putting a cooldown on top of a cooldown is just bad design and a change that nobody had asked for. If they want to keep the blink recharge mechanic, they should just remove the fatigue. If they want to keep the fatigue, then they should revert the changes to her basekit. There's no point in having both cooldown mechanics. Also, too many of her add-ons are gimmicky and serve little purpose. They look like the products of little effort and imagination.
The From The Void She Kills achievement has basically become impossible, unless you try to farm with the survivors, or Insidious camp your Ruin and hope you get oblivious survivors who don't watch nor listen. The Torn Bookmark has already a very clear downside which is implicit in how the blinks work now i.e. 3 second to recharge each one. There's no reason to disable the ability to teleport through objects in exchange for an extra blink, on top of the fact that it's an ultra rare. Just not very good changes.

They don’t care, I literally just asked Peanits and he deleted my post

I'm not a developer, but until one comes along I think it's fairly safe to say the answer is no. There are a lot of people, including the devs themselves obviously, who felt that Nurse's basekit was too powerful. They have shared their reasons for adding the cooldown in the first place on several occasions, and they have also said that statistically, her performance has been increasing as players have adjusted to the changes. So basically, they stand by their decision and are generally happy with its outcome, based on what I've read of their comments on it since the changes were made.

Really?
1 -
If you asked in the ptb q&a then it was deleted because it is off topic.
5 -
I seriously doubt it. They’re probably going to move on and nerf a different killer rather than revisiting nurse. As long as survivors aren’t complaining they don’t care.
4 -
Do you have screenshots of what the devs said?
Because I would like to see the wording.
Also, they provided us no data that indicated basekit Nurse was a problem to begin with. So we have no idea what that decision was based on.
Many of us Nurse veterans told the devs that the basekit changes were bad and needed to be reverted. Of course, that feedback got ignored.

I bet the numbers will change with ruin nerf

I don't play Nurse so I could be wrong. But doesn't her blink start to recharge during the fatigue? If so isn't the wait very small?
1 -
I have this screenshot from Peanits about the Nurse's stats improving as players adjust:
The information about why they made the changes was largely from the Q&A stream in which they addressed questions about the Nurse changes. The question in which they talked about the cooldown specifically and why it was added is at around the 49 minute mark. Here's a link to the stream: https://youtu.be/dmFyEKu2CWc?t=2940
As for the devs thinking her basekit was too powerful, that's an assumption I'm making based on the fact that they decided to nerf it. The statement about them being happy with the changes and how they have turned out was a general impression of mine based on comments like Peanits' one above.

You have to wait plus a stun sometimes you even have a pallet stun with a blink stun the cool down is smallish but still really hurts her
2 -
Shes still the best killer, she just has a way higher risk/reward ratio compared to what she used to have
0 -
That's frankly nonsense..nobody even plays her anymore
1 -
We can hope now that they've removed ruin as a countermeasure
0 -
Well, they do have access to the actual numbers of how many people play Nurse, so I don't blame them for trusting that over anecdotal data.
0 -
Especially on console
0 -
Yup, really hard to play on console but not impossible like a lot of people say. When the game works properly of course, when its not running at 20fps
1 -
If you mean in the Q&A thread, that's because the Q&A post is for the 3.5.0 update only. We put it right at the top stating that only questions about the update are going to be selected, and others are going to be deleted. This is the same thing we do for every Q&A thread, or else we'd end up with a bunch of off topic questions.
We are not currently looking into removing the blink recharge mechanic. The changes seems to have had the intended effect and experienced Nurse players are still able to do very well with her.

Not anecdotal when not one person says they see nurse semi regularly..and every nurse game I've witnessed by players who play this game more than anyone has ended in a nurse getting decimated..she wastes too much time and frankly their stats show her playrate and kill rate dropped like a stone..and they never respond to nurse posts claiming otherwise..
1 -
Nurse was op without the cooldown. Now she is pretty balanced imo, just harder to learn
1 -
You guys need to learn that just because something gets a win rate you like doesn't mean everything is good. I have a feeling that is the same reason Demo's issues are being ignored.
4 -
So..her disappearing was intended..? Well that's depressing...greeeat
3 -
What players say they have or haven't seen in their or others' games is literally the definition of "anecdotal data".
We have seen two single statistics. We don't have access to all the data showing how things like pick rate have changed over time. If I were a developer, and I had a bunch of people on the forums telling me "but no one plays Nurse" while my data server is telling me that actually, thousands of people (or however many the actual figure is) play Nurse every day, I would probably trust hard data over anecdotal claims as well.
3 -
"absolutely no one"
time to crawl out from under that rock
1 -
Mhm...kind of funny when what we see conflict with the supposed data I guess
0 -
Ah, 'experienced.' Why is it with survivors you folks coddle and hand hold (Ruin), yet with killers, you focus on 'experienced.' Killer players are just bots to you all, eh?
5 -
It is. Kind of makes me wonder if maybe we're only a tiny fraction of the global playerbase and possibly what some individual players see isn't the whole picture.
2 -
Honestly good Nurse players still consistently 4k with her. You actually need to be good with blinks now, and some people can't handle that.
Her being less fun I can see, but tbh if the only way a killer is fun is if they're OP then we have a design problem, not a balance problem.
0 -
Or perhaps something else but you do you I guess..I dont care to argue anymore
0 -
Her base kit was not OP so not a design problem
1 -
I'm not a nurse main, but from what I've seen and played, she is very powerful now. No one plays her because she is the hardest killer, but at the same time at least 2nd strongest. Blink can be broken, sometimes even uncounterable, if used through cellings or multiple walls.
Just ######### GIT GUD. Nurse is not a legion with a built in "anti kill mechanic", Pig with an RNG slowdown and stealth with a warning or a Clown with a power that does almost nothing. If you blink precisely and hit EVERY time, fatigue, pallets, loops or even walls cant do ######### to you.
1 -
On pc you mean and that’s the top 0.1% I can do ok on console but between the restrictions on a controller and the FPS probably she needs to still be looked at
3 -
Because there are more survivors and they want money that’s why at this point I’ve accepted there biased
1 -
Sounds like a perfect time to release some new stats on her, Almo has said her pick rate is already down 3 to 4% from pre nerf on all platforms.
1 -
Yes, her base kit was OP. Thank God this discussion is meaningless now because that freelo bs is gone.
0 -
Potentially. I guess that's up to them!
0 -
4% isn't much if only 1.2% of the Killer playerbase is actually playing her.
0 -
Eh, I don't think they really care it has had the desired effect they wanted. I just find myself playing less now and just watching streams or playing other games. I'm going to give the new ruin a try but if I don't enjoy it ill probably just move on to another game.
2 -
correct but that was very shortly after the nerf I'd still like the see current stats now that the dust has settled.
0 -
but there is something wrong then, if you dont have fun with the nurse (or another killer) then there would be something wrong for the new playerbase :/ you all change the way how survivors get "buffed" in a way so they make fun for new players and old ones but not for the killer side?
the killer side would ctually get even more new players if they even would make fun (its just not fun getting looped, t-bagged, trolled, and even get insulted with nonsense but it still hurts and nothing much will be done at all to make the killer side fun) you even have more pressure now as killer then you have as survivor (i play both sides) so there is also something wrong. all players should be under pressure and not only one. its a horrorgame at least it tried to be one and now its just a normal hide and seek with the luck of getting jump scared which is sadly not high.

Thanks for the info. The stream was actually a lot more insightful.
Now I understand what their reasoning was for nerfing her basekit. I don't agree with it fully, but at least they provided a decent argument.
If they wanted to give survivors more opportunity to use movement, they could have slightly increased the fatigue and maybe even shortened the lunge a tiny bit. That would give survivors more room to use movement and make the Nurse miss.
A nerf isn't even needed imo. When Nurse lands a hit and goes into fatigue survivors get a speed boost. They're supposed to use that opportunity to gain distance and break line of sight.
Of course, map design is a factor here.
2 -
"The intended effect" == effectively deleting Nurse from the game because veterans can't use her anymore and new players won't want to spend hours in stun cooldowns to try learning
0 -
Like I said I don't play her. So I can't speak too intelligently about her. I assume they have the stun wait for a reason. A full removal is unlikely. A reduction might be in order though.
0 -
Balanced or not she is so boring to play now. You literally look at the survivor for 3 seconds and then blink, and if you miss then you do it again and again etc.
I know a killer like nurse isn't supposed to have an easy learning curve but at least make learning her fun.
